ikkaku-of-heart asked:
A heavy paw scratched at the castle door, Neptune letting out a huff of annoyance. In his mouth was a rope, the other end tied to a grumbling swordsman he’d lead through the gloom of Kuraigana Island. Having to fight off the Humandrills hadn’t been a walk in the park, either, and the dog was of the opinion that he most definitely deserved several treats as a reward for this long day of fetch.
It was very lucky that his girl loved the swordsman, and that he liked him too.
The door opened and Neptune plodded forward, dropping the end of the rope at the booted feet of the master of the castle. He gave a huff, staring up at the man, unamused and expectant. Of course Ikkaku would reward him later, but this was Mihawk’s protegee, and Neptune felt he deserved at least a pat on the head for going through all that trouble.

“Hmm?”
Between kitchen duties and becoming lost in the musty pages of a book, Mihawk had lost track. Of both time and his wayward guests. Likely he should have paid more attention but if Zoro came back days later or returned with injuries....it wouldn’t be the first time. Nor would it be the last. Zoro was not a child and Mihawk was not his caretaker. It was up to the idiot to keep himself alive.
Eyes narrowed the moment he noticed his door being scratched upon. Unusual. The idiot swordsman would have slammed his way in without a care. Perona would have been heard chatting away. He wasn’t expecting visitors and the troop of humandrills did not generally come upon his home for any reason. The scratching gave him pause but it did sound much like an animal. Without grabbing his sword he made his way towards the door, waited a moment before opening it. The sight before him caught him completely off guard.
There was the idiot himself. Tied up and apparently being led by a large canine who was now staring up at him quite expectantly. They both appeared rather scratched up. He could only guess at an interaction with the troop.
He’d never seen the dog. and he had not a clue as to where it came from or how even it had come here. Or what it had to do with Roronoa. Somehow though it had lead the man back here. And clearly wished to be rewarded for the trouble.
“I see. So you’ve found the idiot. Roronoa, how have you managed to get lost yet again? Where did you pick this beast up from?”
With a sigh he turned on his heel and allowed them both entrance. “Let us see what can be found in the kitchen then. roronoa, can you not free yourself from that?” How pitiful. All he could do was sigh and pinch the bridge of his nose. How had he come to such a life?

Yay! Your rules seem simple enough, I love laid-back writers! Your writing is great so I hope you’re ready for floods of requests to come in! Could I request brief scenarios (or headcannons if it’s easier) on Zoro, Law, and Kid going on a mission and they have to act like a couple with their crew member that they may have a *slight* crush on?? 😍
Zoro, Law and Kid having to pretend they’re a couple with the crush for a mission
Tumblr media
Oh shit, they have to be kidding! Zoro isn’t nearly ready for this level of responsibility just yet! Why couldn’t he chop down another rampaging dragon? Or battle another samurai in a test of skills?? Even babysitting Luffy would be preferable to this mission where he has to pretend he’s… involved with the person he’s started to develop a crush on! He’s going to make a fool of himself.Inwardly Zoro is screaming, but his face remains stoic as it’s the only way the Straw Hats are going to get into the LevelyBall without raising suspicion. The Heavenly Kingdom of Mary Geoise is one of the hardest places in the world to crack and Zoro is the only one that’s both strong enough to survive any trouble without the distractions of food or treasure. Fortunately their latest crewmate is relatively unknown and has the influence necessary to get them into the kingdom, and Zoro is renowned for his swords. Without them, he feels so uncomfortable but… Luffy needs him, and so do many of their friends and allies who needed answers locked away in that terrible kingdom...Whatever, he can do this. Zoro sucks it up for his crew’s sake knowing how important this mission is to everyone. He’s determined enough and trusts in his crush to get them in and out without too much trouble, or worse, end up with a fate worse than death. The ruse worked like a charm. With a bit of help from Nami, Robin, Princess Shirahoshi and Vivi, Zoro slipped in with his crush unnoticed, the picture of a perfect gentleman who drew the eyes from even a few of the Celestial Dragons dancing at the Ball. When opportunity arose, it was a simple matter for the two of them to cause an argument between rival families, causing the distraction necessary to slip away from the party and open up the place for Luffy and his crew.Needless to say, the party ended with a bang and the rush to escape was exhilarating. The thrill of the open sea chase, the battles against new foes and an increased bounty on the Strawhat Crew made Zoro’s day so much better along with having their mission having gone as smoothly as it had. There was a smile on the swordsman’s face all night, but most notably to Zoro’s surprise when thinking back to the dance with his crush that stole everyone’s attention that evening…Apparently Mihawk had taught him more than just swordsmanship during his stay at the Warlord’s Castle!
