Rampage, directed by Brad Peyton. I wasn't expecting much from this movie to begin with. However, I try to go into movies with an open mind. I love being surprised. There was some fun humour and I could actually feel a real connection between The Rock and our hyper realistic King Kong, George. 🐵 The movie is flooded with too many literal "oh shit" moments and so many cliché one liners. 🙄 Once again The Rock saves the day, and the world, from complete ruin as not only his physique, but also his character's military experience enables him to: survive being knocked around, operate various military vehicles and weaponry, kick in security doors, break out of plastic handcuffs at just the right moment, escape from a crashing plane while securing parachutes on two other escapees, completely ignore the close range gunshot to his abdomen, crash land a helicopter. 🤯🤔 All of the human stuff is mostly boring. My favorite parts of the movie are the animals, the animal/human relationships, and the monster fight scenes. I also found the battle scenes in the climax to be pretty amusing, and nostalgic, when they imitate the video game it's based on. 🎮 One thing I dislike about Rampage is on the very various things they want to tell in a story. It starts off so relax but gets messier as time flies by and at the end, it swifts lazily and gives up mid-way patching plot holes here and there. 👎 Like other recent Warner Bros. genre offerings Kong: Skull Island and Pacific Rim: Uprising, Rampage is a stereotypical disaster movie that fails to leave much of a memorable impact. 🎬 Movie: Aladdin, directed by Guy Ritchie. Watching this movie was like back in front of TV after school. This is a long film. It's a full 40 minutes longer than the animated classic. 📺 I'm not happy with the casting, especially with Kenzari as Jafar. Ben Kingsley would have taken Jafar's character to next level if he was in this film. Kenzari is a good actor who got to play a wrong character. Massoud n Naomi were great with their roles and emulates the animated version. Will Smith highlights the film with his bombastic and entertaining performance, still you can't beat Robin Williams performance coz Genie's role was tailor-made for him. Rest of the cast like Sultan n Royal guards were blank. 😊 CG wasn't great compared with previous Disney live-actions. Still the production values and glossy output are a treat to the eyes in Aladdin.👌 I love to see that Arabian Nights was made longer, I love that song. The other ones, one can argue if the animated version is better or not, but I can believe that at least both are at the same level. Costumes and scenery were quite colorful and pleasing enough to watch. You'll know what I mean when you see Prince Ali's grand entrance. 😃 This movie is targeted at kids, so I will see it as a kids movie. It was because of that fact that maybe the director decided that it should be less serious, and more entertaining for kids. Am I saying this movie was horrible? Its not the worst of the remakes by far. It was really good. But I don't see myself watching it again. If I did it would only be because of Will as the Genie. 😁 Overall, I think the positives outweigh the negatives by a bit and that the movie does not appear quite as magical as the original did but that is because the bar was set extremely high. Movie: Spider-Man: Far from Home, directed by Jon Watts.🎬 I enjoyed 'Homecoming'. It had its flaws and pacing issues, but delivered a smart take on the origin story that we've seen countless times before. Unfortunately for this sequel, it has far too many plot points to resolve acting as a sequel to 'Homecoming', 'Endgame', and closure to an entire phase of the MCU, to which it's overstuffed.😬 I came to this movie with high hopes and as a Spidey fan "Far from Home" really had every reason to be good, with great actors such as Tom Holland, Samuel Jackson, Jake Gyllenhaal.  And indeed, they did perform well. 👌 The chemistry between MJ, her character and Peter Parker made me really think they were 8 year-olds, made me cringe. The directors tried to make her look extremely intelligent and they really forced it, and you could feel it, she was more of a "know-it-all".🙄 I have to say the action sequences were simply amazing, the special effects incredibly satisfying. The fight scenes are cool but this does not hide the seemingly short time spent on the script.👍👎   I am getting tired of Marvel humor. I mean there were some funny scenes in Far from Home, but for the most part the humor attempts from Marvel was exhausting and forced.😕 Overall It's not a worthy follow up to Endgame . Don't get me wrong it is an entertaining film; it's funny, the characters are likeable etc, but a good hero film needs a good villain... The Nun, directed by Corin Hardy.🎬 I experienced in Dolby Atmos and the movie has excellent sound effects. This movie is good but not as good as the Conjuring 1 & 2. I love how it builds the character Valak that we first encountered in 'The Conjuring 2' then in 'Annabelle: Creation.'👻 The actors and actresses were all great and believable. I loved the storyline and the movie delivers with good amount of scares. Few comedy scenes which could have been avoided.🤔 The cinematography is phenomenal and the set is amazing. While the movie had its slow moments, it was most definitely a nail biter. It kept me on the edge of my seat.👌 Well, try to sleep alone after watching it. Mission:Impossible - Fallout, directed by Christopher Macquarie. 🎬 A good combination of spycraft, intrigue and stunts. I am a big MI fan, and both Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation exceeded my expectations. This film, while still enjoyable, was a bit of a disappointment in terms of draggy and deleted scenes. 🎥 Cruise still packs plenty of charisma and swagger playing Hunt, and the film's supporting cast is generally good as well. Henry Cavill, a new addition to this franchise, but I didn't like the way they used his character. I thought he had good chemistry with Cruise, and I was disappointed that they turned him into a villain. Henry is not a villain material. 🤔 Most of the action scenes were great, the motorcycle chase scene especially. There's one point I felt like I'm watching Nolan's movie scene. Great BGM and cool theme soong by Imagine Dragons. I saw the film in Dolby Cinema. The intense Dolby Atmos surround sound system quality certainly helped enhance the experience and made the action scenes all the more engaging. 😁 Tom Cruise definitely carries this film as he usually does and works the hardest for this installment in particular than I've ever seen him before. But I wished to see some interesting characters. Almost everything you'd want in a flagship phone at a very affordable price. Few things I like about One Plus 6 is, it can last well through a day's usage, thanks to quick-charging technology built into the phone, which means there's no need for wireless charging.🔋 It has a headphone jack, which means you don't need a wireless headset. But then again wireless headphones are a lot better than they used to be these days, so maybe they'll kill the jack in future models. Damn, this phone unlocks instantly with a touch sensor on the back, it also has face-unlock. I personally don't like the rectangle shape of the touch sensor, but it's still comfortable. The top notch specs on this phone, like Snapdragon 845 and Adreno 630 will make your base model laptop look like a redundant piece of trash. The screen is BIG, 19:9 display with a rather annoying notch. But you can do away with it in the system settings. The camera is fine, clicks good pics in day light. Using a 16MP +20MP dual camera with OIS. Selfies are such a major part of the way people interact with phones these days and OnePlus 6 had done a good job with their front cameras. The one I got to review was Mirror Black. I'd suggest you slap on a case to avoid finger prints on the glass back. OnePlus 6 is also available in Midnight Black (Everyone's favorite), Silk White and of course the 'Avengers Edition' (upto 8GB RAM and 256GB storage). This devices will give you faster OTA software updates (Oxygen OS based on Android) and it's on the list for the Android P developer preview in collaboration with Google. I love the alert slider, very useful feature. And now for a few small personal favorites: RGB LED notification light, haptic vibration motor, gestures support, noise canceling support, faster LTE (thanks to the glass back design), reading & night mode, lift up display, adaptive mode, color profile support. There are two things in India I believe we don't use on a daily basis i.e NFC payment and Wireless charging. Overall it's a great phone.
