Okay but an idea has struck me from above.

Dressrosa arc with Ancient Weapon Zoro. Doflamingo would probably clock Zoro has special because he noticed these things and he was a former CD. He knows.

So what if, during Punk Hazard, Zoro was captured by Doflamingo's forces and brought to Dressrosa to be used as the ancient weapon Ares. :D

So, Luffy teams up with Law to take down Doffy and save Zoro who is being tortured and forced to become a weapon to wipe out anyone who stands in Doflamingo's way.

You know Zoro isn’t making this easy for anyone not Dolflamingo not his kidnappers the fact they managed to kidnap him is a miracle in and of it’s self. And not any torturers, guards or any other person in a five foot diameter of him. Mans has conquerors haki, the knowledge (vaguely) of a primordial weapon. And enough spite to make you think he was the second coming with the amount of times he pops back to life from shit that should have in all right killed him.

When Dolffy isn’t cackling his weird monologues of world domination and vagrantly spraying his ‘yay! I am evil’ all over the wall like a Pomeranian who got a little too excited. He’s regretting his life choices also Zoro would have to be highly sedated due to aforementioned Conquerors Haki. So like a lot of potential for hallucinations as well as unlocking his past memories as the weapon Aries. Sucks that this is what Doffy wants so yeah.

But you know you know when Mihawk ‘I’ve had this feral weapon of mass destruction for one day and if anything happens to him I’ll kill everyone everywhere and then myself!’ That Mihawk hears the news? It’s all over.

Perona calls to bitch to the moss ball once again about Mihawk and his old man weirdness but instead gets Nami or Ussop who inform her Zoro can’t make it to the phone right now he’s too busy being kidnapped and more they likely tortured.

She tells Mihawk of course she’s practically screaming it so he would have heard it anyways— but he’s whole body just goes still no breathing no thought aside from the thought he needs to go pay his fellow war lord a visit.
