He always has black gloves on; even when he sleeps. Skin Color: Tan Scars: None Piercings: Spider bites Tattoos: Family seal over his entire chest Hair Color: Orange Facial Hair: None Eye Color: Hazel Addictions: None Diet: Eats healthy but can indulge in sweets occasionally Exercise: Everyday Gender: Male Orientation: Gay Love Interests: Itzal and Rhys Sleep Patterns: A good 9 hours every night Persona: Hot headed, only steps in when Rhys and Ethan are having trouble keeping Itzal safe. He's very protective of his team and if he's the first to hear something bad about them, someone is getting beaten badly. Even so, he feels bad when Itzal scolds him for getting in trouble when they both mean well. Weapon: Shock batton/shotgun Weapon description: His weapon looks like a police batton, but can extent at the end to fire shots and shock on contact. It is coloured with a red scaled dragon with the mouth at the end of the barrel. Combat style: Flare is the leader and calls orders as so. He fights up close, making sure that each bullet hits. Like Rhys and Ethan, they do not watch their back because of Itzal. Though if the ringing of Sniper fire were to stop, he could easily still handle himself although he'd run to where Itzal was. While sparring he does not use the shock on his batton, or his semblance since it is last resort. He fights with his fists and delivers heavy blows with the batton. When he lands a hit during a match, you'll be sore for the next few days. Semblance: Uses his aura and rage to fight with fire. He hands and feet are engulfed in flames and he attacks relentlessly. Can take any amount of damage during this and will not be phased by it. Once done, he will pass out and need to cool his body temperature. ♥️-Itzal Silverman Age: 17 Zodiac Symbol: Leo Birth Date: July 8th Race: Cat Faunus Height: 4'10" Weight: 100 lbs Known Languages: English, Memory: Short term only Pet Peeves: People Likes: Sweets, his team, anything remotely with carbs, cuddles with guys Dislikes: Spicy food, mean Grimm, people who pick on him and his team Favorite Drink: Hot cocoa Favorite Food: Pasta Favorite Desert: Chocolate cake Favorite Musical Genre: N/A Favorite Pastime: Reading, singing quietly to himself Favorite Season: Winter Least Favorite Season: spring Accessories: Multicoloured wrist bands, ruby necklace Style of Clothing/Wardrobe: always fully clothed with a long sleeve and jeans, usually uses Flare's sweaters. Skin Color: Extremely pale Scars: None Piercings: Left earring Tattoos: Black rose over his heart Hair Color: Raven Facial Hair: None Eye Color: Left deep blue, right bright red. Addictions: Mac n' cheese Allergies: Cottonwood Diet: Pure carbs and sweets. Exercise: Somehow stays in shape especially with fast matabalism. Gender: Male Orientation: Gay Love Interests: Ethan and Flare Sleep Patterns: Insomniac, lucky if he gets 8 hours in a month Persona: Itzal always wears specially made headphones. He always has music on blast and if he doesn't, something is very wrong. When you can barely hear the music from his headphones, that means he's ready to listen. He talks very little and is very vulnerable. What makes him special and an easy target for bullies is that he has not one, but two animal traits; cat ears and a very long, sleak, black cat tail. He trusts only his team and relies on them for most everything. In combat his is considered support but his kill count on Grimm is higher than even Flare's. Weapon: Grimm Reminder Weapon description: The barrel is the entire length of the gun, accommodating for the heat dissipation. When he fires the rail gun shot, he loads he bullet into the barrel and has to charge the shot. What makes it so heavy is the bullet and the charge. The charge increases the density of the bullet with his semblance and the energy from around him. He never uses this because it is so hard to control with his lack of physical strength. Combat style: Itzal stays far out of reach or sight from any enemies, picking off stragglers or potential threats to his teammates. It is hard to find him when he's in action because of his size and because what he wears is all black and if not, very dark. Though his Sniper is loud, the amount of noise it causes makes it so the closer you get, the harder it is to pinpoint. During sparring matches (of the very few he does), Itzal will fire shots at his opponent and dodge every single attack. No one has touched him in a very long time, and he wins from the exhaustion of is opponent. Semblance: A healing effect that gives him more energy to fight on. Once he stops using it, he will pass out. ♥️-Rhys Clover Age: 18 Zodiac Symbol: Gemini Birth Date: June 4th Race: Human Height: 5'10" Weight: 145 lbs Known Languages: English Memory: Normal Pet Peeves: The sound of sniffing Likes: Fast paced action, his team, food, Roman's look Dislikes: Roman's personality, anyone who hates on his team, the colour parchment Favorite Drink: Green tea Favorite Food: Trick question; they're all his favourite Favorite Musical Genre: Techno Favorite Pastime: talking with his team Favorite Season: Autumn Least Favorite Season: Winter Accessories: Family Crest necklace, a ring for each teammate Style of Clothing/Wardrobe: Crop Top, Short shorts, high tops, black goggles Skin Color: Brown Scars: slash marks on his back from a Beowolf when he was young Piercings: None Tattoos: Green snake running from his right arm, down and around his chest, mid back, and abdomen, then down and around his left leg Hair Color: Bright green with blue tips Facial Hair: None Eye Color: Grey Addictions: Talking (According to Flare) Allergies: None Diet: Pretty much everything Exercise: Works out more than anyone Gender: Male Orientation: Gay Love Interests: Flare and Ethan Sleep Patterns: Gets a solid 8 hours Persona: Rhys is almost always talking and when he isn't he's either very upset, mad, or just in class. Even then he's always doodling in his notebook, writing fic about his teammates, and generally doing whatever he can think of. When he hears that Itzal is being picked on or someone is just talking shit about his team in general, he will seek them out and beat the living shit out of them. He gets in trouble for that a lot and is often scolded by Itzal, but says that he'll do it again as long as he can protect Itzal. An easy get off the hook but they know he means it. When they fight Grimm he's the one at the front, very happy to kill them mercilessly. He always had blacked out goggles on, even while sleeping like the rest of his team with their little traits. Oh and don't talk shit about what he wears. He hospitalized the last guy that did. Weapon: Razor blades Weapon description: Since he can't stop moving he wears roller skates in combat. But, the wheels are replaced shurikens for constant kicking. At will he can kick the shurikens can detach and throw, coming back unless they are disintegrated. Combat Style: Rhys moves extremely quickly and easily on any terrain. There's a rumour that he can move so fast he skates on water. While moving he will take shurikens and slash with his hands, but he mostly slashes with the fast spinning blades he uses to move. He was the scout on one mission but was talking to himself so that's not his job anymore. Once enemies are lured to him, expect to find only pieces of them. During sparring matches he normally uses his speed to dissy and disorient his opponent, then go in for a body ram to almost knock them out on several occasions. Semblance: He can slow down time, causing him to move much faster and take down almost anything. Upon using this, he will lose his personality in exchange for energy. Once done, he will fall to the ground and pass out. His aura slows down too quickly for his mind and muscles to cope with. ♥️-Ethan Gray Age: 18 Zodiac Symbol: Aquarius Birth Date: February 14th Race: Human Height: 5'11" Weight: 145 lbs Known Languages: English, secret Memory: Remembers the way you breathed 5 years ago Pet Peeves: People asking him about the mask Likes: Playing pranks, making sure Rhys gets blamed, teasing Itzal for various things Dislikes: Anyone picking on Itzal, questions about his wearing a mask, sour food Favorite Drink: drinks wine behind everyone's back Favorite Food: Steak Favorite Musical Genre: Classical Favorite Pastime: Playing pranks Favorite Season: Spring Least Favorite Season: Summer Accessories: Style of Clothing/Wardrobe: Always has long sleeves to hide his weapons. Normally wears jeans but in summer he wears shorts and arm socks that still hide them. Wears a mask that covers from the bridge of his nose down below his chin. Always a smiley face and doesn't ever take it off. Skin Color: White Scars: None Piercings: None Tattoos: Black writing on his cheek that only he knows Hair Color: Grey (Totally not white he's nOT GONNA DIE ON ME) Facial Hair: None (besides how would you know?) Eye Color: Blue Addictions: None Allergies: None Diet: Eats quite healthily actually Exercise: Only when he needs it Gender : Male Orientation : Gay Love Interests: Itzal and Rhys Sleep Patterns: Gets enough sleep. Persona: Ethan is a closet douche. When Rhys gets in trouble because of a prank, it was really Ethan. He's more mischievous than Rhys but gets the blame on him. When its just him and Itzal he's almost as sweet as the faunus. He doesn't like people asking about his past or family and will open up to people he trusts. Never trust the wide smile on his mask; it's not the good kind of grin. More like the "You're about to eat shit because Rhys fell for my plan again" grin. Weapon: Luck & Fortune Weapon description: Duel pistols with fast fire rate and dust modifications. The pistols turn into handles for the whips that wrap around his arm and are also compatible with dust. Combat style: The team scout, Ethan moves silently during combat. When the action starts, he takes out as many enemies as he can in one clip. This is achieved with the dust he gets from around town, as well as hitting close up enemies harder than they'd expect. When something has a little too much armour, he will switch to his whips and break it down. During sparring matches he will use a similar tactic of taking his opponent out quickly and easily. When that does not work he will use his whips to throw them off balance and take them down slowly. His tactics mat see rushed, but is a very patient person. Semblance: Shadow walking. Allows him to become intangible and almost invisible; only Itzal can see him and after a whole year with him it's still very fuzzy. He uses it to decimate anything that is far too threatening. After use he can barely stay conscious, unable to fight at all. One the first day of school, Rhys and Ethan immediately hit it off. While they were talking they saw Itzal (Who was even smaller since it was a year ago) and decided to play a little prank. When Itzal got lost in the halls, they poured ice water all over him. While they were laughing, they didn't see that Itzal was starting to cry. The young Lil' faunus ran off and that's when Flare stepped in. Rhys and Ethan got a good smack to the back of the head while Flare scolded them. Flare went off to find the cat crying to himself and cheered him up, also drying him off. During initiation, Flare and Itzal became partners while the troublemakers found eachother. When they were working to the relic, the pairs met. The pranksters apologized to the cat, who accepted it meekly. After that, Itzal proceeded to save Flare's, Ethan's, and Rhys' ass multiple times. They became a team with Flare as the obvious leader, each one never wanting to see Itzal sad again. The three older males already were sort of protective of themselves, but they knew that Itzal was much more vulnerable than they themselves. Extra little facts: 1.) Itzal can cook. Like, he's literally a housewife. His team couldn't be happier when they're out on long missions and anyone who's had his cooking would know why. His sweets, though, are a whole different story. When Itzal bakes it's the only time Flare will eat something sweet, which is really saying something. 2.) Flare and Ethan have interesting histories with their families, but Rhys and Itzal don't really. The smaller two males have awful histories that orphaned them before joining the school. 3.) If you ever see their room at night, there's always a certain little faunus studying or reading. It's also the only time you can see him wearing clothes that are way too big for him; Flare's clothes. When he arrived at the Academy he only had his combat outfit so Flare let's him borrow his clothes at night. 4.) Ethan convinced Itzal to cross dress. When Flare saw he got a nose bleed; but when Rhys showed up in a dress too, Ethan got one as well. Itzal died of embarrassment, Flare died of laughter, Ethan got some good pictures, and Rhys...well he just had fun. 5.) Because of his past, Itzal puts himself down a lot. He always has way too much time to himself so his thoughts go crazy. The others constantly reassure him that he's fine the way he is, but he still doesn't believe them. He thinks that he's a burden on them, especially in combat. He thinks they rely on him too much which is funny because truth be told, they'd be fine without him. Except in the worst of situations. 6.) When Itzal gets really happy he purrs and the others think it's adorable, but it just embarrasses him. 7.) Rhys knows to talk less to or around Flare, since he can be a really hot head. 8.) You won't get a straight answer if you ask why Rhys hates the colour parchment. 9.) Ethan has catnip hidden in his things. He hasn't used it yet because Flare knows about it. ☯️ Asher Felix Age: 18 Birth date: June 1st Zodiac Symbol: Gemini Race: Human Height: 6'3" Weight: 155 lbs. Known Languages: English Pet Peeves: None (He's just that chill) Likes: Sleeping, hanging with his friends and team, meeting new people. Dislikes: People messing with his friends or team, highly negative aura. Favourite drink: Jasmine tea Favourite food: Pocky Favourite music genre: Whale noises (...) Favourite Pastime: Sleeping Favourite Season: Winter Least favourite season: None Style of Clothing: light clothes and jeans for casual, plated armour tight against his body to keep him light and mobile. Accessories: Earrings and chain around his neck Skin colour: Pale Scars: Left bound diagonal slash across chest Piercings: Ten rings along his right ear. Tattoos: The word "Serenity" on his right wrist. Hair colour: Dark blue, almost black Facial hair: None Eye colour: Brown Addictions: Sleep Diets: Mostly healthy, indulges it candy occasionally. Exercise: Constantly is working out to keep his body in top shape for fighting. Gender: Male Orientation: Bisexual Love Interests: Major, Sleep Patterns: Sleeps more than anyone but somehow is never late. 12 hours on a normal day. Personality: Calm and collected, he's always kind to everyone he meets. If you manage to piss him off you are a legend. A legend that's about to be dead, but a legend nonetheless. Weapon: Wrist crossbows Weapon description: Similar to Yang Xiao Long's Shotgun gauntlets, two small crossbows mounted on his arms. Common place for grapplehook bolts, which can be replaced with dust bolts or nonlethal bolts for hitting pressure points from a distance. Normally glow neon colours that slowly fade to the next colour. Combat style: Jumps around, dodging all attacks and hits his opponents pressure points. Just a few hits in the right spots and his opponent can be rendered defenseless or motionless. Semblance: Ice aura. Anything he touches while using his semblance will freeze over with thick ice. Any extra information: When he wakes up he hangs out with the first people he sees which is occasionally team FIRE. Also sees his team members often. He's easy going so it's easy for him to get along with everyone unless he senses a hostile aura.

