I was telling my dad about how there are always hermits in Arthurian stories, just, you're out on a quest and you need directions or to recover from a wound so you look for the nearest hermit because there's usually one around. My Dad said "Like gas stations" and I have not been the same since
I don’t frequent the TikTok therian community much, but I really do enjoy the idea of a “therian summer camp” that I see posted about on there. There’s something so fun and sweet about it.
Cabins for housing all the kinds of animals that come, you could stay with your own species or be with all different kinds of animals you would’ve never met otherwise
Birds nesting in the top bunks, foxes and rabbits creating their dens in the bottom bunks
Activities that teach how to cook and add new species-appropriate dishes to your diet
Lots of hiking and time in nature, reflective meditation time out in the trees or water for those who want a peaceful activity
Being able to behave naturally without feeling bad or weird, because everyone there is an animal! Everyone would see it as normal when/if you were to respond with barks or squeaks or yips or meows or whatever your instinct is
Drawing and trading little portraits of your fellow camp mates, going to arts and crafts activities and making friendship bracelets and tie dye T-shirts or gear like masks and ears
Music and dance done by community members, poems read and art shared with each other
The last night could be held on a full moon, with everyone coming together for performances and food and play under the moonlight 🩶
Does anyone know if there are any covert plural symbols? Like the "black ring on your right middle finger" thing with asexuality. I know there are already things like the ampersand and Emmengard's rings. But like. Those are the sort of things that are clearly symbolizing something, so even if singlets don't recognize them there's a good chance they might ask what they mean.
If not, I think maybe something opalescent/pearlescent/multichrome would be neat. Like. Many colors in one object and all. It'd probably have to be a bit more specific than that in order for it to actually work. Maybe the (left, apparently right is used for the wedding ring in some cultures) index finger? Or else, like, a ring worn on a bracelet, since that's not a common way to wear a ring, it could stand out while still being hidden.
Idk, I'm not really an expert on symbolism and all that. If anyone knows any pre-existing things like this or else has any ideas, feel free to add on!
sorry if youve already asked this but whats the flag in your icon? is it a specific flavor of plurality flag, or is it something personal? just curious! ive been trying to find a good osdd flag to paint for a patch for my jacket but googles a bitch as usual and tumblr search never. works. lmao
No worries! We have been asked about it before, but we don't mind saying it again.
[ID: a seven-striped flag with three small stripes in-between four large stripes. The stripe colors, in order, are: deep reddish pink, orange, yellow, lime green, green, cyan, and blue. / end ID]
The flag in our icon is this one representing plurality in general by @systemaltoclef, who made it based on Emmengard's Plural Rings! We liked the colors and connection to another plural symbol, so we decided to use it in our icon.
We have heard of an OSDD-1 flag around the community somewhere, but unfortunately I don't have it on-hand. What we do have, however, are two flags meant for systems with a dissociative disorder such as OSDD-1!
[ID: a four-striped flag. The stripe colors, in order, are: white, lilac, teal, and dark gray. / end ID]
This flag is by @dissocean, and the link is here. It was originally specifically meant for OSDD-1 systems, I believe, but has since been expanded to include other dissociative disorders.
[ID: a six-striped flag. The stripe colors, in order, are: indigo, deep blue, air force blue, spring green, lime green, and pale yellow. / end ID]
This is the plural peafowl flag by @m0dem0n, with the link to the post here. Something to note is that although the post itself only mentions three dissociative disorders, the poster clarifies in other posts that other dissociative disorders, such as P-DID, are also included for the purposes of the flag.
