I can’t believe how fucking awesome my life is. LIKE WHAT? DUDE! I love the old brown doors I always end up around. I love the cold air on my dry nose. I love the way my friend sees me. I love the way I felt speaking in front of an audience the other day. I felt like I belonged there. It’s silly, I read one line, and it was a funeral. But standing up in a church in front of people seeking guidance, I felt sure I could give it. My grandma is convinced I need to become a minister. She’s so proud of what I’ve come to know. “You need to study Theology, so you can teach them the real Christianity. You have such a good basis!” I love her so much, to Pluto and back. Linda Lou. I hated church for so long, but now we talk about that book all the time. I even got her talking about astrology and Greek mythology in a more open discussion! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???? She used to shut me down religiously every time! “That’s witchcraft!” But now I can outsmart her, and she listens this time! But I also listen to her, never too smart for her old lady wisdom. She’s always got something to share with me. People always call her a know it all and just roll their eyes. Not me. I’ve always been her little buddy, and I’ve always listened to everything she had to teach. She taught me to garden, to bake cookies, to pray, to look for fairies. She taught me everything I know. “Remember when I used to send you out to look for fairies, you’d look for hours and never find anything, but you never gave up! It was just the funniest thing.” She thinks it’s funny, but I think it’s a testament to my faith. People’s egos tend to get hurt when Linda comes around, because when she’s around, you’re doing it wrong. I can understand why people get frustrated with her, but seriously, she’s always got the best way of doing things. “Oh for the love of god kid!” She always says that before she’s about to teach you something new. God I love her. The day she dies I dont know what I’ll do. Well I’ll get the green jade earrings and necklace she has, she said they’re mind when she dies, because she knows I love crystals. But seriously. I think she’ll live on through me. Every weekend I stayed with her, and she took me to church. I stole smarties from her purse. And gave her a wet Willy when I was supposed to be paying attention. I always sat in big church with her, I hated children’s church. I would tell her, “I’m going to the bathroom,” and I’d go to the nursery, just so I could play with my little cousins. I just adored them growing up. Breya and me would play, and juju would play by himself. He never talked. Until one day, he started talking to me, and he never stopped after that. Now when I’m around, he’s gonna talk my ear off. Last time I saw him he was rambling about the acrophyseter, brygmophyseter, and zygophyseter and their bite sizes. And he drew me pictures of them. He’s a little fucking genius and he watches documentaries for fun. And ever since he could start speaking he’s always said, “I’m gonna be a paleontologist.” He knows EVERYTHING about dinosaurs. Be careful though, he gets a little mouthy if what you’re saying isn’t backed by science. I was bout ready to pop his little ass last time.

History of the Blue Whale King, Part V: 13,650,000 - 5,000,000 BC
And thus the genus Balaenoptera was born. Though its members started small, the expanding throat pouch allowed for larger body sizes, and the whales of Balaenoptera surpassed 30 feet. Within a few million years, some reached 40.
Unfortunately, this was the new limit. Despite the Antarctic Circumpolar Current having existed since ~34,000,000 BC, there was just not enough food for filter feeders to reach the giant sizes they dreamed of.
Meanwhile, all the whales lived in fear of predators. Most were raptorial Sperm Whales, such as Acrophyseter and Zygophyseter. But worst of all were the giant macroraptorial Sperm Whale Livyatan Melvillei, and the giant shark Carcharocles Megalodon. Both reached lengths of 50 feet, with some reaching 60 or even 70, far larger than any baleen whale.
Unfortunately, some of the Balaenoptera whales lost faith in the King and Queen. In around 10,00,000 BC, a group split off the main lineage, and another splitoff occured in 7,500,000 BC. The first splitters became the ancestors of today's Humpback, Gray, Minke, and Fin Whales, while the other group led to the ancestors of Sei, Bryde's, and Omura's Whales.
But no matter. There were already seperate lineages of Cetaceans beyond the King and Queen's authority. They did not force anyone to follow them. Though it was unfortunate that lineages which murdered their fellow Cetaceans achieved the largest size.
But in 5,331,000 BC, the Miocene rolled over to the Pliocene, and with the new epoch, the Balaenoptera King found an opportunity. Wind-driven upwellings brought cold water and nutrients from the deep to the surface, causing massive plankton blooms. A far greater food supply meant the possibility of far greater body sizes. The King's dream, now over 60 million years old, was finally within sight.
Thus it was that he called a conference at the beginning of the Pliocene. He told his people, "This new supply of plankton is far beyond anything we've seen. We have the biology to exploit it. All we need to do now is gorge ourselves and pass on our biggest genes, and we will reach a far greater size than not only our current selves, but Megalodon and Livyatan. And we will gain more size in the next two million years than in the past 45 million combined."
Those still under his command rejoiced. Parliment voted unanimously, with support from the people, to deliver an ultimatum to the predators:
"Stop hunting us, or be destroyed."
Livyatan, the other raptorial Sperm Whales, and Megalodon laughed. In fact, the Megalodon King and Livyatan Emperor decided to have a contest to see who could eat the most whales. This contest sooned turned bloody, and thus began the Megalodon VS Livyatan War.
