Following ur Goretober - headache it has given me the idea, headcanon? Thought? That Tord presents as human and everything until he has an injury or illness that SHOULD have killed him but he lives. Following a kind of twist of a zombie that he can't and doesn't reheal at all, he has this injury and it doesn't get better so in a sense, his body and cells are dead but he isn't, he just doesn't know until something happens~

Also I am not a writer but here goes

Example: The bullet through his head should have ended him but here he was, in a flurry of pain and laying in a splatter of his own blood, skin and brain matter. He couldn't think, he shouldn't be able to think but still he found one whisper of a realisation come to mind (or what was left of it), 'I should be dead-'

Months had passed, he'd say he was back to normal but considering the gaping hole in his skull that refused to heal Tord didn't think he would be normal again. The cells were dead they said, they had no idea how he was alive they said, his body wasn't actively decaying but he wasn't regenerating and his body wasn't fixing itself. Every cut, every broken bone, every gaping wound was just there. He found himself simply stitching what cuts and wounds he could together.

Zombie sounded too monstrous, but the more he thought about it the more he found himself coming back to that thought

i've downloaded zombies run & i'm three missions in & enjoying it so far, but it's also so Tragically and Hilariously clear how much this story was written in 2012. and how it was also less interested in subverting genre expectations than making you move your body (very fair!! given that that's what the game is designed for!!)

the two most egregious things in these first three eps are:

1. i was paired for a run with a coughing woman who insists she "just has a bad chest cold," and even though the camp supervisor firmly establishes that coughing is THE FIRST SYMPTOM of an infection, i'm instructed to go out running alone in the wilds with this lady. who's coughing. so much.

she keeps being like "it's just a cold 💕" while refusing to let anyone examine her and i'm like. YOU GUYS DONT HAVE QUARANTINE PROCEDURES?? PUT HER ASS SOMEWHERE AWAY FROM THE REST OF US?? DUDE??

2. it's then established that everyone at the camp is suspicious of me because other camps nearby have been torched after being visited by shady-ass secret-keepers very similar to myself. but i'm still allowed to roam around and do supply runs like it's nothing. the NPCs just mutter mutinously about me and make allusions to how i'm gonna get everyone killed.

PUT MY ASS IN QUARANTINE?!?!? DON'T LET ME LEAVE WITHOUT ANSWERING QUESTIONS??? WHAT???? YOU GUYS HAVE GOT TO GET A GRIP?!?!?!

the lack of quarantine, safety, and hardass procedures would be excusable if this was a hippie commune or solarpunk future or whatever, but it is Not. this is an AMC's walking dead style deal where the only people more dangerous than the zombies are the non-zombies.

so i'm like.

YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE LAST RUGGED BASTION OF HUMANITY. WHAT ARE YOU DOIIINGGG.....

Along his jugular. Steve has lived a very dangerous life so touches around his neck get immediate reactions. He even has to tie his own ties, and even his tailor has to let Steve measure his own neck. No one else can do it because he can't let anyone so close to such a vulnerable spot.

So when Hummingbird lays a gentle kiss there it activates his nervous system. A kiss along his neck is such a foreign feeling to him but it provokes an immediate response and heightens his adrenaline. It takes some time but he starts associating her kiss on his neck with safety. They've learned that the best way for her to tell him he's safe, he's okay, he's home, is to kiss his neck, near the jugular.

Y’all subverting our expectations is one of Treyarch’s favorite storytelling tropes. Other than times that the MWZ storyline has been VERY specific about events that happened (such as Grey and Maxis both being Ava Jansen’s Moms) I’m not really gonna make any concrete assumptions about what will or won’t happen in the next Black Ops game (other than VERY grain-of-salt theorizing).

Making this post because I’ve seen complaints about MWZ “spoiling” things for the next Black Ops game (such as the deaths of the Requiem Crew and Samantha Maxis’ lack of any known whereabouts) and I’m just like. There is an entire game’s worth of context missing every time MWZ talks about the DA storyline and I think we should all just remember that.

Misleading the audience on the DA storyline because we all tried to fill in the gaps ourselves using knowledge from CW and MWZ sounds like an VERY Treyarch-like thing to do.
