Nacht :

As we know, Nacht hates everyone but you. You are his ✨️protégé✨️ He's not the type to walk hand in hand down the street like couples do, but if he sees that you're not feeling very well, he'll hold your hand and smile at you so you don't forget that he's there for whatever you're feeling and if you want to go home, he'll take you there in seconds. When he goes on long missions, he sends you letters so you don't worry. I also see him buying those little souvenirs for you because he knows you like them. He knows your likes and dislikes, and because he's a man who doesn't really like talking about feelings so openly, he prefers to buy things for you that you like or do something for you. He is a man who prefers to put his feelings and respect for you in his actions. He is very protective of you and sometimes even too much. He always likes to keep an eye on you, especially when you go on a mission together, he will always come up with strategies so that you both can win without you got hurt. He'd rather be the hurt one than you. He couldn't bear to lose you like he lost his brother. He doesn't like it when you're around Yami, it makes him uncomfortable and as much as he doesn't admit it, you'll be able to see it in his cold, narrow eyes that won't let go of you for a second, while the captain is in the room. And on days when he's feeling more daring, he'll put an arm around your waist or if you're sitting down, he'll pull you into his lap. He likes it when you play with his hair when you are both having cuddle sessions before bed or at another time of the day. He really likes to kiss your forehead and hands (neck too but only when Yami is around). In short: Nacht is the perfect boyfriend

Zora :

This guy will tease you so much. Like, everyone knows what he's like so you better prepare yourself. He's not a big fan of PDA and he can actually ends up being even more stubborn about it. But if you hold his hand or steal a kiss, he won't deny it. Zora is the type who seems like he doesn't give a shit but in reality he will unconsciously spend the whole time with an arm over your shoulders and sometimes you have to warn him about this because he doesn't realize it. He's also the type who can't hide the fact that he's uncomfortable when he sees a guy approaching you and will even get in between you two if he starts making you uncomfortable. (No need to say that Zora will play a bad joke in that man...) He's always direct and sometimes arrogant with others but since he started a relationship with you, he is no longer as harsh as before (only if someone upsets this man a lot then he goes back to being the Zora he used to be) He also has a soft side especially when the two of you are alone and he lets you hug him as you play with his red strands and giving little kisses on his forehead. It may not seem like it, but his heart is softening with all the affection you are giving him When he goes on his long training trips he lets you go with him and you both train together. He's not the type to confess to you every day that he loves you, but his actions will say much more than a simple "I love you❤️".

- Not gonna lie, he's gonna want someone whom he can lift so he can fLEX on everyone-

- Forgive her she means well, but may or may not unintentionally offend by offering up diets and routines and walks around town together - I SWEAR she's only trying to be kind

- If you're honest about your feelings on it though, she feels just AWFUL and apologetic and buys you many, many gifts to try and make up for it

- Truthfully, you guys just kinda ended up becoming an item one day - rumors of a drunken kiss still floating around town, unconfirmed 

- Doesn't mind it too much all in all, especially if you spoil her

Finral

- He's a little apprehensive about it at first, his mind barreling back into the teasing of how scrawny and weak he is and he's not entirely confident in his ability to shall we say satisfy -

- Buuuut quickly says 'Screw it' when he realizes how amazing you are, on and off the battlefield 

- When I say this man cannot WAIT for the end of every night just to hold you??? I MEAN IT

-  Very soft for his soft s/o, would give them the moon

Charmy

- You already know she doesn't care like come on

- And honestly, she may try to pressure you into many, many impromptu snacking sessions. Food is cooked by her 97% of the time, always. 

- However if you have any personal health or fitness goals, Charmy is more than capable of curtailing menus to be healthy AND tasty so that's a plus for sure - but you will have to drag her along if you want her to walk with you

- Again, the relationship just sort of happened - even you two aren't quite sure when

Gauche

- Sorry lovelies but this man's first ever comment may be about your weight, granted he was already upset about Asta and Marie earlier but STILL - no bueno

- It's only after he starts getting to know you that he realizes what complete ASS he was during that first meeting. Will eventually apologize for that, it's said very softly and he sounds kind of annoyed but he's more annoyed with himself than anything 

- It's gonna take quite some time to worm much of anything that isn't full of sarcasm out of him, let alone a confession, unless you decide to take that first step

- Hope you're ready for the slowest of burns -

Gordon

- If you think this awkward bean would EVER judge you on your weight, or anything for that matter, think again!