Tumblr media
If it was for the sake of a mission, Law wasn’t going to say no in pretending he’d gotten a partner somewhere over time. Besides, his new crewmate was kind of cute and he’d been wanting to get to know them a little better for some time now. Somehow he’d always gotten sidetracked, Bepo needing his advice with something or something happened like a Sea King spotting the submarine, pulling his attention away from the new crew member...Finally came the perfect excuse however; an invitation to one of Big Mom’s weddings.Law wasn’t sure WHY he’d been invited by the Yonko to some wedding. Perhaps Big Mom wanted an opportunity to discuss a future alliance or something? Whatever, he’d show up just to be polite and give the old biddy no reason to hold a grudge against him and his crew. He could use a bit of free time anyway and it would be a good opportunity to test the Yonko’s defences - as well as see what the rest of her ‘family’ and Totland were like.If he had to be honest with himself, Law was a little nervous about the upcoming meeting. He’d escaped one family already and had no wish to get involved with another, especially upon learning of Big Mom’s penchant for marrying her children off to powerful suitors…“Hey, [y/n]-ya. I have something to discuss with you, just something about a simple mission. Don’t look so nervous now, it’ll only be for a short while, okay?” he explained, smiling to help reduce their nervousness and keep the mood light. His heart skipped a beat when they smiled and agreed to his plan after he’d told them about his concerns, looking surprisingly comfortable with the idea of becoming his temporary lover.Did they… feel the same about him as he did about them?Nonetheless, the Surgeon of Death was pleased. Now Big Mom wouldn’t get any funny ideas about threatening him or his crew in order to force him into her family or whatever, and when the day of checking in arrived, the very breath from Law’s lungs was stolen away upon finding his crush in a stunning outfit...”Hey…. not bad, [y/n]-ya. Now, shall we go?” he asked, extending a hand towards his crush politely. He couldn’t help but smile throughout the boring introductions with all sorts of idiots upon entering Totland. All the big names and faces were here, and Law’s smugness only increased further upon noticing that he was the only other Supernova present aside from ‘Gang’ Bege who lived in Totland anyway. And then it happened, just as he and his crush were really getting to know one another. Motherfucking Strawhat Luffy, as Kid said one time.Part of Law could only laugh inwardly at what resulted next, then he cursing Luffy’s name as Big Mom inevitably went on a rampage upon ‘her’ wedding cake being destroyed. Why did shit always happen because of Straw-ya? Time to go, Law thought to himself, using his powers to switch them both well away from the chaos and out of Totland alongside the Straw Hats. All in all, aside from the interrupted kiss, Law had enjoyed himself quite a bit with his crush and it had only deepened during the brief time they’d spent together!
Tumblr media
Out of everybody mentioned, Eustass Kid is by FAR the most comfortable with the idea of pretending his crush was his significant other. Not only was the newbie pretty damn cute in his eyes, they had to go along with the idea for the sake of their captain and the rest of the crew. Honestly, it was pretty easy stuff compared to some of the initiation missions that the others had gotten - and even most of the typical missions they went through together on a weekly basis. If he had to be perfectly honest, Kid counted himself quite merciful that this was their big test!“Alright, [y/n]. Count yourself lucky; you and I need to pretend to be together for a couple of hours so we can get something done. Just leave it all to Captain Kid, and everything will go down smoothly…” he grinned woflishly at his crush, the killer man’s fiery orange eyes sizing the other person up and down as though judging their worth.Well, wasn’t that a big surprise? They didn’t seem shaken by the idea at all and even seemed at ease with his plan. Good, that would make everything a lot easier if they appeared more natural together, and Kid wasn’t shy about his deeper interests at all when it was time to act…Slinging his good arm around the other, Kid sauntered into the bar as though he owned the place and had his crewmate sit along beside him, his complete and utter attention fixated purely on the object of his desires over the course of that evening. It didn’t hurt that they weren’t bad to look at either, and Kid found himself enjoying the casual interaction, getting deeper and deeper into his cups as he got more and more hands on…A pained scream suddenly filled the air behind them, and Kid could only smirk as he turned to spy Killer - mechanical claws and all - currently embedding them into the flesh of somebody who’d pissed Kid off the other day. That little shit must have thought he’d gotten away with what he’d done and came crawling back to the bar again, expecting the red-haired man to have forgotten everything as though he were some fool!Well, Kid didn’t forget and he certainly didn’t fucking forgive either, watching the poor idiot bleed out and die in the dirt down where he