Siren culture in fantasy world part 2: growth of the population

Sirens cannot reproduce "naturally". They still technically have the organs for it, although they're non-functional given they fused with the tail and really wouldn't be recognisable. Therefore the only way for a siren to be "born" is for three criteria to be met

The siren-to-be knows enough about sirens for them to describe them to someone who also knows about sirens. This was vastly more difficult in times of lower siren population and legend, as most did not have the information to start the process.

The siren-to-be needs the desire to become a siren. This became rarer as legends about them spread, because a legend demonising someone or something spreads far more virulently than one glorifying it.

Finally, they must meet with a siren who knows how to get their er "magical girl transformation" sparkle emoji sparkle emoji. This is done by communing with the remnant mind of the mad god and allowing it to change them as it did the first siren. It uses broadly the same template that this same siren based herself on.

Not a lot of people outside of the equatorial island belts want to have a tail and forsake the land for good. This is part of the reason why there are so few sirens with heritage beyond the equator. The other reason is that due to the little contact they had outside this region, the myths about them reached external areas before they did, and by the time they arrived there they were firmly cemented in the oral tradition as cruel waterborne seductresses who would sink your ship, steal your fish and leave you to drown. They were not best welcomed, and few had the desire to become one (and by extension hated by everyone they had called kin). Roughly the population as of the Galania/Elven war ceasefire stands at 90% equatorial heritage and 95% coastal anatomy (the first anatomical structure to develop, there are several others).

wow wow im actually posting something creature wip they're commonly used in northern parts of a world im working on (still have to think of and make a map I procrastinate a lot) as a form of transportation. I still have to think about a bunch of stuff but as of now they're bipedal and have large amounts of feathers near their feet and hands, and on their tail (which can "flare"(?)). Their hands are like talons ( I'm unsure about the amount of fingers) and their hind legs will be something similar to hoof-like bird feet. I was thinking of giving them 4 eyes but I might move it back to two just for a lack of reasoning behind having 4. I'm still deciding on their mouths and all of the features of the head but I definietly want to add more most likely a horn or a hard covering on it (but I would also need to think of a reasoning behind it which as of now I can't think of a decent one). The thing on their neck is probably going to be like a dewlap on lizards. I think they're going to be omnivores which feed off of roughly anything in captivity but in the wild on bugs and plants. ( all of this is unfinished and I still have to work on it and it'll probably change ) Im not super good at worldbuilding or spec bio/zoolgy (or maybe im just being a perfectionist I don't know) It's very late now so goodbye also I can't tag I apologise.

bang mau tanya, saya kan kuliah salah satu ptn, kebetulan jurusan biologi murni. tiap praktikum yang zoolgi, bahannya kan selalu hewan2 tu bang, jdang cuma pengamatan taksonominya, kadsng pengamatan anatominya, tu mesti dibelah tiap hewan yg diamatin bagian dalam. bunuh hewan ciptaan Allah kan dosa kan ga bang. menurut abg yang apakah selama 3 smester ini saya berdosa udah praktikum belah2 hewan gitu bang?

Tapi saya nggak tahu hukum. Apalagi masalah dosa engga. Mungkin bisa tanya ustadz yang bidang nya ushul fiqih. Atau ustadz lain yang kuliah nya jrusan agama.