- Absolutely adores you for you; all your dimples and folds, all your past trauma, every facet of you is something he wants to learn more of and explore - absolutely all of it

- He develops a crush pretty early on but good luck getting that confession out of him 

- Absolutely will nOT confess until you do because he needs to be 1000% sure he's not gonna scare you off like he did the others...

- Hand holding is must, it comforts him so 

- Truthfully anything more than light sweet touches will send him to the moon, so be wary of feinting if you go in for a smooch

Grey 

- So very, very shy this one is

- Doesn't actually care about your size, only about how you treat others and most importantly yourself - won't stand for negative talk and bombards you with "T-that's not true at all...!" followed closely by an entire assortment of things that make you so great in her eyes

- Just... so damn sweet 

- You'll definitely be the one initiating anything and everything romantic, to include a confession so uh yea 

- Just LOVES holding onto your arm once she's comfortable enough, both for support and as something of physical affection 

Zora

- Yeeeea dubs you something akin to 'Chubs' upon meeting you, there's like...no way around that. He's mostly harmless tho...mostly

- Truthfully tho he's actually really attracted to curves - not that he's ever gonna tell you that (not without a teasing smirk and remark, anyway)

- This sweetheart is just ecstatic he's found someone with such a plethora of mana (or no mana at all, your choice), someone he can actually be around for more than a few seconds - he does NOT care  

- Helps if you're nice, but won't shun you away if you have a mean streak- he's not that type of guy

- Believe it or not, he's actually the first to cave and confess his undying love - and no that is not an exaggeration he genuinely falls very hard and very fast 

- His biggest dream is to be able to hold you in his admittedly frail arms, caress your hair, and whisper sweet nothings to you as you drift to sleep

Secre 

- Not one for judgment, but also not one for romance so this one might be tough

- She's a sucker for people who are upbeat and positive though so if you've got that going for you, you stand a really good chance of at least grabbing her attention

- You'll be the one administering the confession , as well as many complements, to a very adorably flustered Secre and boy is that priceless

- May come as a surprise, but he doesn't really care about size - just about the character of your person 

- So yes he's all for someone on the curvy side, actually one of the few that compliments you outright upon meeting you

- Probably puts you through a serious of subtle tests to see how suitable you really are and how compatible you may be with him (cause let's face it, he plays for keeps) but he's very honest about the fact that he's interested in pursuing you romantically 

- Touches are feather light in public, but he very much likes to have his hand at the small of your back or gingerly around your waist

Yami

- Excuse me but this guy dreams of having some short, curvy so and so on his arm - someone he can really grab onto

Summary: Snow day turned into cuddles with the best prankster who is allergic to wearing a shirt.

Warnings: Not much, cursing, mentions of colds and frostbite, maybe ooc Zora

A/n: Hello everyone, I hope you enjoy this. I am aware some of the bulls are not mentioned, i just couldn’t think of what to have them doing. Also this is my first time writing for Zora so it may be a little off, I’m hoping with this event to write for more fandoms and maybe get some requests in as well, but who knows. Anyway, have fun, enjoy and remember to Hydrate or Diedrate.

      Winter has finally arrived in the Clover Kingdom, and I couldn’t be happier. Playing in the snow with friends and family, baking cookies and making candy, and drinking hot chocolate, just some of the many fun things to do when winter hits. And of course today was the first day that there was a decent amount of snow, and Captain Yami kindly gave all of us at the Black Bulls hideout the day off.

      Charmy decided she’s going to be baking and cooking all day, Vanessa is already passed out drunk, Magna and Luck are fighting over whatever one of them did this time, Gouache is well being Gouche, Gordon is trying to hang with gouache but is just being creepy, and Gray is hiding from everything. The more rambunctious and childish of the group were outside in the snow, this included Asta trying to get Noelle to participate in a snowball fight, Finral has made a snow person he’s practicing his flirting with. That just leaves Me and my grumpy boyfriend who just wants to go inside because ‘shit it’s cold out here’, I’m trying to get him to enjoy the chilly weather but Zora being well himself refuses to, I don't know, put on a shirt and try to enjoy this free time.

     “Come on, Y/n why do you want to be out here it’s freezing. Why don’t we go lay down and cuddle? Or steal whatever Charmy has made for the day, we could also mess up Gouche’s creepy sister shrine again.” I turned to the red head slouched against the wall, rolling my eyes at him in response. “What are you even doing over there? It’s just snow, what can you possibly be doing with it?” He asked, pushing off the wall, moving to look over my shoulder.

