let me say i’ve taken a break from writing full length novels and instead am writing short stories with no plot and trying to make myself snicker with every line and that is much more fun so this is your reminder to write what makes you smile/laugh/feel good in some way

Every once in a while I notice I reblog a lot of cat art and am tempted to make a sideblog just for reblogging cat art too, because cat art is always perfect

one of the most irritating things about being me is that my brain has decided that it must only concentrate on Learning German and so i cannot entertain the book ideas (auf englisch) that are playing in my head and i just ughhhhhh

however maybe this will stew on the back burner and get better plot

sometimes all you really need in life is a great friend to listen to you struggle to explain your ideas and give them more depth and its the best thing

cooking an idea is hard but also fun. it's like, add a little bit of sadness, a little bit of character motivation, a little bit of innocence, too much angst, and then if you mess up the balance you aren't super interested in writing it anymore and need to go back and edit it.

sometimes all you need to get motivation to write is get a little journal with a pocket in the back so you can write in the journal and store inspiration in the back pocket for when you get stuck

that mood when you ping your entire family group chat to help you ask someone to hang out because you don't know how to do it yourself

I think for 2023 i will slowly shift from fantasy to contemporary/literary. For fun. Also probably mostly in German because it's fun. Writing can and should be fun

I have come to the realization that people who go to other countries and don't learn the native language are not actually aware lots of people are shit talking them. I'm with a friend (who does not speak a lot of German) and her host dad dragged her to her face and she didn't know until we told her later. Like, do people not know?
