I haven't worked on any art in two months, because I started a new job and have been swamped getting settled into the position (and my metro commute!) But one of my responsibilities is serving as advisor to the @umd.capp Contemporary Art Purchasing Program Committee, which is comprised of six undergraduates who research, conduct studio and gallery visits, and ultimately purchase work for the student union's permanent collection. The group went to #superfinedc today, and we had so many wonderful conversations with artists and gallerists. I cannot wait to see what this group proposes for purchase at the end of the spring! I have gotten in the habit of taking short videos any time I am near a body of water, on the off-chance I can use it for a piece. It also ends up being my most thorough documentation of my life, an alternative to food pictures I guess. I am so excited to be in residence at the SMCM Artist House- looking forward to building some stuff and also revisiting my memory/landscape for another iteration (at St Marys College Of Maryland)