belonged. The casual slaughter of another in the bar had shaken the others of the idiot’s crew, suitably cowing them into submission once and for all. Satisfied that his point had been made, Kid rolled the shredded body aside with his boot in disgust and tugged his crewmate along, keeping them well away from the spreading puddle of blood below”Good work, [y/n]. Now that shit’s sorted out, we can go.”The bar was silent as the Kid Pirates paid for their drinks and left, and Kid knew what his crewmate must have been thinking. All that time and effort just to deal with one man? Why? Kid snorted for the reason had been as petty as it had been cruel - the idiot had snatched a glance at his crush and hadn’t been subtle about it either, smirking at Kid as he’d slipped away into the crowd before Kid could respond to the challenge. The bar they’d visited was renowned for violence, and the last thing Kid wanted was for anyone to think his crush was open for anyone’s attention - or that any challenge would go unpunished.“He had a glass in his hand. Killer stopped him from hitting you from behind,” his crush said suddenly, apparently having taken note of the situation. Kid could only smirk at how well things had gone; he was no stranger to committing acts of gratuitous violence, but he’d come off looking the bigger and better man to everyone, especially for the impressionable newbie to look up to…“Oh, that. Yeah, things like that happen sometimes and that’s what I wanted you to learn tonight. Along with how we deal with pieces of shit like that around here…” the red-haired man grinned over at Killer, knowing the masked man held a similar expression beneath his cover. What a great night! Kid had only wanted to sort out the fool who thought it was okay to eye up his new crewmate but everything had gone better than planned, the swift and sudden slaughter having stunned everyone else into silence that night. He’d even gotten a little hands-on action... which he might continue later on with if they didn’t object to it!

Lydia Rae Mihawk
Lydia Rae Mihawk  flashback leading to present Drabble Oc fanfic part 2 of this OC series Disclaimer I do not own One Piece or its respectful characters. Lydia smiled as she roamed her father's castle. Zoro was due to leave any day now to meet up with his crew. He had grown so much stronger, an had matured alittle more. Mihawk had trained them both Zoro more so than her. She understood, after all she didn't have the same drive as Zoro did when it came to swords. She definitely preferred her whip and dual cross pistols.  His crew, his dream, promise to a friend making him much more commendable. She had grown to respect him as a swordsmen and a man. While she was on the island she had grown closer to her father and also to the moss-haired swordsmen with no since of direction. She didn't think she could grow to admire both men in different ways so much. Well lets face it she never expected to meet and successfully talk to her father.  An as she wandered she thought back to her first meeting  with Zoro and the strawhats what a rocky one that was. She had been leaving a bar after grabbing some food and information from the locals. Immediately after she left the bar she heard people shouting and some bulk man practically ran her over. She moved out of the way annoyed, when she heard a tiny teary feminine voice yell "Someone stop him, he stole all my purse." Without thinking Lydia was already running after the man. Her eyes narrowed, as he tried to slip through the crowed. she unfurled her whip at her side and used it to scale the next building eyes never leaving the man she was pursing. He had no idea she was on to him. Perfect. She smirked. He was in the clear, so he thought. He had just escaped the mass confusion and crowd created with his latest victims scream had caused. He was smiling it happened all the time, he'd pick a small defenseless lady. As the shock would wear off if his victim noticed the shock of her yell would cause enough chaos for him to get away. Today would be no different it seemed.  Just as that thought left his head. "Hey scumbag wipe that nasty grin off your face you haven't gotten away with anything yet." an angry voice yelled from above but it sounded closer. That was he last thought before he was sent rolling to the ground. Lydia had dove off the roof knocked the man down but was back up on her feet.  The look on the mans face was priceless. But she had gained the attention of a few onlookers. "You really shouldn't make a habit of targeting women for your crimes not all of us will let you off so easy."  The man was staggering up to his feet angry. "Let me off easy ha don't make me laugh, an what business is it of yours I didn't steal from you wench. What are you a hero or something?" He sneered. "You sure don't look like a marine off duty."  Her golden eyes narrowed even more today was a really bad day. and she didn't feel like she needed to hear any badmouthing from anyone else much less a theif. "No mister lucky for you I'm not a marine. Nor can I be involved with them or anyone of the law myself. But thats also really bad for you cause that means I do things my own way. An I just felt like helping out after you rudely bumped into me trying to get away. So if you don't mind lets go hand back what you stole. I don't really feel like fighting you."  