     I lend further over my creation to hide it from him. “You don’t get to see it until it’s done. If you don’t want to be out here, you can go in if you want. If you really want to mess with the others, have fun, I’m enjoying it out here.” I tried to tell him he didn’t have to stay out here.

     “You know it’s not as fun if you’re not helping, plus you know where Vanessa hides her booze. Plus you could get sick if you stay out here too long.” Zora said, still trying to see the snow creation I was working on.

     “Why do you want Vanessa’s booze? You know what nevermind with that, but seriously if you want to go inside you can, I won’t blame you. I just hoped we could do something fun out here, instead of staying cooped up all day. And I won’t get sick, I’ll be fine.” I said, leaning back to show him what I had finished making.

     Zora paused processing the drawing I had carved in the patch of flat snow in front of me. It was a crescent moon along the side of one of his trap spells, to represent both of our magics, in the center was our initials. “I know it’s cheesy and won’t last long out here cause it will melt eventually, but it just popped into my head and I need to physically see it and show you. I was thinking we could maybe get it made into necklaces or something?” I explained my thinking. I hoped he understood what I was saying.

     “It’s amazing. But why draw it out here in the snow, if you want to get it made into necklaces or something you’re gonna have to draw it again on paper, why not wait till you go inside?” He asked, looking at me quizzically.

     I thought for a second before answering. “I just didn’t want to forget it plus, I want to stay out here as long as possible. Since I finished, would you want to pummel Asta with some snow balls?” I asked knowing he would want to cause some kind of trouble.

     He just groaned at the thought of being in the cold any longer. “Fine but after we bury him in the snow we are going inside and cuddling.” He answered standing up straight and offering me his hand to help me up.

     “Deal as long as we get Hot cocoa before cuddles.” I started moving behind a tree close to where Asta was now trying (and failing) to build a snowman. “Let’s hide from him here and make some snowballs, before we launch our attack.” I said bending down and beginning to make some roughly ball shaped clumps of snow to throw at the young boy.

     After about ten minutes of making and throwing snowballs at a screaming Asta, and him running over Finral. Zora and I decided it was time to go inside for the rest of the day and finally get some hot chocolate, mostly because Zora’s chest was now bright red from being in the cold for so long while shirtless.

     We made our way inside, snagging some cocoa and cookies from Charmy, before heading up to our shared room. I couldn’t help but laugh as the normally grumpy and closed off Zora dropped onto the bed sighing while thanking whoever assigned our room for it having walls without cracks so the cold couldn’t be felt inside it. 

     “You know if you put on a shirt you wouldn’t be so cold in the winter right?” I asked, raising an eyebrow as I took a sip of my hot cocoa.

     He just rolled his eyes standing up and taking his mask off, walking over to me. “If I wore a shirt, you would be robbed of the second best sight known to man. The first being your face after I do this.” I was confused for a moment before he lent in, placing a kiss on my lips, before pulling away with a smirk. “See that’s the face, all shocked and confused.” He said turning back to the bed to pull the covers down. “Stop gaping like a fish and come lay down, I’m still fucking freezing and need your body heat so get over here.” He complained, laying down on his side of the bed having taken off the rest of his flashy clothes opting for a pair of sweatpants, he’s still shirtless but at least he’s under the blankets.

     I rolled my eyes moving to kick off my boots while hanging up my coat. Crawling under the covers I was met with very little warmth as Zora’s ice cube off a body sapped all the heat from the bed. “Holy fuck Zora you’re so fuckling cold.” I said moving to cuddle up to him. “I wouldn’t be shocked if you get frostbite or something, damn.” He just chuckled but pulled me closer, sighing at the fact that I was at least a little bit warmer than he was. “Next time we go out in the cold, will you at least wear a coat, it doesn't have to be zipped just enough to keep your arms warmer.” I tried to bargain with him.

     He paused before responding. “Fine, but I better get cuddles anyway.” I just nodded, now focused on warming him up while also trying not to fall asleep. “Go ahead and sleep. I'll be fine with you snuggled up to me being a space heater.” He said, rubbing my head. Letting out a yawn, I mumbled a quick I love you before falling asleep. The last thing I heard was Zora’s quiet response. “I love you, too, today was fun even if it was freezing.” He quickly followed suit in sleeping.

