SALIERI - AMADEUS (1984)

reasoning: disclaimer antonio salieri was a real classical era composer but his music fell out of the repertoire until his fame was revived by the fictionalized faggot version of him in this movie and the play its based on. for some context he’s a devout catholic (when he was a kid he prayed to become a great composer and his faith was affirmed by his unsupportive father choking to death in front of him) and believes musical talent is something God awards to the virtuous so it really throws him for a loop when he meets mozart who is also a faggot but more openly (fwiw his portrayal is closer to historically accurate than salieri’s). so he has this faith crisis but instead of questioning the existence of a higher power he jumps straight to God Thinks He’s Funny Well I’m About To Be Hilarious which i enjoy about him. there’s a scene where he’s reading mozart’s manuscripts/audiating the music and he gets so overwhelmed by how perfect it is that he has to throw his head back and drop everything on the floor