The man had doubled over in laughter. Thats it she thought.  Quick as a snap her whip was out made the man drop the purse he was holding to the ground she snapped it again it was around the mans neck as she yanked him in her direction, it going lax as she delivered a quick blow to his face to KO him. She quickly walked over and dusted the purse off. Just then the owner of the voice she heard cry out earlier had made her way over to her. "Thanks a bunch miss. I had more important things than just money in there." She had puffy eyes from crying but smiled politely. Handing it over. "Everything in there?," waiting for the girl to finish checking. "Thats good, be more careful with your belongs and of your surroundings. Sometimes not even being out in a public or crowded area is safe." With that she began to walk off. "Miss wait isn't there something I could do to repay your kindness?"  Turning to cast one glance over her shoulder Lydia restrained herself for asking for any compensation. She had treasure on the ship when it came to her. "Yeah just when the guys come to arrest him don't even mention me , you'll be saving me some trouble ." An with that she left the woman behind with a puzzled expression. Sighing she thought great hot-head if she puts two and two together an decides to report you your gonna have to make another break for it. She wasn't really paying attention when a weapons shop caught her eye. Just like the bartender had said. Just as she was about to enter someone opened the door an nearly slammed it in her face. Snapping "Hey dumbass don't throw open doors like that you could've hit me." She fumed into a person chest, looking up she discovered  the owner to be a smug looking green haired man. "Don't stand in front of doors and you won't get hit."   Narrowing her eyes, noticing the swords at his sides. This man had just got smart with her, while she was used to men being afraid of her, only drunks being flirty, merchants and people she helped being somewhat friendly. She was only used to her opponents and enemies acing like that. The fact he had carried swords made her want to punch him into next week. He stared her in the eyes not budging .  " I wasn't just standing here in the way, like you are, I was actually coming in here to buy something." At that statement his eyes widen as he seemed to take in her appearance and weapons at her sides. "You a bounty hunter or something he offered weakly?" Smirking as he stepped aside. "No, not that its any of your business swordsman, I'm a pirate." An with that she passed him not noticing he had stepped back in the shop to follow her. She gazed around quickly glancing at the swords, concluding none of them worth anything. She returned her gaze to the other weapons she grabbed a few boxes of ammo and just for the heck of it she picked up a nice dagger that caught her eye. Paying the clerk and exiting the store. She continued on her way noticing irritably the man was still following her. "What? Why are you still following me?" She asked turning her gaze to him. "You a bounty hunter then?  this pirate catch your attention she mocked."Eyes widening at her not knowing who he was he snorted "Don't flatter yourself, I technically got lost and found the shop when looking for the rest of my crew.  I figured since you have the log pose on your wrist that you'd know where your going and could point me in the direct or if I'd follow you around long enough I'd run into someone I know."  He was about to brag about who he was , and suggest if she got smart he might turn her in for some cash since he was broke. When she commented. "So your directionally challenged then. So sad for your crew they must have a terrible time keeping track of you." She noted even though he said he'd follow her he'd veered off from her. Grabbing his arm, sighing "I'll take to you to a place where you can get some food and thats not far away from shops and the docks. It'll be less likely for you to get lost. that way."  She led him by the arm, it was strange he was fairly attract but he was already causing her problems. He was grumbling the whole way there with a blush on his face, however he did not offering to pull away from her. Clicking her tongue she turned her gaze to his face " To prideful to accept help one time? I have no doubt you can break free of my grip if you wished to do so. If your not going to do that don't make this anymore difficult for me than it already is." After her quick quip she was dragging him along but this time in silence before she heard a quite. "You didn't have to help me, not like I directly asked you , besides we very well could be enemies. " That paused her movements. "Am I your enemy?" She asked quietly. He had went silent again trying to figure this woman out. But he wasn't really good at that. Zoro knew he was only good at a few things and stuck to that. Noticing her lips turn up into a smile he thoughts seem to stop as she began to speak. "Doesn't really matter. I still wanna help, besides its not like its known if we are, not now anyway. Beside already halfway there and I don't want you getting you turned around again. His eyes softened at her tone before she