Xiaomi Brings Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P Robovac to India
Xiaomi has quietly added a new ecosystem product to its ever-growing list of smart home products in India. Dubbed the Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P, this is a 2-in-1 robovac that can vacuum and mop separately or at the same time. The robovac was launched in August last year in China and has garnered some rave reviews since then.
Manufactured in association with Viomi, one of Xiaomi’s key ecosystem companies, the Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P comes with twelve different sensors for its smart functioning. This includes the LDS (laser distance sensor) & IF sensor. The rest of the sensors aid the robovac with extra functionality like preventing the vacuum falling down the stairs, collide against walls/obstacles/furniture, finding its way back to the dock or stop working as soon as it’s blocked/stuck.
Thanks to the LDS sensor, the Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P can smartly map the home and users can schedule the cleaning (either the vacuuming or mopping or both) of specific rooms at a specified time using the Mi Home app. It is one of the few robovacs in the market which can both vacuum and mop at the same time. Companies like iRobot and Milagrow have had robot vacuum cleaners in India but not anything with both dry and wet mopping.
The Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P is powered by a 2100Pa suction motor coupled with 3200mAh battery. The app is equipped with features like real-time mapping, Zoned cleaning, spot cleaning and scheduling. If the robovac runs out of charge, it automatically goes back to its charging point and auto-resumes from the point it paused earlier. It has a rated power consumption of 33W and running time of 60-130 minutes depending upon the modes.
Xiaomi is launching the Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P at an attractive price of Rs 17,999 in India. Xiaomi has gone with the crowdfunding model for this. One can back the product on mi.com store. Xiaomi is looking at a minimum of 10,000 orders for crowdfunding to be successful which is rather a steep ask despite attractive pricing. Apparently, it will only start shipping from September 15, 2020, which is a long time away.