Lil’ FIRE Things
·         Flare
o   Will just hold Itzal. Like all the time. If he could hold him the way Canada holds Kumajirou he would
o   Makes bets all the time. He normally wins because of how long he’s been doing it and since he’s the team leader (good situational awareness)
o   Helps Asher forge his metals
o   Known for holding grudges forever
o   Knows what you did 2 years, 3 months, 1 day, 4 hours, and 27 minutes ago exactly how it happened
·         Itzal
o   Hates swearing (He won’t even let Flare swear when they do the do)
o   Can stare into your soul, that level of stare
o   Has an almost unhealthy obsession with roses
o   Listens to all music except: Jazz, rap, reggae, and death metal
o   Has been around the world
·         Rhys
o   Semi-poly with Ethan. They tend to sleep around but the more intimate things happen between the two of them. Rhys does it more so he can help people feel better about themselves for plenty of reasons
o   Uses his semblance all the time but people don’t know because he basically stops time
o   Can impersonate voices almost perfectly
o   Has also been around the world
o   Will sneak stuff to his teammates all the time, like little notes telling them to have a good day or pieces of candy
·         Ethan
o   Semi-poly with Rhys. He does it more to satisfy guys who are kind of shy or he thinks are cute
o   The only sore loser, even if there’s no chance he can win
o   Can also stare into your soul, having the mask makes it impossible to tell his mood
o   Would make an amazing tattoo artist if he had the supplies, he sometimes draws patterns on his arms when he’s bored
o   Is ambidextrous
o   Ironically, extremely faithful when Rhys needs him

“Guys! Guys you have to come see this!” Itzal was almost shouting as he ran into the dorm, Asher strolling in behind him after a moment. Ethan and Rhys were in their respective beds, doing homework they had been procrastinating on. Flare was on the floor doing push-ups like the cliché jock he almost was.
“What’s got you so excited? Oh, hey Asher.” Flare said, not pausing his work out to speak.
“Asher finish your armor! All of yours! And he added some really cool stuff.” Itzal exclaimed, almost bouncing with excitement. Asher chuckled lightly at his excitement and rubbed the back of his head.
“It’s nothing, really. It’s the least I can do for you guys sticking around Itzal. Who knows what would have happened if he stayed on his own much longer.” He laughed as Itzal hit him out of embarrassment.
“Hey I can take care of myself, thank you very much. Come on let’s go test them out!” With that the four students and their armorer set out for the training room. Rhys desperately wanted to drag along other teams to watch, but Ethan and Flare stopped him so they could add a little more personalization to it.
In the locker rooms Asher gave the boys their armor. They each split up so they would change in peace, as well as to keep it a surprise. Asher stood in the middle of the ring, waiting patiently for their return.
“I’ll give it to you, Asher. You make some good armor.” Flare said, stepping out into the ring. He was adjusting one of the gauntlets as he walked, a smirk over his face. Thick metal plating was fitted to his body, pure white with a red outline. He looked highly reminiscent of a knight, aside from his personal weapon which was hilted against his waist.
“Looking good, Flare. Have any trouble getting into it? I know the rubber isn’t exactly loose.”
“No no it’s perfect! I see why now too, thank you very much. I suppose I’m the first out, then?” Flare replied and stretched. Asher decided to nod in agreement. Just as Flare finished talking, Rhys dashed into the arena. He wore similar armor though it looked thinner. It was still white however, only with green accents. The plating even extended down to his boots, which now held his razor blades.
“This stuff is amazing Asher! Thank you so so much! Man I feel like I can take on the world; Flare lets spar!” As usual Rhys was hyper beyond measure, zooming around the other two over and over. Before he could beg Flare for a sparring match again, he was tripped. He gasped but quickly recovered, sliding to a stop.
“That’s how you ruin your skates and the floor, idiot.” Ethan said from the entrance to the locker room. In line with the pattern, his armor was white with grey highlights on the edges. All three of them had their symbol on the right hand guard, as well as on the right gauntlet.
“All right all right, time for the explanation.” Asher said as Rhys and Ethan moved to stand next to Flare.
“These suits are tough, I guarantee it. They’ll take a lot of hits for you but don’t rely on them too heavily. Now because that wasn’t enough for my standards, I added some extra pieces. Just like Itzal’s suit you all have a sword and shield built in. Yours are the gauntlets, while his remain on the thigh plates. In addition to those, your thigh plates can double as storage. Snacks, equipment, dust, ammo, you name it. They won’t hold much but it will certainly help. You also all have cleats so rough terrain will be less of a problem, but you also have a grappling hook on the underside of the left gauntlet. Fired straight up it can go about three stories and hold twice your weight. After all these were designed specifically for you.”
As Asher spoke the three inspected their armor along with what he described. Ethan put two clips into his side plates, while Flare chuckled and watched Rhys put a bag of chips in his. How he got them there without anyone seeing was beyond the team leader.
“What about Itzal? Why is his different? Also where is he?” Rhys asked, looking towards the smith.
“I’m right here.” Itzal stood in the doorway of the opposite locker room. Instead of the white, however, his set was switched. The primary color was a dark grey with royal swirling designs running across it. His family crest was bold on a larger left shoulder plate.
“Whoa, you look amazing Itz! Where’d you get that design?” Rhys smiled brightly. The other two looked at him in awe as well.
“Well Jaune helped me design the shape, but the color and other little details were all Asher. Oh, and my set is different because it was the prototype. Asher promises to help you guys spice your sets up, too.” He walked over to join them, in steep contrast to them in coloration. Unfortunately for him, his armor now accented his paleness, causing it to stand out even more.
“Could be better.” Ethan mumbled, his jealousy showing. Rhys only laughed at him and patted him on the back.
“Well I think you look amazing, babe.” Flare kissed the faunus’ cheek making him smile with a soft blush.
“Now, don’t you want to test’em out? Come on I didn’t break my back over these just so you could pose in them! How about a 2v2, couple versus couple? What do you say?” Asher said and stepped down off the arena. Itzal and Flare smiled at each other before moving to one side of the floor. Rhys was spluttering at the mention of him and Ethan being a couple. He was under the impression that it was a secret, as was Ethan but he knew it was only a joke. Right? In fact it was fairly obvious they were dating, but since they thought they were being sneaky Itzal and Flare wouldn’t ruin it for them. Once the other two were in position, Asher took a step forward.
“First pair to knock the other out wins! Ready, set, go!” As soon as Asher said go, Ethan pulled up his pistol and fired at Flare. In response, the team leader dodged out of the way and fired back. Itzal had instantly gone for Rhys, pouncing at him. It took him by surprise, but he was still too fast for the faunus. Being so close to where they started, Itzal spun around, grabbed Ethan’s left pistol, then fired at Rhys.
“Hey get your own!” Ethan shouted, annoyed. Right as he began to turn his head back to Flare, said male tackled him with a loud thud. Ethan rolled back and got up shakily, his head spinning. Without a chance to fully recover, Flare was upon him again. This time he swung with his baton, electricity sparking off of it menacingly. The masked student struggled to dodge each swipe, knowing he’d be sore for the next week if he made contact. He was quickly regaining his composure, his dodges faster and more precise. Flare decided to back off, aiming at him. Ethan raised both hands to fire, then groaned at the realization that Itzal still had one of his pistols.
Meanwhile, Itzal was firing at Rhys with accuracy that was a little too good for the skater. Ethan lunged at the faunus only for him to jump out of the way. He was gracious enough to drop the pistol in Ethan’s hand before kicking him in the face. In his forward motion he went for Rhys, but again he was too quick. Itzal recovered into a roll and pulled his shield out just in time to block a swipe from Rhys’ blades.
“You could have taken my head off!!” Itzal yelled angrily, glaring at Rhys. He couldn’t tell if Rhys knew he would have been fast enough to block or even dodge, but the intent was still there.
