Their cupcakes are to die for."

She wasn't sure how long it had been since she had last smiled as genuinely as she was now in his presence, their digits intertwined as they enjoyed some alone time together for the first time in what felt like ages and she was completely content. The wind wisped golden locks behind her as they moved across the beach, sand beneath their feet as cerulean hues watched the waves dance against the shore, all of the colors of the sunsetting in the distant horizon never looked more perfect as she rambled on about god knows what before she even realized that he had been staring, his hand giving hers a gentle squeeze before a light pink tint rose against her cheeks and a soft 'what' escaped her lips as she gazed upwards at him. His answer only deepened the pink tint against her delicate features, smile broadening as she pulled her gaze away for a moment. "I have too," Skyla admits softly. "I haven't been back here since you disappeared but- I'm really happy we get to do this again."

Her name being listed as a leader for the fairies on this new council had sent her heart immediately plummeting within her chest, nausea coursing through her as she had immediately went searching for Jesse, wanting nothing more than to have gotten out of there that night and now as she tried and failed to get things ready for the bakery to open, frustration seemed to build. She didn't want to be in charge of anything but her businesses, didn't know the first thing about leading a whole group of people and even though she had done more than enough leading for her twin sister- beaing the voice for an entire species was far more than she ever had thought she'd have to carry on her shoulders, the stress that had built overnight had her more than distracted as yet another batch of muffins were pulled out burnt before the bells above the door rang and gained her attention, cursing under her breath as she had thought she'd locked the door behind her this morning. "Sorry we're not open just yet," Skyla called over her shoulder. "Might be opening a little later than usual. I don't have anything ready except for the coffee."

If there was absolutely anything to look forward to tonight, it was the return of her newfound best friend. The friendship had been unexpected, Skyla having been trying to mend the relationship between Marni and Jesse and while the two were at least amicable now there had been no fully mending it but Skyla wasn't one to give up, at least not yet. She fully believed that there was still a chance, one day, maybe in the future where they'd all be happy and get along. Seeing the blonde across the room at the bar, Skyla quickly made her way over, weaving through the crowd with ease before finding herself beside the hybrid. "You're back," Skyla greeted, smile pulling across her lips. "How- how are you doing? I mean with everything that happened? You look amazing."

This was not her ideal plans for the night, having preferred to just stay home with her fiance and her sister and their friends and yet somehow, someway, Starla had convinced them to get dressed up and go. Her digits were intertwined with Jesse's, other hand lightly gripping against his arm as they entered the compound side by side and for a moment she swore she could feel her heart stop within her chest and a breath catch in the back of her throat. "Hour tops, right," Skyla questions, her gaze tearing from in front of them to glance up at the male. "Hour tops and we get Star and we go home. The last place that I want to be is stuck in a crowded Mikaelson home alongside the OEA."

The one downfall of the fairies entire personality was her inability to hold a grudge, to carry anger or hate within her. For Marni that was an unbelievably good thing because while Jesse could carry all of that, Skyla could undoubtedly be the middle ground and while she wasn't particularly happy with what Marni had done to Jesse, a part of her could almost understand the reason she had done it. A faint smile tugs at her lips as the other blonde came into view, waving slightly at the other as she made her way over, waiting until the other was settled at their table before making any sort of conversation. "Thanks for meeting me here," Skyla offers softly. "I know Jesse's been mad at you, understandably, but I also know that as his best friend, you wouldn't have done it if you didn't think it was to protect him. I have a twin sister so trust me I definitely get it, I'd do anything to protect her even if it meant she ended up hating me for it."

She shouldn't have been looking for the male and yet, for some reason, she had found herself outside of Matthias's home, standing at the door waiting for an answer that didn't come. The sound of a vehicle pulling up into the drive pulled her attention, glancing over her shoulder to find who she assumed was his roommate and a faint smile tugged to her lips as she gave a slight wave. "Hi, sorry, I was just looking for Matty but I guess he's not home," Skyla admits, glancing over her shoulder at the front door before cerulean irises returned to the ridiculously tall male. "Could you just, uh, let him know that Skyla was looking for him?"

“Hey, I still stand by that having been a great idea,” Skyla states, hands rising in playful defense between them before allowing a soft laugh to leave her lips. “That it would be, for sure. What do you think of all that anyways? It’s gotta be nice for you, having your parents back and all that?”

"I don't know about always - remember that time you talked me into trying to make wine out of grape juice? That wasn't a good idea, at all." She nodded, sympathetically. "It'd have to be the first wedding ever to have people from the past and future at it, wouldn't it?"

Jesse had been acting so odd since they had gotten there, a lot more- chipper than usual. They had been waiting in line at the love tunnel when Jesse had slipped away to grab them drinks and she was getting antsy the closer she got to being next and he still hadn't returned before cerulean irises landed on a familiar face and she quickly turned away, golden locks falling over her shoulder in attempts to hide her features from view and she quickly moved herself forward and into the empty boat before a frame was seated beside her and she cursed silently beneath her breath. "Sorry uh seats taken," Skyla mused, gaze refusing to find the male beside her.

Digits picked tirelessly at the grass beneath her, legs crossed beneath her as her gaze stared at what had been their childhood home in the now abandoned fairy grove. She had done so well at ignoring the ache in her chest for years but lately she couldn't help but find herself missing their parents more and more each day, longing for answer as to where their older brothers were, if they were okay. The sound of approaching footsteps caused the fairies hands to rise quickly, wiping at the tears that had made their way down their features as her gaze rose to find her twin sister. "Hey," Skyla greeted, forcing a smile to her lips though it faded just as quickly as it had arrived. "What're you doing out here?"