decided to make a jab at him again. They were walking again. The hell was she doing to him. They made it to her destination and seated themselves at a table where they order drinks. They were actually starting to get along and make conversation. Despite him typically being quiet Zoro found himself intrigued by the woman infront of him. Her golden eyes were unique. Oddly familiar but he was sure he'd never seen her before. He stated after awhile had passed what her crew would think about her being gone. When a bitter smile crossed her face, don't have one. He nearly spit out his drink. "Your a pirate and you don't have a crew?" He thought her of her as someone more planned out than Luffy. "No I prefer to work alone for now. While I do have a bounty my goals for now do not require me to have one." "So what your bounty?" She asked, she had a feeling she knew who he was, after all he carried three swords, and his aura said it all. He looked at her debating on if he should tell her, he looked so puzzled she leaned over. "I haven't read the poster in awhile want to know how much more I have until I catch up with yours Zoro." She whispered his name so quietly he almost didn't catch it. His eyes met hers and her small smile. "Kinda hard to miss who you are if you know anything about pirates or bounty hunters." He took on a smirk and he chuckled. Causing her to raise her eyebrow. "So when you asked that question about the bounty earlier and all those snide remarks you knew who I was."  Smirking she replied. "Yeah I had an idea of who you were, after I through a couple insult your way. I don't typically back down from challenges especially when I have a bad day." She mused wasn't so bad after all she'd met a man who she secretly admired his skills for awhile. Bringing her out of her thoughts "So those the only weapons you use?" Smiling she stood placing her money on the table enough for her and his drinks. "Can't give away all of my secrets. Although I think I could spill one more to you" Winking at him she leaned down to whisper in his ear.  "Lydia Rae Morgan, hope to see you again one day Zoro." An with that  she was off. Finishing off his ale Zoro went to find his crew. No he hoped she wouldn't be his enemy in the future. When he arrived back everyone was in an uproar about where he'd been. Nami had hit him and called him an idoit for getting lost and deemed him hopeless to go out on his own. Zoros mind was on the woman he had met. Shaking his head he went to lift his weights before the love cook announced dinner.-------------------------------That had been their first meeting, they met again a few months later and thats when she'd met the strawhats crew. That was a pretty interesting encounter as well. There had been a ruckus in town earlier that had exposed her. Ever since her bounty had sky rocketed she had been getting more and more grief. She took on any challenges and defeated many vast enemies, only ever picking up her swords when she was desperate. She had met them while escaping the marines and ran smack dab into the swordsman and his crew. Groaning she untangled her limbs apologizing, about to pick herself up from the ground having indeed run into Zoro. He looked annoyed before recognition passed. "Lydia?" When she too realized who she tripped into. "The one and only Zoro." She seemed to beam at him. It had been awhile since they last met. She was so happy she got to see him again. Her smile faded as she thought that it could easily be the last time she saw him. She began to stand up him following suit, she took a minute to take in the crew she had heard about as they asked her questions, she answered a few before suggesting that all of them get out of the open before getting caught. The crew invited her aboard where they talked, and in the captain on words had a party to celebrate finding a friend. Luffy himself asked her a few questions the final one being would you join our crew to which everyone waited for answer. She had to think of it tactfully, she actually thought about it seriously but made her decision before she could change her mind. "I'm not telling you no, but I can't join right now I have somethings I need to take care of first. After its finished and if we meet again an if you and the rest of the crew is still willing to have me then I'll join everyone. How's that sound?" "Its a deal but keep your end of the promise alright." He stated very sagely. She smiled at him and nodded. If she had a sibling she very much would've liked to have a little brother like Luffy. They offered her a place for the night seeing it would be a few days before the log pose set. She had accepted it had been a fun couple of days. It was quiet, on the last day she'd spend there. Everyone was asleep she was on deck gazing out at the sea. Thinking she had met some pretty amazing people. Dare she say friends. Something Lydia had always wanted but never really had. To think she might have that made her happy. She tried to tell herself not to get so excited because what she was going to do next wasn't going to be easy. She didn't even know if she'd live through it. A few tears escaped her eyes. Thats when she heard footsteps. Quickly wiping her face drawing a couple deep breath to calm herself. "Couldn't sleep?" a