“Sorry!” Rhys apologized sheepishly, slowing down to give his opponent a meek smile. He barely had time to dodge the shield being thrown at his head, which in turn went right between Flare and Ethan as they clashed. Flare and Ethan looked at each other than to Rhys with a sympathetic look, before going back to their own fight. They all knew an angry cat was not a good one. Itzal pulled his rifle off his back and aimed at Rhys, wanting blood. All Rhys could do was turn tail and run towards the other two.
“Trade!” Rhys said and spun Ethan around, pushing him towards Itzal. Flare blinked, confused for a moment, then chuckled at the poor fate for his soon to be dead friend.
“W-what no wait! Flare kick my ass just not Itzal!” Too late. As soon as he turned to face the shorter male, the butt of Itzal’s rifle made contact with his face. Knocked flat on the floor, Ethan saw stars as the faunus stepped on his back.
“Stay down?” He asked once, some of the tension leaving his body. Flare and Rhys were watching the whole time, shaking their heads.
“Stay down…” Was the response Itzal got, smirking a little as he walked past him towards Rhys. Flare chuckled once before kicking Rhys away from himself. Itzal was walking towards him with an evil glint in his eye. Normally the faunus was sweet and kind, but going a little too far in sparring matches really pushed his buttons. Normally it was by accident; reflexively grabbing his tail, ripping his clothes, as well as almost actually killing him were all actions that could warrant the murder cat. Rhys would rather steal Itzal from Flare and deal with his anger than the cat’s.
“You’re so dead, you know.” Flare said smugly, interrupting Rhys’ thoughts. He shook his head and lunged at the other male suddenly, hoping to at least take out Flare before Itzal joined in. His punches and kicks were dodged by the taller male but just barely so. He raised his shield in defence, the sound of metal on metal ringing out through the room. Flare began to back up, each block throwing him off balance as Rhys’ attacks continued. Finally, his shield was knocked wide, leaving him exposed, and in the time that he could blink Rhys kicked him onto his back. He stood over the panting team leader, smiling in triumph. It was short lived, however, as he remembered the other, very present, threat. He turned around to face where he was. The last he thing he saw was the end of Itzal’s sniper rifle coming for his face.
“He’s fine! Besides he almost killed me!” Rhys opened his eyes, still dazed. Above him Itzal and Flare were arguing, though it was more of Flare hoping Itzal would apologize.
“I understand, but he could have a concussion, as thick skulled as he is. You could at least say sorry for knocking him out, Ethan didn’t pass out!”
“He almost took off my head!!” Itzal yelled back, before sighing and crossing his arms.
“Sorry for knocking you on your ass, Rhys…” The faunus mumbled, pouting. Rhys sat up with the help of Ethan who was smiling under his mask. Both were still a little dazed from the hit to the head, but otherwise fine. Their ego would come back in no time.
“It’s all right, Itzal. I did go a little too far. Though Ethan didn’t deserve the hit as much.” Itzal sighed once more and nodded, looking down. Just then Asher walked up onto the arena floor.
“Good job, all of you! Now it was pretty one sided but it was still very good. Make sure to use everything at your disposal. Those grappling hooks can help you trip someone fast. Or like how Itzal used it, shields can be used for offense too. I’m glad you can handle yourselves, though.” Asher smiled ever so slightly at the four of them.
“Just, don’t kill them eh, Itzal? They are part of your team, after all. Oh, and I’ll get designing the rest of your suits when you give me designs.” With that, Asher walked out of the large room, leaving team FIRE to their own devices.

Honor
“Really? I should have guessed he would come for me.” Ethan mumbled as his scroll buzzed with a message from Ozpin. “Have fun wasting time.” Itzal said from his own bed. Rhys and Flare were off sparring while Ethan and Itzal had elected to stay in the dorm. “But I don’t wanna go!” The masked student whined, highly reminiscent of a certain green haired boy they knew. Come back in 15 minutes and I’ll make you your favorite dinner.” The faunus mumbled, not once looking up from his book. Ethan was halfway to the tower in a heartbeat. “Finally, peace and quiet.” With that, Itzal laid back and continued to read.
“You…wanted to…see me?” Ethan panted and stumbled out of the elevator. Ozpin raised an eyebrow at him silently, but ultimately didn’t comment on his state. “Yes, please, sit.” Ethan obliged and quickly regained his breath. “So, what do you want to know?” As much as Ethan resented Ozpin, he still showed him a kind of disciplined respect. “You four certainly catch on quickly. All right, I want to know why you’re still here.” He asked plainly, making Ethan widen his eyes.
There was a brief pause before he could respond. “Because I haven’t finished school?” He said sheepishly out of character, which earned him a blank stare in return. Try again. “Fine, I’m still here because…because…” The normally cool and smart ass student found himself at a loss for words. “You could have left long ago, yet you didn’t. Yet you still wear that mask.” Ozpin said firmly before taking a sip of his coffee. “I’m still here because of them!” Ethan almost yelled, his composure completely gone. “I can’t just abandon them! Even if I was supposed to…they’re my friends, my team. If I disobey my family to prove to them that I’m a good person, then I’ll do it. I’ll wear this mask with pride if it means I stay with them.”
There was a silence that hung in the room after Ethan’s moment. He had regained his composure but now the silence was drawing uncomfortable. “I see. I believe that will be all.” Once again Ethan widened his eyes, but said nothing, getting up. “If you are so defiant as to stay with them, I don’t believe you should still be wearing that mask. The definition of honor your clan taught you isn’t the only one. And I believe you have plenty of it.” Though it wasn’t visible, Ozpin could tell Ethan was smiling under that mask. “Hurry along, you only have a minute to get back, else Itzal won’t cook for you.” Ethan widened his eyes and began to spam the ‘close doors’ button on in the elevator. “Shit I’m not gonna make it!” was the last thing Ozpin heard as the doors shut.
“I’m back! Did I make it??” Ethan shouted as he sprinted into the room. “E-ethan!” Itzal jumped at quickly moved. Flare was over Itzal on his bed, the two having been making out. “Oh~?” Ethan began to smirk, evidence of such in his voice. “W-we weren’t doing anything!” Flare sighed and sat back, running a hand through his hair. “Way to kill the mood, Mask Man. And no, you were obviously late.” Itzal only hid himself under the covers. “Don’t tell Rhys he can’t keep secrets!” Ethan sat on his own bed and chuckled darkly. “Don’t worry I won’t, but someone has to cook for me.” Just as Itzal popped out of the blankets to glare at him, Rhys walked in. “Cooking? For who? Oh is Itzal gonna cook??” His eyes lit up at the last sentence. “Yup, for the next week Itzal is making dinner.” Rhys jumped in excitement. “Yay! I’ll be right back, I have to go grab my bag.” With that, he ran off. “You’re a real ass, Ethan.” Flare said and hugged his now pouting boyfriend. “Aww thanks, love you too Hot Shot.”

