I just saw bsb posted about Liam... they were my childhood (I'm that old), and I never thought I'd see a 1D member die before any of them... I've seen the band take a break and come back, Kevin leaving and returning the group, and I watched them live after ~15 years of being a fan...it's so hard to believe 1D will never be the same and I'll never get to see them :(
#I almost saw Liam last year by chance... he was going to perform at a festival I went to but he canceled for health issues#I wasn't a big fan of his solo work so I was like: “maybe the band will reunite for a tour years from now / that would be much better”#now he's not here anymore...#God since last night I've been thinking about the Liam fans I met at the festival... they bought tickets just to see him#After he canceled they went anyway and still wore a lot of merch and stuff... I hope they're okay

some of 1D's best songs exist because of liam payne, by the way. liam and louis were the dream team. they all wrote some good songs, but man. every time liam and louis joined up together, it ended up being a fucking banger. better than words. end of the day. fireproof. there are so many, so many strong songs that took 1D from being just a silly little "girl band" (which is what they always were and always will be to us, to me) to being something special, something that pierced through the industry whether people liked it or not. that was my band. they were my boys. i will miss liam for the rest of my life, and i'm not exaggerating that. not only because of who he was in the band, not only because of who he could have been once he held himself accountable enough to grow. i will miss his music, his talent. his voice. god. his voice. i'll just miss him. i miss him already.

It's ok to mourn a celebrity it's ok to feel sad when a shitty person you used to love dies it's ok to feel complicated about celebrating a life that brought you joy and also hurt others it's ok to just want to be sad right now and deal with the other stuff later.
You're mourning the place in your life Liam held. You didn't know him, you don't have to make excuses for him, you just get to feel what you're feeling right now.
You're not a public figure and you don't have to construct a statement. You don't have to wash all your emotions until they are perfect and clean. You get to feel this.
❤️❤️

Honestly thought I’d be like 78 years old before I’d get the news that a member of one direction died

i do have to say that TMZ is a fucking plague and needs to be stomped out. the way they shared the news of michael jackson’s death before his family was notified, shared images of the kobe bryant helicopter crash before his wife had even found out it happened, and have now shared images of liam payne’s dead body for the world to see… just fucking slimy and utterly devoid of integrity

i have no idea how to process this. it’s not unfathomable and it’s something i’ve thought about many times but i don’t actually know how to process it. what do you mean he was such an integral part of me growing up and he did some fucked up things in part bc of the fucked up environment he grew up in and now he’s DEAD and can’t do anything to try and make amends. what do u mean the boys now means harry louis liam niall zayn. what do you mean he left behind a child less than 10 years old. what the fuck do you mean

i mean. taylor hugging brittany mahomes, amidst such public attention about mahomes actively campaigning for trump and people discussing wanting taylor to NOT interact with her... feels like exactly the same level of childish feet stomping we saw with matty healey. lol. god

Being a Taylor fan in 2024 means going back and forth between being like "aww my comfort singer whose discography practically raised me" and "Okay, Miss Out Of Touch Billionaire" 😭

I have to say in the wake of a literal fucking terrorist attack threat people’s FIRST move being to rag on (particularly arab/poc) fans who wanted her support for palestine is so sick and twisted. to use something so scary and heinous to “win” your online argument not even a half hour after knowing about it is another level of deranged, to call people’s feelings and pleas on a literal genocide “bitching” is evil, & i’m not even going to get into logistics bc it’s not the time. you can have your opinion on the topic but the VINDICATION im seeing so quickly is so unsettling

it might be premature to say this but i would urge anyone who’s considering going to any of the remaining eras shows just to hang out outside of the stadium to reconsider and stay home instead.
they can take measures to keep people safe inside the stadiums, and even those measures aren’t ironclad, but the thousands of fans who come to sit outside the stadiums are a whole different story.
