So I'm almost at the end of The Gilded Wolves and I only want to talk about one person right now.

Zofia Boguska.

I know to a lot of people, it's not huge, but SHES JEWISH! And it's not just a one off thing! She talks about tattoo prohibition, and gematria, and most importantly the anti-semitism she faces in France and how uncomfortable she is posing as russian during a time when Russia had less than no love for Jews. She's Jewish and it's ACTIVELY a part of her experiences in the world. It shapes her. Sure, she may not be talking about her Judaism in a religious sense, but as a Jew, I can see that she still values her Judaism, she's still proud of who she is, even if it causes her pain in the world. I don't get a chance to see my identity reflected in the books I read much. It's usually all holocaust books or one off characters who only celebrate Chanukah (one of the LEAST important of the major holidays in jewish culture). So it's so amazing to see someone really, truly, like me.

Ps: This is my comfort character now, no one try to change my mind.