deep voice rumbled. Zoro. "Could ask you the same thing." He leaned against the railing. "Nah sleep enough during the day, plus I keep watch at night." He had shared something. Ah what the hell "I don't sleep well to begin with. But I just got alot on my mind." He raised an eyebrow to her but didn't inquire anymore. Another thing she found herself liking about the man beside her. He was concerned in his own way but wouldn't push to get answer, she felt if it was serious however he might be more demanding about answer but left it alone. She was grateful. Finally she sighed. "I'd like to become apart of this crew if I complete my goal." He was about to ask why not now when he saw a tear roll down her face. "It's not something I want anyone to witness or be around for incase it doesn't happen. " He had a nagging  and panicky feeling when he saw her the tear. "You can still join even if you don't accomplish it. " He stated thinking about how he lost to Mihawk and how he was going to try again someday. "If I live through it I will." She mumbled it, but he still heard her. His eyes widen,  she hadn't thought she had said it but looking at his face confirmed I with. It was really great seeing you again Zoro. Give the crew my regards I'll see you again someday." She was about to dart off the ship. When his hand shot out and grabbed her shoulder. It puller her into a tight hug, something she hadn't experienced in years. He wasn't sure if it was okay. He didn't give many hugs or words of comfort. He was acting on instict at the moment. "Thats a promise right? That you'll see me again. And join the crew." He added as an after thought. His arms tightened when she didn't say anything. "Yeah Zoro, I will." She hugged him back. His arm loosened a little but he didn't let go yet.  She honestly could say she didn't want him to at least not yet. Her tears hit his shirt, her emotions were going crazy it had been a long time since she cried. She had been alone for so long  had kept to herself. The feelings were overwhelming. While she contained her sobs her body was shaking. Zoro pulled back to look at her.He could protect her from anything but herself he mused. She looked as lost as he was, he saw tons of emotions pass in her eyes. She just closed them and tried to get a hold of herself. As soon as she calmed she went lax in his arms, that was new. "Lydia when you come back you'll tell me more about you right. What you went to do, and about your past?" he felt her tense again. He was about to retract the last statement when she responded. "Of course. Will you tell me about you?" Smiling he mumbled "Sure." he hadn't let go of her yet, didn't want her running off just yet. She was pretty exhausted and stressed, listening to his heart beat was alittle calming before she knew it her heavy eyes closed. Zoro noticed she had gotten heavier like she'd let go of all her weight, when he gazed down he noticed she fell asleep  in his arms. Smiling he decided he might as well get comfortable. Remembering how she seemed hard to trust people at first and yet she had easily trusted him. He carried her over to one fo the girls laid back chairs and sat down in her line of sight so she wouldn't freak out if she woke up. "Nicely done swordsman-san." His eyes shot up to Robin.  "Both your secrets safe with me." she said mysteriously has one of her many hands dropped two blankets to him. (Robin knows all right.) He placed it over her and watching her caused him to drift into slumber himself. He was woken up later than usual, alarmed he fell asleep to begin with. Alittle distraught he thought is was all a dream. He didn't dare ask anyone about you. he was going to go sulk in his weight room when he heard. "Zoro." It was Robin she handed him a letter with your name on it and walked away. She paused. "She said she'd see us all again, and she'd join the crew then. However she might have a sixth sense she knew to hand the letter to me when she bid us a farewell. " With that robin took her place beside Nami who also witnessed Lydia hand Robin the letter for Zoro with no questions asked. "She handed me some Beli and promised to share her treasure with us." Robin smiled, that girl is good, she thought. She seemed to quickly fit in with everyone. In the short days they all spent with her. She played games with Ussop, Chopper, and Luffy.  Answer questions, proved to be skilled in many areas, hold conversations with everyone in the crew. An while she seemed to have some issues, was independent enough to wanna handle it on her own as well as much more. Robin and the rest hoped Lydia would return to the crew soon. Everyone already was more than ready for a new friend to join them.  However things escalated and the crew was separated. And then Marineford had happened. Lydia at that time had already completed two goals and she was patiently waiting to complete her third. She had tracked down her father Mihawk now. That brought them to where she was now. Just then she heard footsteps approaching. Her reminiscing put on hold, when Zoro seated  himself next to her. "Lost again?" She wanted to teased but her smirk turned into a smile. "No, I'm not for once I'm not lost. I had alittle trouble but Perona helped me find where you were at. I've been busy training but I do think you have more than one promise to keep."  