EVENT TWO.
you all meet and then go to the home of joseph joyner, as previously planned. upon showing up, he’s obviously taken back by the large group of people two has brought, not knowing other’s were coming: but once finding out that two is the one he had spoken to, he lets you all into his home none the less.
two takes the role of the leader, asking the most questions as joseph seems to be nervous with the situation -- in between answers he gives to her, he tries hard to make everyone comfortable in his own house as though it would hide his discomfort with such a large group. when asked about tami, he seems to tense up more: it’s clear to any and everyone that he knows something he shouldn’t from the moment her name is said.
two asks why he canceled future appointments, and he is clearly lying when he tells you all that he simply found someone who was whiling to work with him for less. when he is asked about tami’s illness, his face seems to drop as if he didn’t know that she was sick. he asks the same questions you all most likely had -- what’s wrong with her? what are her symptoms? is she doing okay? does it look like she’s getting better?
when his questions are shut up, his eyes seem to fall on prior and his lovers as he takes a deep breath. his next words are obviously a confession: “i was told to give her this thing. i don’t know much about it, but my guy said to trust him and things would be easier on me. i don’t know if it has anything to do with her getting sick, but i can give it to you guys.”
he gives you guys a bottle, and prior a nervous smile as he does. it’s unlabeled and filled with a red and partially see-through liquid. if he really gave this to tami, he couldn’t have given her much. two is the one to find out where he got this thing: some guy gave it to him, and said if he needed any more of it to call ###-###-####.
joseph doesn’t know anymore than that, but at least you got a few answers.

EVENT ONE.
“thank you all so much for coming,” mendel says every five minutes, but it’s no less sincere each time. his hand is joined with tami’s over the tabletop -- it’s a tender example of their affection, letting everyone present know just where they stand.
the most notable things about mendel are his nervous smile and his hopeful eyes. everyone in the room falls victim to at least one of these things as he explains what he knows to be true. “this is tami, and she’s -- i know as much as you do. she’s not well, and i don’t quite know why, or how, or what it is. i was hoping that we would be able to, possibly, find an explanation ourselves.”
tami agrees with everything he says every time he speaks. it’s clear that the symptoms you’ve heard about are mostly true: she seems to be out of breath without a reason to be, as though she’s trying to catch her breath without noticing. you can’t tell that her heart is racing, but it’s safe to assume it is. there is one thing, though, that is noticeable: the symptom of inability to concentrates seems that it couldn’t be farther from the truth, given the way her attention seems to never leave mendel as he talks.
when mendel finishes talking, two asks if she has any other symptoms. after question is asked again by mendel, tami having not been paying attention, tami answers, “oh, i have a hard time paying attention most of the time. i think my heart is always racing and i think my breathing is off,” all things you already have heard about, “um... sometimes i have absolutely no appetite, but that doesn’t seem to be too big of a problem when mendel’s such a good cook,” she seems to end up distracted before listing any other symptoms she’s been experiencing.
otherwise, the time at mendel’s home doesn’t seem very note worthy. numbers are exchanged, and if you had worried about tami’s condition being possibly contagious, those worries are likely killed off by the way the way that tami seems to be near mendel the entire time.
after leaving, it almost feels as though they’ve learned nothing but each other’s names, but at least they’ve learned that much.
