NBA 2K25: The 5 Best Teams for Point Guards to Join
In basketball, the point guard (PG) position is often seen as the most pivotal role on the court. A point guard is responsible for controlling the flow of the NBA 2K25 MT game, distributing the ball, and ensuring the offense runs smoothly. In NBA 2K25, the importance of the point guard position is reflected in the way players can customize and elevate their PGs in MyCareer.
Choosing the right team can make a significant difference in your point guard’s career trajectory. Whether you’re looking to become a star or help a team reach the next level, the team you select in NBA 2K25 will have a lasting impact on your path to success. While there are numerous teams to consider, this article will focus on the top five teams that provide the best opportunities for point guards to shine. These teams are well-suited for a PG to thrive, whether it’s due to roster needs, playing time, or the surrounding talent.
Chicago Bulls The Chicago Bulls are currently in a bit of a rebuilding phase, but that also means they offer one of the most appealing opportunities for a point guard to step into a prominent role. Historically, the Bulls have been home to great point guards like Derrick Rose, but recent seasons have seen the team struggle to find a consistent playmaker.
Why the Bulls Are a Great Fit for a Point Guard:
Lonzo Ball's Absence: The Chicago Bulls were once in a solid position with Lonzo Ball at the point guard spot, but his knee injuries have kept him sidelined for much of the past few seasons. This leaves a significant hole in the team’s backcourt. As a result, there is plenty of playing time available for a point guard to step in and lead the offense. Alleviating Zach LaVine’s Pressure: The pressure on Zach LaVine to be both a scorer and a ball handler has been immense. A true point guard would not only help take some of that load off LaVine but also allow him to focus more on his scoring role, which is where he thrives. This dynamic can create a great opportunity for a point guard to make an immediate impact and help elevate the team’s performance. Playing Time: The absence of a reliable point guard means that a new player at this position could quickly earn a starting role. With the team looking to rebuild, it’s a perfect scenario for someone to step in and take control.
New Orleans Pelicans The New Orleans Pelicans are a team with massive potential, particularly thanks to the all-around talent of Zion Williamson. However, the team has faced challenges in terms of playmaking and overall offensive cohesion. CJ McCollum has played as the primary ball handler, but he’s more suited to the shooting guard position. This opens the door for a new point guard to come in and make a difference.
Why the Pelicans Are a Great Fit for a Point Guard:
Shift in Roles for McCollum: With McCollum being more of a shooting guard than a true point guard, adding a fresh face at the PG position would allow the team to optimize its roster. A new point guard could come in and run the offense, with McCollum returning to his natural shooting guard role, creating a more balanced backcourt. Zion Williamson's Presence: Zion is one of the most dynamic and powerful forwards in the game. Having a point guard who can facilitate the offense and get Zion the ball in the right spots would be a game-changer. The Pelicans’ offense could flourish with a PG who can not only score but also generate easy scoring opportunities for Zion. Potential Contenders: With the right strategies in place, the Pelicans have the potential to contend in the Western Conference. A point guard who can elevate the team’s playmaking and defensive efficiency would push the Pelicans into playoff contention, making it an exciting destination for a MyCareer PG.
Phoenix Suns The Phoenix Suns are one of the most talented teams in the league, boasting players like Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. However, since the departure of Chris Paul, the team has struggled to find a reliable point guard to orchestrate the offense. With three of the NBA’s top scorers in Durant, Booker, and Deandre Ayton, the Suns are only one piece away from truly contending for an NBA championship. A strong point guard would be that missing piece.
Why the Suns Are a Great Fit for a Point Guard:
Star-Studded Roster: The Suns’ roster is loaded with talent, but a true point guard is needed to help tie it all together. Durant and Booker are elite scorers, but they are best when they don’t have to focus on ball handling and creating opportunities. A point guard who can run the offense would allow them to focus on scoring and defense, taking the Suns to the next level. Opportunity to Start: Despite the team’s star power, the point guard position is a glaring weakness. A player who excels at facilitating and scoring could quickly earn a starting spot and make a significant impact on both ends of the floor. Open Space for Passing: With shooters like Booker and Durant spacing the floor, a point guard would have plenty of opportunities to create scoring chances. A PG who can break down defenses and find open teammates will thrive in this system.