     The next day when  we woke up it became apparent that Zora was right about getting sick staying in the cold. But finally the jokes on him, cause he’s the one to wake up the sniffles and a slight fever. His pouting and grumbling could be heard throughout the hideout as he complained about it the rest of the day.

First:

I walk around the city, patrolling. It was the Golden Dawn’s turn to patrol. My least favorite mission. A little girl and her mother sharing ice cream. A man walking, playing with a rock. I shake my head, confused. Suddenly a small body runs into me, causing me to lose my balance. Bracing for the rough impact, my brows furrows when arms wrap around me instead. “What? Are you nobles too good to watch where you're walking?” I roll my eyes, wiping the imaginary dust off my pants. Inhaling, I calm myself. “Thank you for catching me. I appreciate it.” Without waiting for a response, I ask away, continuing my patrol.

Second: The Royal Magic Knight Exams

I stand to the side, smiling at my squadmates. Against everyone’s disapproval, I did not sign up for the exams. “Are you sure?” I nod, smiling at Mimosa. "I’m sure." The battles rage on, varying from Yuno winning and defeating the Aqua Deer captain to Vice Captain Langris becoming deadlier than I have ever seen.

After the tournament ends, I search for Yuno, wanting to congratulate him. “Excuse me.” I say, pushing past some of the Blue Rose knights. “Watch out!” A green haired mage whispers beside me before another hits me. “That was bahhawful.” The green mantis exclaims, pushing me to the ground. I glare at the mage who has the audacity to look down at me as if it were my fault. “Apologies to the lady.” A deep voice growls behind me. My head swivels to the side. The guy from my patrol. I would remember that mask from anywhere, only last time he wasn’t wearing the cape.

A calloused hand reaches out. Taking it without hesitation, he pulls me off the ground. “Apologies.” The mantis gulps visibly. “S-sorry.” He utters, before running away.

“Do you live for us commoners to save you from the floor?” I roll my eyes. “Only for a certain commoner. He seems to always be there to catch me.’ I look down at his hand still wrapped around mine. “What’s your name?” His eyebrows raise. “Do you not pay attention?” His free hand pointing to the cape. “I know you're not Xerx. So I will ask again.” He nods, face void of emotion. “Zora. Zora Ideale.” I hum, a soft smile on my face. I lean up, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. “Thank you Zora Ideale.” A mark from my lips gloss glistens in the sun as I pull my hand free. “See you soon, my fair Knight.”

Here you are, laying in bed on the big day. The sun is shining brightly on the the luminous stone architecture just outside your door, the breeze slightly cooler this morning due to the winds drifting north from the top of Mount Lanayru. You’re supposed to be traveling to Kakariko Village today to study the freshly fallen ‘Ring Ruins’, but…

you’re sick…

You let out a pitiful cough, your nose running like never before. You grab a tissue and blow your nose into it, tossing the tissue in the trash bin next to your bed just after. Your head is so heavy, and it’s hard to keep yourself sitting upright. You desperately want to go on this trip. It’s your dream, getting to study the unknown. But, wow, is your body telling you to stay in bed.

There’s a knock at the door.

Slowly, you get up, trying to not to move too quickly. You slide on your robe over your pajamas and put on your fuzzy slippers, making your way to the door. Once you open it, Bazz is leaning in the doorway with a smile. “Good morning, y/n! Are you rea—” His face drops when he sees you, noticing just how sickly you look. “Oh, y/n…”

He follows you back inside, insisting on making you a cup of tea. “Go lay in bed, y/n. I’ve got it.” 

You discard you robe and slippers and crawl back under the sheets, wrapping yourself in a cocoon to keep warm. Bazz comes into your room not soon after with a piping hot cup of tea and some medicine. “Here you are, my angelfish.” he says as he sets everything on your bedside table. He takes a seat next to you, wrapping you in his arms. “I’m sorry you’re not feeling well.”

You sigh. “I was supposed to be going to study the ruins today…” you say. Bazz can’t help but to look at you with worry as you speak, your voice sounding quite congested and hoarse. He holds you a little tighter in his grasp. “I wanted to go…”

“Oh, y/n…” he kisses the side of your head. “I know. You were so excited. And I was excited for you.” he says quietly. “But, I’m sure there will still be an opportunity once you’re feeling better.”

