I'm probably the absolutely LAST person to think of this but like,

the modernisation of Starlight Express in the London version obviously features a lot of strong femininity with Female Greaseball being the strongest and most admired engine in the yard (pre-electra arriving), and with the song I Am Me by the coaches

and I think that's cool for obvious reasons but also because like, the new version also includes Control's mother and has Momma instead of Poppa - a projection of a parent in Control's imagination likely based off their own

So with the main Parental figure being a woman, it makes sense for Control's imagination to have so many feminist-heavy themes without it needing to be A Big Deal, that's just like how it is because that's how Control will have been raised

And with Bochum's Control (originally) there was Poppa, likely a projection of the main parent being Control's father. So that could/would explain how themes of the show are a bit more masculine-heavy

And idk if that was on purpose or if it's just an accidental theme in the shows that kinda makes sense but idk I think it's pretty cool