San Antonio Spurs The San Antonio Spurs are in the midst of an exciting transition, led by the phenom Victor Wembanyama. While the addition of Chris Paul in the offseason was a notable move, the veteran point guard is nearing the end of his career. This creates an opportunity for a young, dynamic point guard to step in and lead the team into the future.
Why the Spurs Are a Great Fit for a Point Guard:
Victor Wembanyama's Presence: Wembanyama is a once-in-a-generation talent who can dominate both ends of the floor. A point guard who can set him up and unlock his full potential would be invaluable to the team. With Wembanyama protecting the rim and creating mismatches on offense, a point guard would have plenty of opportunities to dish out assists and score efficiently. Replacing Chris Paul: While Chris Paul is a future Hall of Famer, he’s no longer the player he once was. The Spurs need a new point guard to take over and continue to build around Wembanyama. This provides a perfect opportunity for a MyCareer player to step in, take over the offense, and potentially become the team’s new leader. Strong Coaching and System: The Spurs are known for their disciplined system and excellent coaching staff. A point guard in San Antonio would have the chance to develop their skills in an organized, team-oriented environment.
Utah Jazz The Utah Jazz are a team in flux, but they have a promising young star in Lauri Markkanen. Since the departure of Mike Conley, the Jazz have struggled to find a consistent point guard to run the offense. This makes the Jazz one of the most appealing teams for a point guard in NBA 2K25.
Why the Jazz Are a Great Fit for a Point Guard:
Lauri Markkanen Needs a Playmaker: Markkanen has shown great potential as a scorer, but he needs a point guard who can facilitate the offense and create easy opportunities for him. A playmaker who can get Markkanen open shots and get him involved in the offense would help the Jazz become a more potent team. Consistent PG Play Needed: Since Conley’s departure, the Jazz have lacked a true point guard to stabilize the offense. This opens the door for a MyCareer player to step in and earn a starting role with relative ease. The opportunity for consistent playing time and a leadership role is there for the taking. Rebuilding and Opportunity: The Jazz are in a rebuilding phase, which means there are fewer established stars taking up playing time. A point guard who can prove themselves early on could quickly become the face of the franchise and build a legacy in Utah. Conclusion Choosing the right team for your point guard in NBA 2K25 is crucial for advancing in MyCareer. Each of the five teams mentioned—Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, Phoenix Suns, San Antonio Spurs, and Utah Jazz—offers unique advantages that make them ideal for a point guard looking to make a significant impact. Whether it’s a need for leadership, playmaking, or the opportunity to play alongside superstar talent, these teams provide the best environments for a point guard to thrive. By selecting one of these teams, you can ensure that your journey to Buy 2K25 MT stardom is both exciting and rewarding.

NBA 2K23 announced today that DeMar DeRozan will check in at 89
I'll be honest, year after year I'm concerned far too much about the things this sport has to speak NBA 2K Coins, however we also shouldn't deny that it provides the public with a solid idea about how players are seen ahead of the start of a new year. You can imagine it being a massive power ranking for nearly all players that is in the league. It's one which actually gives the Bulls team some respect this year.
NBA 2K23 announced today that DeMar DeRozan will check in at 89 overall while Zach LaVine will enter the season set at 88. The ranking is a pretty significant bump for DeRozan after his last season when he was ranked only 85. In the case of LaVine however, he moves just one slot up in comparison to NBA 2K22's 87. While I believe they both deserve to reach the 90s' threshold A score of 88 or an 89 would put the players in pretty good company.
For example, DeRozan is placed ahead of Rudy Gobert and just two places ahead of Devin Booker. LaVine's rank is higher than that of players like Zion Williamson and Jaylen Brown. One aspect that DeRozan also has at his disposal is a top spot on the dunking charts. LaVine's score of 95 places him behind just Ja Morant , and Zion Williamson as one of most feared slammers of the league.