Hey eyes had softened when he had unknowingly made her heart pick up speed. Only to realized he was probably the least romantic person ever but she could live with that. "Your right I do. Guess I'll go back with you then if you and your crew will have me?"  He looked over at her. "I'm sure the offer still stands. I have no complaints, I even have a sparring partner now I know one of your secrets. By the way what were you doing up here anyway?"  Lydia met his gaze,  "Being honest I was thinking about everything. But mainly you," She stammered with a blush. " I mean how we first met and the crew I mean." The smile that lit his face at her answer cause her blush and her heart rate to quicken. "Well at least I've already kept two of my promises to you Zoro. I did see you again, I'm joining the crew. Guess its only natural I keep the last one."--Zoro had listen to her childhood, asked a few questions. An he even told Lydia of his. "You know after I defeat your dad and take the title of the worlds greatest swordsman, we help Luffy and everyone complete their dreams. I think I want a family." Her eyes shot to him. Its something she didn't expect. His eyes had a glint to them. An while she was good at reading people some to her were just unpredictable.  "Although thats far into the future and I don't think that far ahead. Just typically a live for the moment kind of person. Wanna go on a date see what that kinda future holds?" Her eyes  widen and her face flushed, did he just. She felt an array of things. She didn't know how to respond to him. He looked away you don't have to answer now. Just thought I'd put it out there. He sounded almost disappointed. She hadn't rejected him , just didn't know how to answer. But she stood up walked over to him. His eyes went directly to her as she walked over. Her face was flushed and she cautiously wrapped her arms around him. "Zoro" She answered unsure. "I'm lost when it comes to things like this, I've missed out on alot of things. But I care about you alot. An its different than what I feel for my friends. Its alittle scary but I wanna try it. Be patient with me." She was starting to shake when he wrapped his arm around her. "So this you agreeing to be my woman?" Her blush darkened an she nodded her head. Zoro was the only person to make her feel this shy on top of other emotions. She took the liberty to move her head off of his chest an leaned up to kiss him on the cheek. Pleased with the blush on his face, took the opportunity to dash out of the hug. While in shock he came back to reality. "Hey Lydia you didn't answer my question" he shouted down the hall. Giggling was all he hard before she said. "If you can find and catch me Zoro I'll give you my answer." she shouted back. "If you can't, I'll give you a another chance to with a duel. Either way thats the only way you'll get your answer."  He took off after in the  sound of her voice. Hell he'd find her before dinner, no way he was gonna wait to duel her. She had stopped giggling an was sure she had gave them the slip when she saw her father. She made her way over to him. " Dad." She tired the word out on her tongue. He seemed pleased to hear her use it. "I think I know what I wanna do now, I found great friends before coming here. I'd like to go help them on their journey. It's the first time I had any thing like this since my time with mom. I'm really glad I got to meet you. An even more so you accept me for who I am. Keep my room open so I can come back an visit?" He stood up. He'd heard her an Zoro long before the man had asked his daughter out. He heard about her past, and even about the man he was sure would take his title. He felt pride in both, an while he was knew and very late to his fathering instincts, he approved of her choices. He hugged her. He could tell she was trying not to cry. "Anytime." He assured. "I support you. An I'll give you a transponder snail so you can contact me anytime you need or want to." Her smile was so bright he couldn't help but return with one of his own. He then turned to go to his room before dinner. Before he was at of her sight "Its a shame I won't get to see you duel him again before you go." An he closed his door. What did he mean. Oh! He had he heard that. Shit she was about to take off in a sprint but to arms had already grabbed her "Oh no you don't I won, found you, caught you."  Then she had the odd sentiment that her dad approved. "Zoro" Drawing his attention to her. She quickly pressed her lips to his pulling back before he could respond. "Yes, I'd like that alot." So the next chapter will begin. You have found your father, you've found friends/and joined a crew, you even found a future love, more importantly you found a home and a place to belong.

this post recently passed 1000 notes, so there’s some stuff i need to say
- i Slightly misremembered Mihawk’s boat. that’s okay, everyone makes mistakes, and not a single one of you corrected me. however, it’s actually worse than i remembered. here’s why:
1) i was wrong about it not having a sail. instead, Mihawk’s boat had a mast which was made to resemble the hilt of his big sword, because Mihawk can’t do anything without it being incredibly edgy and extra.
