Gleich neben den Taiping Lake Gardens, befindet sich übrigens der Taiping Zoo. Ich habe euch ja schon erzählt, dass Taiping die Stadt der vielen "ersten" ist. Ja, der Taiping Zoo, war der erste Zoo in Malaysia. Er öffnete 1961 seine Tore und ist somit der älteste Zoo Malaysias. . Der Zoo beherbergt über 180 Tierarten und insgesamt um die 1300 Tiere. Hier findet man Amphibien, Säugetiere und Reptilien. Viele der Tiere sind Nachtaktiv und deswegen bietet der Taiping Zoo seinen Besuchern auch eine Nachtsafari an. . Lieder ist der Zoo schon ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen und mancheTiere schauen nicht so glücklich aus. Die Eintrittspreise hier in Malaysia sind sehr niedrig. Der Eintritt für einen Erwachsenen kostet gerade mal ein bisschen über 3€. Uns wäre es lieber, wenn man ein bisschen mehr verlangen würde und sich dafür besser um die Tiere kümmert und den Zoo instand hält. Aber im großen und ganzen, hat uns der Zoo gut gefallen. Finally got to visit Taiping Zoo and I must say it was worth the drive! This is Malaysia’s oldest zoo set in the lush greenery of Taiping Lake Gardens, and I love the fact that enclosures were made with the animals, not visitors in mind. Animals were in good health and for the most part not displaying signs of stress. Highlights of my visit : being able to see a clouded leopard for real, a pack of red dholes with new pups, and Steven, a heavy machinery operator by day and zoo guide volunteer by night, who was clearly very excited about animals and shared just about everything he knew about every animal at the zoo! Orangutan. A species that magically can warm your heart with the very first look into your eyes ♥️ ▫️ The word orangutan derives from #malaysian and #indonesian language meaning „human of the forest“. Makes sense. When I encountered them on my sponsored trip to Northern Malaysia in January this year I felt connected just watching them. I was invited to capture Taiping and surroundings to promote the city with it’s unique Ulutupai Nature Retreat. Although I don’t like Zoos and captivation I have to admit that #Taiping is doing it’s best to provide the most possible authentic environment to all the animals kept there. So hopefully all #animals will have a happy, long and protected life.
