                   there was a brief moment between when the lock didn’t click and key wouldn’t come out where teddy momentarily considered just tearing down the door. they had about a two hour window, give or take. i mean there was likely a spot before and after 3 o’clock that was free at a   24 hour   church but everybody had   LIVES   that couldn’t stop suddenly simply because teddy just couldn’t wait another day. teddy’s set to ship out in a week. and during some brief, meaningless discussion this morning they’d kind of realized they’d like to do the rest of this married.  preferably with time for a honeymoon.  THAT’S   where the rent a church comes in.                    luckily the door opens before he has to completely hulk out, and while he’s not entirely surprised to see his apartment is occupied yet again by someone who does not live there, he’s incredibly excited that this part doesn’t have to go in the group chat.        “ kate! ”      he says excitedly, throwing his keys to the side and spinning with the whirlwind his thoughts have been in.              “ i’m glad you’re here, do you have anything blue? ”          the   PROBLEM   with an insta wedding however, was all the little details. they had their suits made for prom that might still fit, but teddy knew for a   FACT   tommy only owned what he called ‘formal sweats’ and noh likely saw any celebration as clothing optional. not that teddy minded--- that’s what he liked about his friends, they were all so special. and speaking of clothes, what did teddy even have? he knows black tie is the usual, but they’re not very muted colors fans, and in the spirit of union would it be better to wear his colors or billy’s?  did it even matter?               “ actually, maybe red? what’s more romantic red or blue? ”

the fact that carol and teddys two braincells came up with the plan ‘stab me until i absorb enough power to explode’ and are now the respective king and military leaders of the kree/skrull empire is the kind of dumbassery i like to SEE from my arcs

“Sparring partner huh? I think I can take you.” / @chaosiica 

                teddy’s eyebrow quirked, an amused smirk pulling at the ends of his lips. eli and nate were bickering, and most likely play fighting      (without the ‘play’)       on the other mats. and while teddy would wager he and billy might be on the   other   extreme of that spectrum, he didn’t really mind much.           “ is that so? ”           he teased, that little spark of excitement that only billy kaplan could ignite in him roaring like a fire. they were good. better than they had been when nate richards first crashed into their lives.   NOW,   they could make it interesting.                        he took his stance. feet sturdy but not planted, just like eli had coached. teddy gave one last look at the boy across from him   (boyfriend? were they their yet? were they past that?). while there were evidently no losers in this match, teddy, decidedly, was interested to see the WINNER.                 “ show me your moves. ”

“Clearly there needs to be some ground rules established.”

“You’re going to be my sparring partner?”

“You know what? I like you.”

“Not working out. Nope.”

“I’m sorry but looking at you doesn’t scream ‘fighter’ to me.”

“I really hope you can make a better second impression.”

“You get one more shot. I hope it will change my mind.”

“I’m here to apologize about before… can we try again?”

“Well this is certainly… incredibly interesting. Nice to meet you.”