The rest of the Bulls' roster has yet to be confirmed, however 2KRatings has an unofficial list worth a look. In between DeRozan and LaVine - to no surprise there is an 83 overall Nikola Vucevic, followed by Lonzo Ball who has an 82 and Andre Drummond with a somewhat shocking 81.
The most sobering ranking comes in the case of the player with most likely the highest expectations. In the moment Buy 2K23 MT, Patrick Williams is only listed at a 74, which places him alongside Goran Dragic and Derrick Jones Jr. yet puts him behind. . . toNY BRADLEY! ?

Lonzo and Zion have been showing that they are only there to make each other better. The third-year and the rookie have established a chemistry that hasn't been seen around the league in a very long time. Their games are tailored to one another. An unselfish Lonzo Ball will do anything in his power to find the open space for Zion to score.

NBA 2K25: Best Teams for Point Guards to Thrive In - Top 5 Picks The Point Guard (PG) position is often considered the "floor general" of a basketball team. In NBA 2K25, just like in real-life basketball, the PG role is critical for orchestrating the offense, facilitating plays, and making crucial decisions in fast-paced situations. A Point Guard is responsible for bringing the ball up the court, setting up the NBA 2K25 MT offense, and ensuring that the team executes its game plan effectively.
In NBA 2K25, the freedom to customize your player in MyCareer mode allows you to choose the team that best suits your style of play and the type of role you want to assume on the court. But with so many teams to choose from, how do you determine which one is the best fit for your Point Guard? It’s important to select a team where your skills as a PG will be valued, where you can earn significant playtime, and where the team's existing structure can complement your strengths.
In this article, we’ll discuss the top 5 teams in NBA 2K25 that offer the best opportunities for Point Guards to thrive. Whether you're looking for a team with a need for leadership at the point guard position, a squad with a strong offensive core to distribute to, or a place where you can quickly step into a starting role, these teams offer all that and more.
Chicago Bulls – A Team in Need of a True Point Guard While the Chicago Bulls have struggled in recent seasons, they still feature one of the league's most dynamic players in Zach LaVine. The Bulls are in need of a true floor general to complement LaVine’s scoring ability and unlock the potential of the team's offense.
Currently, the Bulls’ point guard position is in flux, especially with the absence of Lonzo Ball, who was once expected to be the team's long-term PG solution. Ball's knee injuries have sidelined him for an extended period, leaving the Bulls without a solid playmaker to orchestrate the offense. In NBA 2K25, this situation provides a perfect opportunity for a player to step in and become the centerpiece of the offense.
As a Point Guard on the Chicago Bulls, your role would be to alleviate the pressure off LaVine by running the offense and facilitating the ball to key scorers like DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic. With plenty of playing time available and a need for leadership, you can quickly earn the respect of your teammates and take on a critical role in the team’s future success.
Key Advantage: High playing time and opportunity to be the starting Point Guard. Strong scoring options (LaVine, DeRozan) that you can feed the ball to. A need for leadership and a true floor general to guide the team.
New Orleans Pelicans – A Team on the Rise with Zion and Ingram The New Orleans Pelicans are an intriguing team with significant potential, particularly thanks to the star power of Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram. However, the Pelicans' offense has been hampered in recent seasons by a lack of a true Point Guard to run the floor and set up plays.
In the past, CJ McCollum has filled in at the PG position for the Pelicans, but McCollum is naturally a shooting guard and doesn't quite fit the playmaking mold that the team needs. This leaves the door open for a talented Point Guard to step in and make an immediate impact.
With a Point Guard leading the charge, the Pelicans would have the opportunity to create easy scoring chances for both Zion (who thrives on lob passes and alley-oops) and Ingram (a versatile scorer). New Orleans has the pieces in place to be a true contender, but they need a Point Guard who can help them take the next step.