“Yes but,” you huff. “it’s my job! I’m supposed to be there!” 

You cough once more, Bazz giving you another look of worry. “Shh shh shh…” He leans over you and grabs the medicine on your bedside table, trying to remember the dosage. “Here,” he says. “take this and drink your tea. The ruins aren’t going anywhere.”

You take the medicine Bazz gives you, grimacing from the taste. “But, I have a huge report due about it, Bazz!” You take a sip of tea, the warmth of it soothing your throat. “I’m not going to finish it. Then my job will be in jeopardy, and I—”

“Y/n, darling…” Bazz interrupts. “You can’t control this. There’s no reason to get so upset. I know you well enough to say that your job will not be in jeopardy. It’s okay.”

You know Bazz is right. You sigh once more, taking another sip of tea. “I know…” You look as if you could cry. “But Calip wa—”

Bazz takes the cup of tea from your hands and sets it on the bedside table. “Calip can get over it.” he says softly, smiling at your tenacity. “Right now, let’s focus on making you feel better.”

You lay down, Bazz letting you rest your head on his chest. He runs his fingers through your hair, gently kissing the top of your head. You smile slightly, hearing his heart beat. “Get some rest, my sweet y/n. You need it.”

if it didn’t come easily to you, you can count on her to take her time to explain things from a new angle

I get the feeling that she’s quite good at that, like she’s quite imaginative and can come up new perspectives or analogies that will help you understand the technique she’s describing

regardless of whether you’re a natural or not, she’s going to be so proud of you at every step

she’s quite collected, but she will absolutely suggest treats to celebrate the smallest of victories!

and she will compliment you! it may be a little awkward at first, but as time goes on you’ll get the hang of what she means

she is absolutely a firm believer in taking regular breaks

overworking yourself in trying to do anything, but especially magic, will do you know good and she will not let you hurt yourself in the process of learning

she can be stern when needed so don’t expect her to be lenient with you on that front!

she will keep a close eye on you, especially since she knows magic well and she’s aware of what the warning signs are for someone overdoing it

so if she spots the slightest signs of weariness, she’s checking in with you. if you say you can keep going she will allow it—she trusts you to know what your body can handle!

but if you’re being too reckless with it, she will step in and call for a break (and some lovely refreshments) or even the training off for the day if she’s genuinely worried

she’ll use the opportunity to show you what magical fatigue feels like, though. so there is a silver lining

if you do wear yourself out, she will dote on you

not anywhere near enough to be overwhelming, as it won’t even be in an overt way

she will simply pick things up around you, do small extra tasks before you can ask, and insist that you rest

she likes to be helpful! a little smile when she stacks paperwork for you and whatnot is the sweetest so let her, please!

she will also make sure you’re well fed and well rested as she sees it as very important

supposedly important enough that she will manage to forget to do it herself…

don’t hesitate in reminding her to rest too, and being her to bed if needed! all she needs is a moment to realise how tired she is, and she will follow

she may need a little bit of extra reassurance, that the things she needs to do to help the domain can be done tomorrow. once she realises this though she’ll be out like a light!

you two working together as a team is the best way to get things done! so she believes wholeheartedly that you can learn healing magic as well as her—perhaps even better! all you need to do is do it together

if there’s something that you can teach her, magical or skill-wise, then she’s really interested in trying to pick it up! even if it doesn’t come naturally to her at all

taking an interest in your life is a way that she shows love, and she wants to be a part of it whenever she can

and being a team is exactly what she needs to flourish

overall incredibly supportive and sweet!

In the kingdom of Clover, nestled deep within a shadowy forest, a secluded hideout glowed faintly beneath the star-lit sky. Zora Ideale was leaning against the moss-covered walls, arms crossed, a familiar smirk on his face as he looked at Y/N.

"You really think you’re cut out for this, huh?" he teased, his eyes flickering with mischief. Despite his taunts, there was a sharpness to his gaze—a certain intensity that told Y/N he was dead serious.

Y/N met his gaze, unwavering. “I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t.”

The mission they’d taken on was nothing short of reckless. A powerful rogue mage was terrorizing a nearby village, his fire-based spells blazing through crops, homes, and people without mercy. Rumor had it he’d mastered a rare form of destructive magic, one powerful enough to incinerate entire landscapes in seconds. The Magic Knights hadn’t been able to get close to him, but Zora, with his traps and cunning, had a plan—one that might be crazy enough to work.

