After much consideration while surviving the worst alcohol withdrawal of my life it's time to hang up my drinking cleats. Hepatitis and jaundice in June; seizures and delirium tremens in November. If I go for the hat trick that most likely would be death. Being sober is going to be the toughest thing I've ever done. It's my social drug, my liquid courage, pretty much my personality for the past 11 years. So many stories over the years. At least a quarter of my stand-up routine is because of alcohol. As great as that is I have no self-control. I'm an alcoholic I can't drink in moderation. It's all or nothing when I drink. I'll only allow myself a drink again if the Bengals or Blues win a championship, which I know will NEVER happen. It's been a good run.

What is your earliest childhood memory? 🐣🐥

My earliest memory is watching MTV in the early 90s, exclusively Beavis and Butthead and Ren and Stimpy. The earliest thing I can remember is a Beavis and Butthead music video commentary where Henry Rollins is yelling at me. Lmao

Doctor's orders I'm not allowed to drink liquor ever again; my main vice for 13 years. I am allowed to drink beer and wine in moderation after three months, and I'd rather drink those anyway. Still, I'm very scared that I don't have it in me to be sober. If I want to live I have to be, but I've used alcohol as a means to be social and come out of my shell. This is gonna be tough.
