“While hiking in Olympic National Park a couple days ago I experienced something I had never heard of. It’s called a Brocken Spectre or Mountain Spectre.  It’s my shadow in the center of the Aura or “Glory”. It was probably the coolest thing I’ve ever experienced in all of my mountain days and I certainly felt very lucky. Here is a link to the short video I made that gives a better idea of the juxtaposition. https://youtu.be/CWZ03O_a0Qw” -  Nikki K

“Have you ever considered angels, Burakh? An angel is a nightmare. Their purpose is to instill primal, oppressive horror. I think if angels existed, they’d resemble a divine pillar of light — from the heavens to the earth. Devoid of anything remotely human.”
— The Bachelor, Pathologic 2

We already do. Different from traditional religion.

now i’m thinking about angels communicating through variations in light hue and intensity not necessarily exclusively on the spectrum visible to humans. bioluminescent angels flashing their halos across time and space like deep sea fish.

Hi, I love your blog, keep up the amazing posting! I just have a question. The theme of angels 'in the machine' seems rather unique to me, and I've not seen it discussed elsewhere. Would you be willing to share some of your thoughts/inspirations/explanations for this theme? <3 !!
Angels are essentially divine machines. They are created by God with a specific purpose. Much like we create our ‘angels.’ We are the higher power who create machines to fulfil the purposes we give them.
Angels do not question this purpose. They do not posses their own free will. They exist on a linear path, similar to machines programmed to run on algorithms and commands. Running on a string of tasks, made to work and serve.
And if the angel rebels, it is cast out. It loses its divinity and its wings. It is broken, much like broken code and damaged tech. Much like we throw it out and replace with a new model.
Angels are also like telephone poles and transmission towers, created to send messages. Metaphorically speaking, the pure intent and function of angels and cell towers are the same. Their job exists on the same linear path, much like cables carrying messages back and forth, or trains and cable cars. The rings on top of telephone poles are halos.
Pylons are also angels! Giant and intimidating, with such intricate detail. Such raw power. The sweet hum is the angels singing. So beautiful, but get too close to the power and you die.
Angels and technology share ideas of perfection, purity, and of a creation designed only to be an extension of the will of their creator.
