Mask Upgrade

In 2019 I made a mask for a Halloween D&D one shot. It was a rough job with cheap paint from Spirit Halloween. I've used it as my mascot ever since, but felt I could do a better job.

Thankfully the local Michael's art store had a higher quality UV paint. Much darker than the cheap stuff when in normal light, much brighter in UV. Hoping I can make a radiating glow effect for the lava veins, but first I will put a clear gloss coat on the whole thing.

I'm in love with the more defined veins, as opposed to trying to stick to the natural cracks that are already in the original mask.

After much procrastinating and anxiety over not feeling like I had the right equipment, the right audio quality, the right voice, I decided to rip the band-aide off and create something fun. I work best when I'm worried about letting someone down so getting permission from an artist to use their work for a Christmas special meant I had that as well as a deadline. I'm happy, feel accomplished, and motivated to improve by making more things.