Lucky You
"You wanted to see me sir?" Rhys asked as he stepped out of the elevator into Ozpin's office. Once again a member of team FIRE was called up to speak with the headmaster, for a reason they still didn't know. Said headmaster was currently standing at the window overlooking Vale, coffee mug in his hand. "Yes, please, sit down. I'd just like to talk to you for a moment." Rhys obliged and sat, still staring at the man's back. "Are you going to ask really evasive questions about me like you did with the other two? Because there isn't much more to know than what you've heard or what's in my file." The student said, voice never changing and eyes never moving. "How long do you think you can last?" Ozpin asked while turning towards the student. "However long as my luck runs," Rhys responsed confidentially. "What do you think makes you so lucky? It's not your semblance that much is certain." Rhys pondered the statement for a moment as Ozpin sat. "I don't really know. I suppose it could be I was just born with it. Especially if there are unlucky people, since there has to be balance." At this he grinned widely. "It doesn't apply everywhere though. Especially when Ethan pulls me into one of his tricks." "And you fear letting him down?" The headmaster asked. "Of course! But not as much as losing my brother. To not be able to see the one piece of family I have left ever again? I couldn't bear it." He said, his voice softer now. "We all have fears, sir, it's just about how we go around them." Rhys smiled once more and stood up. "Fears are part of what keeps us alive, whether you like it or not." He chuckles. Ozpin couldn't help but crack a smile. "I'm glad you know that. I think that will be all, Rhys." "All right sir." He replied and stood up. "You know though, we're close to figuring out why you're doing this." He smiled and walked towards the elevator. "We're a good team you know. Communication is key." Ozpin merely nodded as the student left his office.

Not a Kitten Anymore
"Itzal help me!" Rhys shouted just as the faunus neared the room. Itzal quickly ran to the door, panicked and ready to fight. "Rhys what's...wrong." His toned changed from worried to annoyed quite fast as he saw the situation. Ethan was sitting on Rhys' back as he layed on the ground with Flare holding some pills. "Please help I-I swear I don't need it!" He said and struggled. "You're sick, Rhys. You need your medicine whether you like it or not." Flare said and force fed him the pills. Itzal merely shook his head and set his bag down. "Way to scare me..." He mumbled and looked at his scroll, which had just come up with a message. "Great, I'll be back soon." He said and left the dorm. "Where do you think he's going?" Ethan asked and sat on his bed while Rhys sat up. "Maybe the Infirmary." Rhys said and rubbed his wrists. "I dunno. Guess it's important though." Flare piped in and layed on his own bed. "You wanted to see me?" Itzal asked coldly as he walked up to Ozpin's desk. "Bad mood?" He responded, taking a sip of his coffee. "Yeah this is preventing me from doing work you asked me to." Itzal almost snapped back and sat down. It was going to be longer than a small chat. "Well this has the same degree of importance to me." The headmaster said and leaned back in his chair. "So tell me, Itzal, what are you scared of?" At this the student widened his eyes. "Scared of? Don't you already know?" "Well in broad terms yes. But I would like to know exactly, according to you." Itzal sighed and nodded. "Fine...I guess I'm scared of letting my team down; of losing my family again." The room was silent for a few minutes, the faunus waiting for a reply from Ozpin. "I see. And you think that they aren't capable?" Ozpin finally asked. "W-what? I never said that! They're amazingly capable at anything that challenges them! I just don't want to bring them down by needing them to watch my back..." He mumbled and looked down. "Why do you care to know anyway?" He then asked, looking back up at the headmaster. "Believe it or not, I care about my students. You may go now." At this the faunus sighed and stood up, walking towards the elevator. "Got a funny way of showing it, you know. Fine, just make sure it's a little more important next time, ok?" Itzal said as the doors closed.

Sparks Don’t Go Out
“Huh? Ozpin wants to see me?” Flare mumbled as he looked at his scroll. Itzal looked up at the male he was laying on top of, setting his book down. “Oh really? Huh, that’s different. Well don’t let me keep you.” He said softly and rolled of the orangette onto the bed. Flare stood up and stretched. “See ya later, kitten.” He said with a smile and headed towards the main tower. “I wonder what he wants with me. It’s not like I’d be in trouble like Ethan or Rhys.” He said out loud to himself.
When Flare reached the top of the tower in the elevator, he stepped out and towards Ozpin who was sitting at his desk. “Flare, please, sit.” The headmaster said and gestured to the open chair on the opposite side of his desk. The second year student took the seat and put his hands in his lap. “Why did you want to see me, sir?” He asked blandly. “My my, none of you kids want to small talk. Always right to business.” Ozpin said and shook his head with a small smile. “I called you here to talk about your team, and how you are doing with them.” He said and sat back. “Well, there’s not much to talk about. You send us on the occasional mission and we do them to the best of our ability. In school we focus and get the grade.” The leader of team FIRE said and elected to stay upright in his seat. “No, that is not what I mean. What do you think of your teammates? How do you think of yourself as their leader?” He asked, now leaning forward with a penetrating stare.
Flare sighed softly and rubbed his arm. “Well, Itzal is great. I suppose it’s obvious I’d think that since I’m dating him. He’s an amazing fighter and incredibly intelligent. I’d say his only flaw is that he thinks that he has to do everything when he has us to lean on for support, no matter what it is.” He said and shook his head. “The other two, now they’re something. Reckless, brash, loud and quiet at the same time, always making a lot of wrong choices.” At this Ozpin chuckled. “So you think they’re doing harm to your work as a team?” Flare widened his eyes a little at this question. “No sir, not at all. Rhys keeps us going if it gets rough and Ethan is a cunning strategist. They don’t harm anything other than who they see as our enemy.” Ozpin stayed silent for a moment, causing Flare to look around a bit as if he was meant to keep talking. “What about you? What do you think of your performance?”
“Well…I suppose that I’m doing well. They never complain about any of the orders I give out or go out of their way to do something to mean unless it’s one of Ethan’s pranks.” Once again the headmaster shook his head. “That’s what you’re taking from them. What do you think of your actions?” The orangette looked down and said nothing for a moment. “I think I’m not doing enough for them. They don’t complain but I can’t tell if it’s out of respect or out of fear of reticule. I feel like I don’t provide enough for the team I’m leading, and I fear it could cause them to come into harm’s way.” He said and looked up at the headmaster, a fire in his eyes. “I see…thank you. That is all.” Ozpin said and turned around in his chair, facing the window. Flare opened his mouth to speak but decided against it, getting up and leaving back to his dorm.
“How was your meeting?” Itzal asked when Flare stepped into their dorm. Ethan and Rhys were on their own beds studying. “It was…weird.” He responded and sat down. “I really don’t know how to feel about it. Gave me a lot to think about, that’s for sure.” Itzal set his book down and kissed Flare’s cheek. “Don’t worry about it, ok? I’m sure he’s just doing it to mess with your head.” The faunus smiled before returning to his book. “Only thing you should be stressing over is the test coming up.” Rhys said and sighed. “Maybe I really should have payed attention in class…” He mumbled and put his head down. Ethan just chuckled as Flare grabbed his own papers. “Told you, greeny.” The masked student said, said mask hiding his smirk.

Rhys Isn’t Smiling
At the beginning of Spring, the last snow storm to hit Beacon was coming through. Itzal was walking down the hall on his way back to his dorm. Right as he got to the door Rhys walked out and towards the mess. “Oh hey, Rhys…?” Itzal was cheery at first, but he trailed off when he saw the other not smiling. “Rhys?” He asked softly but was ignored. He walked into the room and looked at his other teammates. “What’s wrong with Rhys? He wasn’t smiling at all…” He mumbled and sat in Flare’s lap. “He woke up like that. I wonder what’s up with him.” The hot head replied. “I think I know why he’s upset.” Ethan said and sighed deeply. “Today is the anniversary of when he lost his family.” Itzal widened his eyes at this. “Wait really? I had no idea…why didn’t he tell us?” Flare pulled the faunus closer and kissed his head. “He doesn’t want us to worry. Like a certain someone I know.” He said and nuzzled the smaller male, making the cat giggle. “Let’s go find him. At the very least make sure he doesn’t spread that sadness.” Ethan got up along with Flare who was carrying Itzal on his shoulders.