Zora pushed himself off the wall, studying Y/N with an almost begrudging admiration. “Alright, then. Just remember, this guy doesn’t play nice. If things get bad, I’m not dragging your charred remains out of there.”

Y/N rolled their eyes. “I’ll keep that in mind.”

The night of the mission was darker than any they’d seen, the air heavy with an ominous energy. The village lay in ruins, embers glowing like fallen stars. The rogue mage stood in the center, flames swirling around him as if he commanded hell itself.

Zora and Y/N crept through the shadows, moving in sync as they approached. Zora’s traps were already laid out, hidden in the soil, branches, and rocks that surrounded the mage. The plan was simple: draw him into the traps, wear him down, and neutralize his fire magic before he could set the entire forest ablaze.

As they edged closer, the mage’s voice echoed across the field. “More vermin? Don’t you know this kingdom is destined to burn?” He raised his hands, summoning pillars of fire that twisted into the night sky.

Another rogue mage emerged from the shadows, flames dancing in his hands as he sneered at them. “More sacrifices to the fire? Pathetic,” he spat, raising his hands as a wall of flame surged forward.

“Guess he’s not big on friendly chats,” Zora muttered. He caught Y/N’s eye, nodding subtly. “You ready?”

Y/N gave a fierce grin, hands sparking with their own magic. They dashed forward, sending a blast of energy toward the mage, a distraction just as Zora’s first trap exploded beneath him, sending flames scattering.

The mage stumbled, and for a brief moment, surprise flashed across his face. He steadied himself, snarling. “You think a few cheap tricks are going to stop me?”

“Oh, these aren’t just any cheap tricks,” Zora called, smirking. He moved swiftly, his traps surrounding the mage like a net tightening around its prey. Each step the mage took was another explosion, another snare drawing him in, slowing him down.

But the mage was relentless, his fire blazing brighter and hotter with each step. “If I’m going down,” he growled, “I’m taking all of you with me. Ill burn this place down!!”

In that moment, he released a massive wave of fire that scorched the ground, threatening to overtake them. Y/N shielded their face, heart pounding as the flames closed in. They glanced at Zora, who was already muttering under his breath, cursing the mage’s raw power.

“Got any last ideas?” Y/N shouted over the roar of the flames.

Zora grinned, his eyes glinting. “Just one.”

With that, he unleashed a final trap—a massive sigil he’d crafted from all his remaining power, one designed to absorb and reflect magic. The fire turned back on the mage, who stumbled in shock as his own flames engulfed him.

The firestorm subsided, the mage’s screams fading into silence. Zora panted, wiping sweat from his brow. He turned to Y/N, who was breathing heavily but very much alive.

“Told you we’d make it,” he said, his smirk softer this time.

Y/N laughed, exhaustion catching up with them as they gazed at the smoldering ruins of the village. “Yeah. But let’s not make this a habit.”

Zora chuckled, glancing out over the burnt land, his expression uncharacteristically thoughtful. "Maybe we can’t save everyone. But at least, tonight, we stopped one more from letting the world burn to a crisp."

Y/N met his gaze, understanding the unspoken weight in his words. They both knew that, as long as people like that rogue mage existed, they’d be fighting to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves.

In the stillness of a smoky battlefield, embers floated through the darkening sky, casting a soft glow across the destruction. Zora Ideale and Y/N stood side by side, shoulders brushing as they faced the chaos ahead. The village behind them was in ruins, and the rogue mage responsible was lurking somewhere beyond the haze, a figure in the distance draped in shadow and power.

Zora’s usual cocky smirk was absent, replaced with a focused intensity that seemed almost out of character. He was rarely one to get sentimental, but right now, as he looked at Y/N, something inside him shifted. He couldn’t quite place it, but there was a strange, fierce protectiveness that had been growing with each passing day, each mission they’d taken on together.

Y/N shook their head, soft look etched on their face. “You really think I’d leave you there alone?”

Zora gritted his teeth, glancing away as though he could hide the faint hint of vulnerability in his eyes. “Don’t be stupid. This isn’t about heroics. It’s about surviving.”

Without a second thought, Zora pushed Y/N behind him, raising his own traps as a shield, his anti-magic arrays sparking to life. The flames struck his magic circles and dispersed, but the impact was strong enough to make him stumble. He glanced back at Y/N, a strange fire in his own gaze. From the other mange that they seemingly forgot about.

