Folklore's garden ♡︎

Anon, I'm still hung up on Folklore (new favorite) to have given Evermore a proper listen. Plus, I was waiting for the physical album to arrive. Right now, first impressions after my first full listen...it has 6-7 songs that would have fit wonderfully on Folklore, which I felt was just more cohesive, atmospheric, and 100% my aesthetic. This new album is her slightly messier sister lol, still good but didn't capture my heart as quickly as Folklore.

Champagne Problems is my favorite track. Its stunning and I love a good sad song. I could play it on repeat and just wallow in despair. Other stand outs include Gold Rush, Tis the Damn Season, Tolerate It, Happiness, Coney Island, Ivy, Cowboy Like Me, and Marjorie...so the majority of the album is lovely.

I'm warming up to Willow. I thought Cardigan was her best first single ever so it had to overcome that but the video is gorgeous. I'm also meh about No Body, No Crime, Dorothea, and Evermore (it's beautiful but I could do without Bon Iver's part).

Long Story Short and Closure are my least favorites. Lyrically, I like em, loved all the edits I've seen, but sonically? Just no lmao. We'll see how they fare with time...I'll replace them in my playlist with the two bonus songs.
