So like the day after brian thompson bit it, I got a letter in the mail from Lab Corp for a one thousand dollar blood draw that should have gone to Medicaid. Cue panic, because that's more than I get in one month of SSI. So I brace myself for a long slog of a call and call the number for the billing department, trying not to freak out and rehearsing what to say to get this charge dropped...

And the overly-perky person on the phone was immediately like "Oh no! That shouldn't have happened! I'll clear the charge right away, you can just disregard that letter! We'll send a new letter that says you don't have to pay!" The conversation was about 2 minutes.