“Oh, hey guys.” Rhys was sitting on a bench outside. The snow storm had cleared up mostly, but it was still coming down lightly. The whole place was silent except for the wind and footsteps leading up to Rhys. “Hey there bud.” Flare sat to his left and set Itzal in his lap, while Ethan sat to Rhys’ right. “Wanna talk about it?” Itzal asked softly. “I don’t know, really. This is the only time that I don’t know what to say.” Flare chuckled a bit. “Then say what’s on your mind.” Rhys smiled a bit and nodded. “All right. I guess if I talk about my family like Itzal did last year it will help. A long time ago, I lost my family in a pretty bad way. And I guess it still gets to me? Ugh well…I wasn’t that bad of a kid.”
“Come on bro let’s go! Mom and Dad are waiting for us!” A young Rhys said excitedly. He was ten years old, and his brother a year younger. “Wait up Rhys! You’re a lot taller than I am!” The smaller male said and finally caught up to the greenette. “Aww come on Brent you can handle it.” Rhys said and chuckled. “Not you, though. You’re way too fast for me! And for Mom and Dad.” Brent said and crossed his arms. “Well then how about we go make sure we’re not too far ahead? I think they were still packing when I challenged you to that race.” Rhys held his hand out to the younger male and Brent took it, the pair walking back to their home. “I hope they didn’t need our help.” Brent said softly. “Oh don’t worry I’m sure they got it.”
“W-wait, Rhys what’s t-that?” Brent asked as his voice became shaky, pointing to the sky. There was a large plume of smoke coming from the direction of their house. “Come on we need to get back!” Rhys said and ran back with Brent in tow. When they arrived at their house the whole place was aflame, no sign of their parents. “Nononononono!” Brent said and ran closer to the house, only to be stopped by Rhys. “No you can’t go in there! Brent it’s too late if they’re in there…we have to look around and hope they weren’t inside.” He said, trying to keep his own cool. “I…you’re right…I’m sorry I just…” Rhys turned his younger brother and hugged him, sighing softly. “It’s ok, Brent. I’m just as worried as you are. Now let’s go.” The two began to search around the house, looking for any sign of their parents.
“Rhys…?” Brent asked meekly. The two had been searching for half an hour at least and found nothing. “I know…I…I don’t know what to do.” Rhys said grimly and sat against a tree. “They can’t be…” Just as Brent hugged him, there was a rustling in the brush in front of them. “Wait, there. Let’s go check it out.” Rhys said and held Brent’s hand as they walked. When they came out to a small clearing Rhys instantly covered his brother’s eyes. Unfortunately, it was too late for him; Brent had seen the start of what Rhys wanted to hide from him. In front of them was a few WhiteFang members standing around their parents. Before they knew it two gunshots rang out their parents lie dead. Rhys as fighting back tears and losing, while Brent was trying to keep quiet. Rhys picked up the smaller male and made his way away from the other men. “W-we need to leave…” Rhys said softly and began to run.
“After that we hid around for a long time...Brent left to go do his own thing, but I get letters from him occasionally. I think he might visit soon but, definitely not today.” Rhys mumbled to his team. Itzal moved over and hugged the green haired male tightly. “I’m so sorry Rhys, but you have us too. I’m sort of like a mom and Flare is definitely a dad.” Itzal smiled. “Yeah, I guess you could call him that. You of all people Itz-ow!” Ethan was hit in the head with a book and fell off the bench into the snow. “Where did you even get a book you came out here with nothing!!” Ethan yelled and sat up. Rhys smiled softly then laughed. “I get it. And Ethan is like the really annoying older brother.” Ethan widened his eyes and looked at him. “Whoa wait a minute, don’t call me your brother when I’m your boyfriend Rhys. That’s just too weird.” Rhys turned deep red and glared daggers at Ethan. “What? All I said was…oh…”
Itzal and Flare looked at each other then laughed. “We already knew. You’re not hard to read, you know.” Flare said and held Itzal close. “Ugh Ethan you’re the worst sometimes!” Rhys said and covered his face. “How about I make it up to you?” The masked student asked and moved Rhys’ hands. He quickly moved his mask to the side which faced Flare and Itzal, then kissed the greenette. Itzal gasped softly then smiled. When Ethan replaced his mask, he was hit square in the jaw with a snowball. “Come on you two love birds, let’s have some fun!” Itzal said and threw another at the two. Flare aimed for Itzal as Ethan got up and joined them. Rhys sat there for a moment in a daze from the kiss, since Ethan never moved his mask for anyone. Except for just now. “Are you coming or what, lazy bones?” Flare asked Rhys before he was hit in the head with a snowball. “Heh, oh yeah!” Rhys got up quickly and joined the fray, a grin spread wide on his face.

Just Friends
“Are you sure you want to go out on a date? You really like to keep all this serious…” Rhys said softly and sighed, looking at Ethan. “Y-yeah, it’s ok. As long as we don’t see anyone we know it’ll be fine. It is a school day after all.” He replied and grabbed his bag. “You’re lucky I’m like this at all…” Rhys laughed and hugged the slightly taller male. “Don’t worry! I know how to keep a secret.” The greenette took the masked student’s hand and walked out of their otherwise empty dorm, leaving towards the city. “I hope you’re right about this.” Ethan mumbled as they left the school.
“Where do you want to go?” Rhys asked and swung their hands a little. “I think there’s a nice café over there.” Ethan said and pointed. “Oh sure, sounds great!” The pair walked towards the café and looked up at the menu. “I think I’ll just get a decaf.” Ethan looked at his partner with a raised eyebrow. “Wait really? Like, seriously?” Rhys looked at his counterpart with a tilted head. “What? It’s just coffee.” Ethan shook his head and sighed. “Nothing. I’ll get a frappe.” He said and ordered for them, paying for them as well. “What? I could have payed, babe.” Ethan just blushed a little and rubbed his arm. “It’s fine, don’t worry about, it.” Rhys laughed a little and sat down with Ethan in a booth. “Aww, it’s so different for you to be so sweet! Are you sure you’re the Gray I know and love?” Rhys said and smiled brightly. Ethan couldn’t help but chuckle, sitting back. “Yes it’s me all right, I just want you to have a good time. Even if I don’t really show it…you deserve it.” Ethan said and when his name was called for the order, he rose and left to grab their drinks.
“Hey there Rhys.” “WAHH!” Rhys jumped and almost fell out of his chair at the familiar voice. “Whoa it’s ok, it’s just me.” Sun said and laughed a bit. “O-oh, hi Sun!” Rhys said loudly, causing Sun to give him a look. “Umm, happy to see me?” In the background Ethan scrambled to grab the drinks and hide himself behind a couple sitting at a nearby table. “Heh, o-oh sure yeah!” Sun shook his head and sighed, though a smile graced his lips. “You really are something. You here with someone?” The faunus asked as his smile turned into a smirk. “N-no why would you ever think that?? I-I’m just here on my own!” The greenette said nervously and flashed a fake smile. “All right? You’re acting kinda strange today. Hey do you want me to get you a drink?” He asked making Ethan glare at the monkey now. Rhys smiled meekly and rubbed the back of his head. “Oh, no. I already ordered something.” “Then I’ll go wait for it. I already got something so I’ll be right back.” Before Rhys could stop him, Sun was walking towards the counter. Ethan stealthed around the table to stay out of eyesight of Sun then quietly made his way back to Rhys.