While the giant sharks and Sperm Whales fought each other, the Balaenoptera King's species (the one they were at this time has not yet been named by humans) grew larger at an unprecedented rate. Within 331,000 years, they grew from an average length of 30-35 feet to 50-60 feet. The other baleen species grew as well, though not by as much.
By 5,000,000 BC, it was too much for Lyviatan Melvillei to handle. They did not have enough success hunting larger prey, and combined with casualties from their war with Megalodon, the species went extinct. That was the end of the raptorial Sperm Whales, the others had already gone extinct a few million years prior.
The largest Baleen Whale species, the one under the command of the King and Queen, was Balaenoptera Sibbaldina. That time period marked the transition from tens millions of years of being small, to becoming the largest animals to ever live on Earth.

Biggest Megalodon Enemies : The Megalodon, the massive and formidable shark that dominated the oceans 23 million years ago, was the king of its time. With its enormous size, reaching up to 60 feet in length and a bite stronger than a T-Rex, it seemed invincible. However, even this mighty predator had its share of enemies. In this article, we will explore six of the Megalodon's most ferocious adversaries that could give it a run for its money. 1. Cetotherium - The Baleen Whale's Defense Cetotherium - The Baleen Whale's Defense Next Cetotherium, a baleen whale from the Cetotheridae family, lived during the mid-Myocene to early Pleiocene period. Although much smaller than the Megalodon, reaching lengths of only 15 feet, Cetotherium possessed unique defensive adaptations. With its baleen, a flexible keratin material used as a strainer, Cetotherium could catch small organisms while feeding near the surface, evading the attention of the mighty Megalodon. However, when spotted by the massive shark, Cetotherium had little chance of escape. Next 2. Zygophyseter Verulianus - The Killer Sperm Whale Zygophyseter Verulianus - The Killer Sperm Whale Prev Next Zygophyseter Verulianus, also known as the killer sperm whale, prowled the oceans during the late-Myocene period. Growing up to 20 feet long, this predator possessed an asymmetrical cranium and relied on echolocation to locate and hunt its prey. With teeth measuring six to ten inches in length, Zygophyseter targeted large fish, dolphins, small whales, and cephalopods. Its lethal bite posed a formidable challenge for the Megalodon. Prev Next 3. Aulophyseter - The Challenger Aulophyseter - The Challenger Prev Next Aulophyseter, a predatory whale similar to the modern-day sperm whale, lived during the Myocene period. While it couldn't match the Megalodon's size, Aulophyseter employed strength in numbers, often swimming in groups to repel attacks from giant predators like the Megalodon. With lengths of 20 feet and weighing about 2400 pounds, Aulophyseter relied on teamwork for protection and survival. Prev Next 4. Brygmophyseter Shigensis - The Coastal Predator Brygmophyseter Shigensis - The Coastal Predator Prev Next Brygmophyseter Shigensis, a highly predatory sperm whale, inhabited the coastal waters near Japan during the Myocene period. With a length of 23 feet, Brygmophyseter sported teeth in both its upper and lower jaws. Armed with powerful jaws and the ability to use echolocation, this predator reigned at the top of the food chain, feeding on fish, squid, and other small whales. Its existence overlapped with that of the Megalodon, leading to potential clashes over resources. Prev Next 5. Ramphosuchus - The Ancient Crocodile Ramphosuchus - The Ancient Crocodile Prev Next Ramphosuchus, one of the largest known crocodiles in history, roamed the Earth during the Myocene period. Estimated to be 26 to 36 feet long, this massive crocodile had a slender snout compared to other crocodiles, making it an excellent swimmer. It often entered rivers and oceans in search of food, occasionally encountering the Megalodon. With its long and strong bite, Ramphosuchus posed a significant challenge to the giant shark, as both fought for the same prey. Prev Next 6. Livyatan - The Leviathan Battle Livyatan - The Leviathan Battle Prev Livyatan, also known as Leviathan, was a massive whale measuring 60 feet long and weighing up to 50 tons. Coexisting with the Megalodon during the Myocene period, Livyatan primarily targeted baleen whales like Cetotherium for food. With teeth up to 14 inches long and a similar size and weight to the Megalodon, it is uncertain whether these two giants actively engaged in combat. However, their competition for resources likely influenced the course of their existence. Also Read : 10 Biggest Sea Dinosaurs That Ever Existed On Earth
Conclusion While the Megalodon reigned as the apex predator of its time, it faced formidable adversaries that challenged its dominance in the ancient oceans. The Cetotherium, Zygophyseter Verulianus, Aulophyseter, Brygmophyseter Shigensis, Ramphosuchus, and Livyatan each possessed unique characteristics and strategies to survive and thrive. Whether they engaged in direct battles with the Megalodon remains a mystery, but their presence likely played a role in the eventual extinction of this massive shark. The ancient oceans were a battleground for survival, where only the strongest could claim their place at the top of the food chain. Source Image : discord.com Prev
