He was "not" going to read that letter. ( In witch Zuko is raped by Zhao and Iroh, had hoped that Ozai would be a father and respond. Protect his son because Zuko had been far too damaged. And Ozai doesn't read the letter but now after two years, he found it on his desk. He doesn't know what's going on and that letter might just change everything. ) Side note : Zuko already joined the gaang and talked with Iroh. Iroh is in White Lotus and preparing. Sozin combat is two years away by the way, so Aang and the others still have time to prepare.although it might not even need preparation, if only Ozai would stop being a bitch and read that shit.