“Listen to me,” he said, his voice thick with an edge Y/N had never heard before. “I know you want to stay. I get it. But I’d let the world burn before I let anything happen to you.”

Y/N blinked, taken aback by the intensity in his words. They’d seen Zora angry, bitter, and mischievous, but they’d never seen him like this—like he was willing to set everything around him ablaze if it meant keeping them safe.

“Zora…” Y/N began, but he cut them off, stepping forward and raising another set of traps around the rogue mage, boxing him in.

“I’m not leaving you to handle this alone,” Y/N insisted, standing at his side, their own magic flaring in the dim light.

He shot them a quick, hard look, but there was something else there—something raw and unspoken. “Fine,” he muttered, “but you stick with me, understand?”

Together, they charged, weaving through flames and traps, their powers combining in perfect sync. The rogue mage screamed, thrashing against Zora’s traps and Y/N’s attacks, but he was growing weaker, his flames dimming. But as he fell back, he unleashed a final, massive blast of fire—a desperate move to take them all down with him.

Time seemed to slow as Zora turned to Y/N, eyes fierce and wild. He knew this blast could wipe out everything, and if it came to it, he was ready to shield them, to stand in the flames and keep them safe even if it meant sacrificing himself.

But Y/N met his gaze with a look just as intense. “Together,” they whispered, their hand finding his.

The firestorm hit, but with Zora’s last trap and Y/N’s barrier, they managed to deflect it just enough to survive. When the flames finally died down, Zora was breathing heavily, staring at the charred ground, his hand still gripping Y/N’s tightly.

“I wasn’t kidding, y’know,” he said quietly, his voice barely audible. “I’d let the world burn before I let anything happen to you.”

Y/N squeezed his hand, a small, grateful smile tugging at their lips. “Good thing we’re both a little reckless, then.”

And as the embers faded into the night, they stood together, side by side, knowing that, for each other, they would face any fire, even if it meant watching the world burn.

After the dust had settled and the rogue mage was nothing more than a smoldering memory, Zora and Y/N made their way back to the Black Bulls’ hideout. The journey was quiet, neither of them quite knowing what to say after what had just happened. The intensity of the fight, of Zora’s words, still lingered between them like a charge in the air. It felt like they were walking through sparks, each step building toward something they both felt but hadn’t acknowledged aloud.

By the time they reached the Black Bulls’ base, the rest of the squad was asleep, and the hideout was dark and quiet, save for the occasional flickering candle lighting the hallways. Zora led Y/N to a secluded corner of the base, somewhere away from prying eyes, somewhere only the two of them would go. The adrenaline of the battle was fading, replaced by an even stronger pull between them.

Zora turned to Y/N, the faint candlelight casting shadows across his face, making his usual smirk softer, almost vulnerable. His eyes locked onto theirs, and he reached out, brushing his fingertips over a stray bruise on their cheek from the fight. His hand lingered there, his thumb moving softly along their skin, his gaze intense.

“You really had me worried back there,” he murmured, his voice low, almost a whisper. “I meant what I said, you know…about letting the world burn for you.”

Y/N looked up at him, their breath hitching at the way he was looking at them—so fierce, so raw, as if they were the only thing in the world. Slowly, they reached up, placing their hand over his, feeling the warmth of his skin against theirs.

“Zora…I know,” they replied, their voice equally quiet, as if afraid to break the tension hanging between them.

Without thinking, Zora leaned in, his breath warm against their skin. “You have a way of getting under my skin, you know that?”

Y/N gave a small, teasing smile. “Guess that makes two of us.”

That was all the encouragement he needed. In an instant, Zora closed the distance, his lips capturing theirs in a kiss that was intense and full of unspoken words, a release of everything they’d been holding back. The kiss was fierce, but gentle, his hands finding their way to their waist, pulling them closer, as if he couldn’t bear for even an inch to separate them.

Y/N responded with equal fervor, fingers tangling in his hair as they pressed closer, losing themselves in the moment. They’d never seen Zora like this—vulnerable, open, his usual bravado stripped away, replaced with a genuine need that made their heart race.

💙 saying he's a tad bit jealous and pusisive is an understatement he's scared that you might get close to someone else and just forget about him sometimes just shielding you from the outside world or dragging you away when you're talking to anyone for a long period of time. You had to explain to him so many times that you should never lose affection towards him. It worked a little but he still keeps the habit of watching over you.
