PS4 Pro, is it worth it?

          The topic I have chosen to critique on is gaming, in this critique I will be introducing a whole new level in gaming with the marvelous, powerful, and indeed extremely tempting PS4 Pro. This individual game console has a pretty powerful base with pros but still consists of three or four cons.

           The PS4 Pro is a very durable and tough console, weather in matters of hardware or exterior design. It gives a very fast and pleasing 4K and HDR experience which enhances your entertainment and gaming options. First of all let`s talk about the specs that are in this beast. The PS4 Pro has a Storage capacity of 1 TB ( 1000 GB ), 8-core AMD Jaguar CPU, 8 GB GDDR5 RAM, AMD Radeon RX 480 GPU at 4.2 Terra Flops, and plays 4k and HDR videos and games. These hardware specs are very rare and clean because most competitive consoles do not exceed or reach this power and combination, Xbox One S is in great competition with the PS4 Pro, but it’s unsuccessful in matters of 4K and HDR rendering.

          The PS4 Pro comes with the 4.07 latest software update, this update has a boost mode which enhances gaming experiences and is proven to boost your gameplay 40 framerates higher. The fan speed is fast and makes minimal noise at about 35db with TV volume, as a heavy duty gaming console it produces a lot of heat but the fans are very reliable because they cool the GPU and CPU at a consistent rate. The graphics are very rich and beautiful, at normal 1080p it runs smooth and sharp with greatly detailed shades and textures, this enables real world graphics and a pleasure to endure and remember each and every moment from a game or movie. The 4K and HDR are at a whole new level of gaming graphics, they run at a stunning 3840 pixels. Pixels and colors are more dynamic and rich, they show great difference and shadows from the smallest to the biggest objects and details. High dynamic range, HDR, adds difference in colors and defines the ratios and shades of the color that should be used at far range and close range. These two add ups tweak gameplay and entertainment experience at its optimal fullest. With 4K and HDR you can visualize and consume each and every pixel thoroughly just at your fingertips.

          As far as games and limited/exclusive edition gameplay and DLC's the PS4 Pro has a huge variety of genres to look into. Of course every console has games exclusively made for them but PlayStation's games are one of a kind and that usually pulls its audience towards itself. Some unforgettable titles are Uncharted collection, Infamous collection, The Last Of Us, and the one and only hella' cool God Of war Collection. These games stay mostly in the adventure, mystery/strategy, sci-fi, and action genre. So next time if you ever question the variety of the PlayStation market keep in mind that there's more in store for you than you can ever imagine. The games vary from $69-$79 if it was just released and if it's a little old at about 2or 3 months you can get it at $40-$50.

          In matters of stability and control the PS4 Pro doesn't out shine other major consoles but does a fine job at it. The Dual Shock 4 controller has been upgraded to a new sort of look, the rubber is more thick, gripped, and durable which resists oils on the skin and other minor wear and tear caused by intensive gaming. The PS4 Pro controller has an average size and fits into almost any hand, it comes with an interactive and stable touch pad that you can use for games, internet, and music. The speaker that is equipped in the controller turns on at any point in game when you earn a trophy or watch a cutscene. PlayStation added another light to the touchpad which indicates it's functionality if it's working or not. One huge light is located on the front side of the controller, this enables the user to customize and choose any color they desire on the controller. This particular element of gaming comes in many colors like blue, red, camo, and many more. The buttons and joysticks feel extremely comfortable and smooth, this allows great gameplay and focus.

          The material used to make the exterior and interior body of the console is very tough and durable, made of a hard mixture of plastic and rubber on the outside and metal, plastic, and rubber in the inside. The three layers of the PS4 Pro contain the hard drive, GPU, CPU, and other major components. The system contains 3 USB hubs, disc tray, and power and eject buttons, and lights. The bottom of the PS4 has four custom grips that resemble the triangle, square, circle, and the "x" of the PlayStation Company. The texture of the console is weird but rich, it gives a rough and crispy feel with a glossy shine on the PlayStation logo slapped in the middle. Each time you look at the PS4 Pro it shows a sign of satisfaction due to the very thick and bulky build along with shine caused by the gloss in the middle.

          Third party companies have contributed to the improvement of the Dual Shock 4 by making custom designs and features that fit and comfort any hand. There are two types of controllers released, the first one is Razer Raiju by razer and the Nacon Revolution made by Nacon Team. The Razer Raiju comes with two extra bumpers and two extra detachable triggers, built in headset and mic controls, two profiles which enable switching from one control scheme to another, hair triggers and extra compatibility for headphones or headsets. The Nacon Revolution is a simple and powerful design made for optimal gaming experience, it contains two joysticks similar to the ones of the Xbox One S, four extra shortcut buttons, four custom profiles that enable gameplay on PC too, two internal spaces for an extreme balance and weighted feel, and a strong durable cable that charges the controller. Both of these controllers are nice and upgrade the PlayStation experience by double the points.

           For a more realistic experience the PlayStation Company released their PlayStation VR (virtual reality). Now you don't need to imagine anything you can just pop on a VR Headset and experience a group of realms left to endure and discover like never before. The VR package comes with the PlayStation Move controllers, a docking station, PlayStation headphones, HDMI cable, power and adapter cables, and a free VR Worlds disc. This VR experience can be obtained for $450.

          Even though this major console is shining in the gaming market it still has some faults weather major or little. One of the major faults are the headphones because it only contains one bud and has somewhat poor sound technology, this could be enhanced if they add two buds and upgrade the sound. The cable for the normal Dual Shock 4 is not that durable and tears after a couple of months, they could improve this by adding braided cables. The fan should be located in the back for optimal air flow, this will cool the machine faster. This machine would get another star if it had a 4K HDR Blu-Ray player, unfortunately you can play 4K games and movies but if you ever got a disc it wouldn't work, it would be better because the Xbox One S has one. If there were no third party controllers than the PS4 Pro would lose to other major competitive consoles because its controller is pretty good but still needed some improvements towards the joysticks placements, the Xbox One S has quite a comfortable controller because of the joystick placements.

          Considering the fact that the PS4 Pro is a very powerful console it still beats many others and is currently at the top in the whole world even though it has some faults. This brand is extremely trustworthy and reliable because I have one and I am very happy with the experience it delivers.

          At last entertainment can be achieved from any aspect of technology even if it’s a PC, TV, Tablet, Phone, and Console. But the best way to consume ultimate happiness is to pick a piece of technology that can support your daily tasks and your minor enjoyments like surfing the web, watching 4K movies on Netflix, gaming with siblings, or enjoying an online tournament with friends. At this point your new best friend can always be the one and only ultra- powerful, beautiful and dazzling PS4 Pro.