2) in every appearance the sails have been rolled up. does he even use them or are they just for show. how does he use that boat
3) i was informed via tags by many people that Mihawk’s ship ALSO has two candles at the front with green flames. GREEN FLAMES. i’ve lived four peaceful years of my life having read the manga, not knowing this extra-ass fucker has two green candles on the front of his ship but now i know and there’s nothing i can do about it. how the hell did he even MANAGE that. i’m literally so pissed off about this. how do they stay lit when he’s on the water? how do they not just burn away, does he have extra candles stored somewhere? why are they green?
4) did i mention the boat is named the Coffin Boat? that’s it’s name, apparently.
- according to official manga coloring, Mihawk has red eyes. RED EYES. please stop this man
- speaking of eyes, the guy’s got bulls-eye patterned irises? he’s lucky they aren’t red, honestly, or else he’d have two targets for eyes.
- his facial hair. just look at it.
- he’s only laughed like twice in the whole series and im pretty sure he was laughing at Zoro both times
- despite being a powerful and terrifying swordsman, most of the time when he appears on cover pages he’s doing shit like farming and hanging out with baby bears
- on one of the covers he’s enjoying a nice meal with Jinbei, and he eats it using his butter knife of death. he’s likely killed people with that thing and he uses it to eat his food
- his hat
- at Marineford, Mihawk cuts an iceberg in half. he was aiming for Luffy, missed, and cut the top off an iceberg bigger than an entire fleet of battleships
- Luffy was probably the shortest dude at marineford and he’s stick-thin, Mihawk had no reason to make a cut like THIS
Tumblr media
what was that about not needing cannons to hunt rabbits again?
- he wears nice shirts around the house at Kurigana but always goes out shirtless and in a cloak. sailing on the Grand Line and East Blue? shirtless. going to the biggest war of the century? titties out and ready for manslaughter
- he agrees to train Zoro for two years despite knowing that Zoro will one day use all that training to come back and kick his ass. he really has nothing better to do out there at his castle i guess?
- i once again have no idea how to finish off this list and still probably missed stuff, but i want to say i still absolutely fucking love Dracule Mihawk
list of reasons i find mihawk ridiculous
- he’s named Dracule and im p sure like half his personality is vampire aesthetic
- his name’s “hawk eyes” mihawk like he couldn’t emphasize HAWK enough
- sails all manner of dangerous seas in a coffin-shaped (and sized) boat to fit the vampire aesthetic
- the boats like literally just a chair in a coffin. there’s no oars or sails. how’s he steer? he just sit there and hope for the best? he’s got nowhere to store food for long journeys. how’s he even use that boat?
- lives alone on a scary island in a castle surrounded by blood thirsty monkeys, almost definitely to fit the vampire aesthetic
- i’m p sure it’s like eternally cloudy there or smth. whole place is surrounded by ruined towns and creepy forests and no other people. what’s he even do out there? i bet he’s reading cheesy vampire novels.
- leaves home for a while, returns to find two people he barely knows have taken up residence in his absence, barely cares
- one of the two people who took up residence in Mihawk’s castle is a guy who’s life mission is to beat Mihawk, he just lets the guy stay
- guy’s got like no friends. the closest he’s got to friends is like. Perona and Zoro who just kinda showed up at his house and Shanks who he mostly seems to like. tolerate
- he seems to find the concept of friendship scary as he’s got a quote where he says he finds Luffy’s ability to easily make friends to be terrifying. mihawk wtf
- chased down a pirate armada across two seas to destroy it just because he’s bored
- carries around two weapons, one being a big black sword the size of him and the other being a butterknife-sized version of that sword which he fights others with JUST bc he can to show off
- “you don’t need a canon to hunt rabbits” and you don’t need to be this over-the-top but here we are
- the butter knife is usually stored as a cross-shaped necklace, definitely to fit the vampire aesthetic
- fights a dude with the butter knife of death, and after deciding he likes the guy during the fight, does the guy the honor of finishing him off via cutting him the fuck in half with the giant sword
- i don’t have a way to end this list and im probably missing something but i’d like to say i love dracule mihawk
(thank you to @ayotofu for assistance on this list)