“What was that? Are you trying to flirt with him??” Ethan said and set their coffee’s down, still crouched down. “W-what no way! He’s just being really nice and I don’t know how to turn him away!” Rhys yelled/whispered, quickly taking a sip of his coffee. “Oh wow this is good.” Ethan sat down and drank a little of his. “I know right?” “I didn’t see anything up there with your name on it- oh Ethan! What are you doing here?” Sun asked, holding his own drink and standing next to the pair.
“S-Sun!!” Rhys jumped and so did Ethan, both moving a little away from him. “I-I just got here, I was thirsty so I stopped for a drink!” Ethan said quickly and sweatdropped. “Oh, cool. Wait, did you two meet here?” “No we’re just friends!!” Both males said quickly and loudly. Sun sipped his drink then smirked. “Oh, I see…” Ethan groaned and slammed his head on the table. “Oh please don’t tell anyone Sun!” Rhys begged and put his hands together. “Don’t worry! I won’t worry it for you two, your relationship after all. I think you two are cute together. I’ll leave you to your date now, see ya!” Sun said and walked away, sipping his drink. Rhys looked at Ethan when the masked student looked up, then laughed. “I think it’s a pretty good date, don’t you think?” He asked with a wide smile.

i think there should be AU’s and then there should be UA’s
because Universe Alterations would be a good name for when your characters are in the exact same universe but you’re altering just a couple of plot points or a few character traits

Armour Fitting
After a sparring match, in which Flare beat Ethan on his ass, they returned to the locker room accompanied by Rhys. “What, can’t handle you got beat again short stuff?” Flare asked and chuckled, changing out of his combat clothes. “Shut up...I only let you win because I felt bad for you and Itzal.” Ethan mumbled into his locker. At this he received a smack to the back of the head, causing Rhys to laugh. “You lost, man. Don’t push it. It is a little odd he’s hanging out with Asher so much.” He commented. “He means a lot to Itzal, and he’s one of his few good memories. Let him have his fun.” The orangette said and grabbed his bag. The trio began to walk back to their dorm, Rhys and Flare poking fun at Ethan for getting his ass kicked.
“Are you sure it’s the right measurement? I think I was squirming a bit let’s do it again.” Itzal said in an apologetic tone. “No no it’s fine, it got it. I have to add an inch to make sure it’s not too snug. It’s armour but I can’t strangle you now can I?” Asher replied, taking the tape away from the faunus’ body. “If you say so…can you really do it for the other’s too?” He asked the taller male. “Of course! I’m quite talented you know. As long as I get the measurements, they’ll be set. But it’ll take longer since I already have yours pretty much ready.” The adult replied. Itzal gave a small nod in response and smiled. “Thank you so much Asher, it means a lot.” He said and sat down on his bed. “Of course bud. I’m always protecting you. And if I protect the people that are protecting you, then I’m indirectly protecting you. As long as your team does their job.” He said with a chuckle. “Oh haha. Now do I get to see what exactly I’m getting myself into?”
When the trio entered the dorm, they were greeted with the sight of Asher snoring on Itzal’s bed, with the cat silently reading next to him. “Oh, hey guys.” He said, turning the volume down on his iconic headphones. “Sup KitKat© (Sponsored).” Flare said and set his bag down. “How’d you knock him out? I couldn’t touch him when we sparred.” Rhys said and threw himself onto his own bed. “He passed out a few minutes ago. And tomorrow, he’ll have a surprise for you.” The cat said with a Cheshire grin. While he spoke Flare moved over, kissed his boyfriend on the cheek, and plopped onto his own bed. “It involves you, huh? Kind of hard to miss since you two have been hanging so much lately. More than usual.” At this Ethan scoffed. “Almost like you’re cheating on the team leader with the hypersomnia.” Just as he finished a book hit the gray haired male in the back of the head, causing him to fall over. “Ow! You little…” He mumbled and rubbed the back of his head. “Excuse you but I don’t cheat. Hand it back, please.” Sure enough the masked student handed the book back begrudgingly, earning a chuckle from Flare and Rhys.
“Where are they?” Rhys said impatiently and tapped his foot. The next day he, Ethan, Flare, JNPR, and SN were waiting in the sparring room for Itzal and Asher to reveal their surprise. “Must be a good surprise.” Sun commented. “Why are you here again?” Ethan asked and looked at the monkey. “Because your cat asked me to be here. Same with them because of their blonde.” Sun said and pointed to Jaune. “Think he’s got a thing for blondes?” Ethan asked and leaned against the wall. “I hope not, that would mean I have to step up my game.” Flare said and folded his arms. “Sorry we’re late!” Asher said and jogged into the room. “Itzal is changing. He’s going to need someone to fight real quick.” “Ethan.” Rhys and Flare said at the same time. “Wait what?? I got my ass kicked last night I don’t need the cat to kick me while I’m down!” Rhys just pushed Ethan out with a laugh. “We’ll owe you, how about that?” Ethan sighed and hung his head. “I don’t think it’ll be worth it…”
“So, how do I look?” Itzal said, standing in the middle of the sparring floor. Instead of his usual hoodie and jeans, he was wearing plated silver (Haha) armour that covered his body, except for the large joints. “Wow…you’re pretty kitted out now.” Flare said in remark. “And he’s gonna make one for you too. The whole team! But for now, want to see what little extra bit’s I have now?” All Ethan could do was sigh and take a fighting stance. Ethan had his weapons, but Itzal did not have his rifle. “Ready?” Ethan asked, though mainly asking himself out loud. Itzal just laughed a bit and ran at him. He dodged Ethan’s shots, swiping at him when he got close enough. Being more agile, Itzal quickly landed hits on the taller male. “Dammit…” Ethan mumbled and blocked one hit, the sound of metal on metal ringing out in the room. Claws on the hand guards clashed against the gray haired male’s pistols. Itzal jumped back and flicked his right arm down, the plate expanding into a shield with his family crest on the front. He then tapped his thigh with his other hand and grabbed a piece of metal that popped out of the plate. It quickly formed into an engraved rapier. “Aww what’s wrong, Ethan? Forget I can use any weapon?”
Ethan was promptly thrown onto the floor after a few swipes of the sword. He got up and pulled out his whips, using ice dust to hopefully slow him down. A few hits landed and formed ice on the cat, causing him to gasp. “H-hey I’m wearing metal here!” He swung his tail around which now had spikes over it, smashing the ice off. “Hmm…what about this?” Ethan mumbled and hit the ground, freezing it over. Itzal jumped a little and smirked, the cleats in the boots keeping him in place. “Asher I swear to god my set better be this good!” Ethan said before being punched square in the stomach by the faunus.
