Final Project: Abstract Series

I think with this combination of photos they are more cohesive. The use of space is better and the over all look is better than the photos I used before. I found the focal point is easily detectable and makes a bold statement. Since summer is around the corner.

The color scheme used in these photos is various shades of blue, both light and dark.

Session 14/Ad Analysis

1. This ad uses the Rule of Thirds.

2. The main focal point is the baby in the sun, the secondary focal point is the playpen. While the playpen and the sun are relatively the same size the sun is just a little larger, with all of the rays streaming off of it.

3. Distortion-the suns rays are distorted with them being so long and curling around more like hair than rays.

4. This ad is balanced and symmetrical, with the logo being in the upper left corner and its color being in the same color family as the sun. Also the logo, the playpen, and the sun are generally the same size.

5. There is a distinct horizontal line that is between the sky and the mountains in background.

6. The color scheme used in this ad is nature oriented.

7. The line used in this ad is curvy linear.

8. This ad is idealistic, possibly even could be considered surreal.

The focal point was achieved in this ad by the use of color. Since the background is white and the models in the ad are wearing black, and white. The color of the handbags pop. This ad is balanced since the lettering is black and the models are also wearing black. The color scheme used is quadratic. The ad is realistic, this is because it uses live models. This ad uses a horizontal line, the handbags all line up horizontally and there is a blank horizontal space between the top of the models and the lettering.

Session 9: Shape

This ad used shape through the form of rectilinear. With the shapes of the speakers. It also uses curvilinear with the undersides of the top pediments. This ad uses the Gestalt principal of closure. In the center of the woman where the headphones are at there is an open space. Her arms are not connected to her torso. It also used focal point with the logo hifi in black and red in the left pediment.

Session 9: Distortion

This ad uses distortion by the way the label is made to be wavy. Which draws the eye in and gives the ad more interest. This ad also uses line, there is a clear horizontal distinction between the top and bottom label.

Session 9: Idealism

This ad uses Idealism through the by luring the viewers into wanting to buy this fish attracting device. Which makes it an ideal device to add to their tackle box. This ad uses both balance and focal point. The ad is balanced with the large fish on one side and the Mp3 player and decorative etching on the other. With the logo placed within the etching it makes it stand out more. Also the use of black, white, and grey make this ad balanced.
