If it's broken, that's just more pieces of your heart to share with people.
“Continue to share your heart with people even if it has been broken.”

It's very funny to me that the stereotypical gelatinous cube is bright fucking green when the monster itself is almost perfectly transparent. Like its gimmick is that it's a monster that imitates an empty 10x10 hallway. How many people have fallen victim to gelatinous cubes because they "know" that the ooze is bright green and so don't bother to check the suspiciously clean corridor in front of them.

The old school lack of transparency on tumblr is amazing because you assume the people you follow must all be equivalent to you and then you see someone write “I brought my youngest to college today” and someone else write “my mom wouldn’t let me listen to Ariana Grande when I was a kid” and then your head explodes

Ok also I think the reason I Saw The TV Glow is so powerful (and everyone is making jokes like it got them to start hrt) even beyond its fundamental message of hope and There Is Still Time etc is because as a trans person there are so many people and medias that will ask you the question What If You're Faking It. What If It's Not Real. And ISTVG is the first media I've seen that asks What If You're Not? What if you're not and you keep going on like this?
And it gives that question a name and a physical presence and a weight and an aesthetic and a horror. It's like TV static. It's like falling asleep on the car ride home. It's like living with a light inside you crawling to get out. It's like suffocating to death. It follows that thought to its logical conclusion and, in a frankly extremely painful and hard-to-watch but deeply needed way, excruciatingly draws out what that looks like. Suspended animation. Stasis. A life that is not your life.
It says that choosing not to transition is still a choice.

Please enjoy some fun and possibly outdated memes for Time to Orbit: Unknown by @derinthescarletpescatarian
I want to say this is spoilers for up until chapter...75 or so? I can't put enough love for this story into just these 12 images and can't possibly capture everything happening because SO MUCH happens. Would highly recommend.

computer security is really funny because it's like. "well. if the wrong pattern of electrons appears on the end of this cable, the machine will spontaneously tell someone my bank account details."

Since the whole thing with NaNoWriMo has gone down, I've noticed that one of their former sponsors, Ellipsus, has cut contact with NaNoWriMo because they do not support their stance on AI; I didn't know what Ellipsus was, but upon further research I've found that they are a writing platform that works a lot like Google Docs and Microsoft Word, only with a heavier leaning on the story-writing aspect and connecting with other writers - and they also completely denounce any use of AI, both in the writing process itself and in the use of their platform. I really appreciate that.
Since this is the case (and since I've noticed Google has begun implementing more AI into their software), I've decided to give Ellipsus a try to see if it's a good alternative to Google Docs (my main writing platform). It's completely free and so far, I've found it simple to use (although it is pretty minimal in its features), and I really like the look of it.
I figured I'd spread the word about this platform in case any of you writers would want to give it a try, and if you do, let me know how you like it!

Thera, the pigeon girl
Tumblr media
Thera is often alone; She loves flying and sitting on high places while getting lost in her thoughts. She thinks her voice sounds weird, but she loves to sing. When she gets hungry enough, she braves her anxiety and looks for food. If you're enjoying a meal outside, maybe you'll see her eyeing your meal from far away. Please share with her! She's a nice girl.