“Why is it always my ass being kicked?” The defeated male said with a groan. “Aww come on at least you gave it a good try!” Itzal said and helped him up. “Don’t worry, your armour will be just as good.” He giggled softly. “Thanks so much Asher!” The afore mentioned male smiled and nodded in response. “Hey, so what’s it take to get me a suit of that armour?” Sun asked Itzal in a sort of sly but maybe flirtatious way. “Oh I don’t know, maybe a redeeming personality.” He said with a smirk. “That I can-wait, what?” Everyone laughed except for the monkey. “I’m kidding Sun, but you’ll have to pay for yours and trust me, it’s not cheap.” Itzal patted his back and chuckled. “Yeah yeah…am I that bad?” He asked and looked at Neptune. “Well…” Before the blonde faunus could sulk further, Itzal kissed him on the cheek. “I didn’t mean it, honest. You’re great, Sun. But don’t think that means you’ll take me away from Flare.”

Tail 101
In yet another sparing class, team FIRE along with a plethora of students sat and watched the latest match. Currently our small cat faunus was fighting Weiss Schnee. Luckily for the year one student, Itzal had taken out his rage from being woken up early on Ethan.
“Next time you do it, asshole.” Ethan muttered to Flare while rubbing his side. “Your little boyfriend probably broke a rib or two.” Flare just chuckled and continued watching the fight. “I don’t know, watching him deck you was pretty satisfying to watch. Rhys smiled a little hugged Ethan, though lightly. "You’ll be fine, and I’m sure he’ll apologise later. Too bad you can’t lean back like the cool guy that you are.” The greenette giggled. Ever since Itzal had beaten Pyrrha, he had gained more popularity. Luckily for the recluse, Ethan and Rhys easily dealt with people that tried to get too close to him. Though the rest of the team made sure that Itzal met good people and made friends other than Jaune.
It was the middle of the fight, both students doing their best to win. Every shot Itzal fired Weiss would dodge, but equally the faunus dodged every swipe of her sword. But just as Itzal flipped away from a swipe, something awful was about to happen. He landed facing away from Weiss for a moment. In that moment she dashed forward and grabbed Itzal’s tail to keep him in place. Ethan, Rhys, and Flare stood up quickly at this. But unfortunately, Itzal was faster.
Almost as quick as Rhys using his semblance, Itzal turned around, dropped his gun, and slapped Weiss causing a loud smack to ring out through the room. Many gasps came from the audience, but a few students stood up as well. Mainly Blake, Sun, Ruby, and Yang along with the other standing three males. “Who do you think you are?!” The faunus said angrily and pulled his tail away. Weiss was more shocked than angry, since she didn’t know why the normally quiet male had hit her like that.
“How can you think that was ok?? Ugh you are just like your father!” He yelled and turned around, leaving the sparring room. “Adam was right.” He said, clenching his fists as he exited. The rest of the room, including Glynda, was left in shock.
“Did…did that just happen…?” Rhys asked softly as the whole room filled with chatter of what just happened. “Yes it did…unfortunately he had every right to do that.” Flare said and sighed. “Every right?? You’ve got two seconds to explain why your little friend just slapped my teammate!” Yang said from behind Flare. The taller male turned and looked at her. “You don’t want to make him angrier, he’s worse than you when you’re angry. She grabbed his tail. It’s…it’s complicated all right?” Ethan pat Flare on the back. “It’s ok big guy. How about we explain over some coffee? As much as I’d like to stir up trouble in this chaos, I don’t want to risk Itzal getting even more upset.
"I didn’t mean to interrupt your plans I just…god it makes me so angry…” Itzal mumbled. He had climbed up into the top of the dorm building and was talking to a familiar man. “Don’t worry. I can’t say I know where you’re coming from, but it’s close. I still think you should get the spikes.” Itzal gave a chuckle. “Maybe…I can’t believe I’m actually considering it after all these years.”
“Damn you climb fast…” Sun was panting as he reached the top of the building. “Whoa hey Itzal, come here.” He quickly took a fighting stance, looking at the male next to Itzal. “Get away from him right now.” Itzal looked over and sighed. “It’s fine, he won’t hurt me. I just wanted to talk.” Adam just shook his head. “You’re lucky I have more important things to deal with, monkey boy.” And just like that, the White Fang leader left. “You know him??” Sun asked and walked over to the cat. “Yeah…it’s a long story. Why did you follow me, though? I thought everyone would go to Weiss.” “Well we know why you did it, so we wanted to make sure you’re ok.” Blake said as she walked through the door that would normally give access to the roof.
Meanwhile in the cafeteria, the rest of team FIRE and RWBY were sitting down at one of the tables, along with Neptune and JNPR. “So…” Rhys mumbled and tapped his coffee mug lightly. “Care to explain why your cat slapped me?” Weiss asked angrily. “Yeah you can’t just hit my teammate like that!” Ruby said, slamming her fist on the table. “If you’d let us explain?” Ethan said and sipped his black coffee. When everyone was silent, he set the mug down. “Good. The reason he slapped you is because you crossed a line.”
“Since you did you either don’t know a lot about faunus, or you’re actually an asshole. I’d like to think it’s the former.” Flare said. “But you should know that all faunus have a part of their body that shows they’re not human, be it ears, a tails, or otherwise. Those body parts are very sensitive if they’re not under extreme stress or if they’ve trained themselves.” A few of the other people widened their eyes as he spoke. “Grabbing a faunus’ tail is a sign of control, or for others, slavery.” At this Weiss narrowed her eyes. “What exactly are you saying?”
“We’re saying your father is an awful person.” Ethan said. “Your father is the reason Itzal is an orphan. He took shock collars and made them to fit around tails. And seeing as their tails are so sensitive, it could give a good enough shock to kill them.” Now the silence was uncomfortable. “But grabbing them can basically paralyse them. Luckily Itzal learned how to overcome this a long time ago. Hence the slap.” Rhys said and finished his coffee.
“What’s his last name?” Pyrrha asked, holding her mug. “Silverman.” Rhys replied and played with his own mug. “Wait Silverman? Are you sure?” Weiss now asked. “They’re supposed to be dead.” Jaune sighed and put his head down. “OK, what are you talking about now? As if it wasn’t hard enough to follow…”
“It’s said that the Silverman family was as rich as the Schnee family.” Pyrrha said. “But the Silverman manner was destroyed in an earthquake. It’s far out from any of the kingdoms. Only faunus were allowed to work for them and the whole family were faunus.” Weiss said and sighed softly. “At least that’s what I was told.” “Well it’s a lie.” Itzal said from the doorway, accompanied by Sun and Blake. “Your father is the reason my brother died in my arms.” He said sourly and stood behind Flare.
“I’m sorry…I didn’t know. You should have said something if it’s as important as that though.” The ice Queen said to the cat who sighed. “Whatever…you’re not your father since you haven’t tried to kill me. Just…watch it next time all right?” He said and folded his arms. “You need a time out.” Flare mumbled as he got up, picking Itzal up. “W-what?? I’m your boyfriend not your kid!” At this everyone laughed at the struggling faunus. “I’ll keep you company but I think you need to get back into your comfort zone.” Flare said and smiled.
After idly chatting with the other people, Rhys and Ethan eventually returned to their dorm to find Flare and Itzal cuddling under a blanket. Both were fast asleep. “HEY RHYS!!” Rhys yelled and bolted out of the room. Ethan looked at him then froze when he looked at the now awake pair. “Ethan…” Itzal growled, about to make Ethan regret living.