As a Point Guard on the Pelicans, you would be tasked with facilitating the offense, making quick decisions, and getting the ball to your playmakers in the right spots. This team offers a solid balance of veteran presence and young talent, making it an excellent environment for a rising Point Guard to make an impact.
Key Advantage: A high-scoring offense with players like Zion and Ingram who thrive with great passing. Opportunity to step into a starting role and potentially lead a team with playoff aspirations. A need for a true PG to maximize the team's potential.
Phoenix Suns – A Championship Contender with a Missing Piece The Phoenix Suns are one of the most well-rounded teams in NBA 2K25, boasting a stellar lineup led by Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Deandre Ayton. However, since the departure of Chris Paul, the Suns have been without a true Point Guard to lead the offense.
Booker is an excellent scorer and playmaker, but his best role is as a Shooting Guard, not as a primary ball handler. The Suns are arguably one piece away from truly contending for an NBA championship, and that missing piece is a skilled Point Guard who can distribute the ball and create opportunities for the rest of the offense.
With Kevin Durant and Devin Booker as the main scoring threats, a strong PG could quickly earn a starting spot by proving their ability to create plays for the team. A Point Guard who can run the offense, facilitate ball movement, and hit open shots would fit perfectly into the Suns’ system and give them the chance to return to the championship stage.
Key Advantage: A championship-contending team with elite scorers in Durant and Booker. Opportunity to fill a critical gap at the PG position and play alongside superstars. A system that maximizes shooting and spacing, ideal for a PG to distribute the ball.
San Antonio Spurs – A Team Rebuilding Around Wembanyama The San Antonio Spurs are entering a new era with the arrival of Victor Wembanyama, one of the most hyped prospects in NBA history. With Wembanyama taking control of the paint, the Spurs are in need of a Point Guard to facilitate their offense and help the team navigate their rebuilding process.
The Spurs have signed Chris Paul in the offseason, but Paul’s age and declining athleticism may limit his ability to be the long-term solution at Point Guard. For a young, talented PG entering the league, the Spurs represent an excellent opportunity to step into a starting role.
In this scenario, your job as the PG would be to set up the offense, especially with Wembanyama controlling the paint, and help him develop into the player the Spurs hope he will become. With the right leadership, the Spurs could quickly return to being a playoff team, and a young PG would be at the center of that transformation.
Key Advantage: Opportunity to play alongside Victor Wembanyama, a future superstar. A rebuilding team with plenty of playing time and leadership opportunities. The chance to take over as the team’s starting Point Guard sooner rather than later.
Utah Jazz – The Perfect Fit for a New Point Guard The Utah Jazz are currently in the midst of a transition, with their core being built around Lauri Markkanen, the reigning NBA Most Improved Player. While Markkanen has proven to be a star, the Jazz have struggled to find consistent playmaking at the Point Guard position since Mike Conley’s departure.
With Conley no longer on the team, the Jazz have a clear need for a Point Guard to take over the offense and complement Markkanen’s scoring ability. Utah’s roster is filled with young, talented players, including Collin Sexton and Walker Kessler, but they lack a true floor general to help bring everything together.
For a Point Guard in NBA 2K25, the Utah Jazz offer a clear path to a starting role and a chance to become the focal point of the offense. You would be tasked with setting up the offense for Markkanen, getting him open for outside shots, and helping the team to score efficiently. The Jazz are not a championship contender just yet, but with the right Point Guard leading the way, they could make a jump into playoff contention in the coming seasons.
Key Advantage: A clear path to the starting Point Guard role with no established PG. Opportunity to play alongside Lauri Markkanen and other young stars. A team in need of leadership and a true playmaker to help develop their young core. Conclusion Choosing the right team for your Point Guard in NBA 2K25 can significantly impact your MyCareer journey. Whether you're looking to lead a team like the Chicago Bulls or San Antonio Spurs, or contribute to a team on the rise like the Utah Jazz or New Orleans Pelicans, these teams offer unique opportunities for Point Guards to thrive. By assessing the team’s needs, current roster, and your own strengths as a player, you can find the best fit and start your career with confidence.
As you embark on your NBA 2K25 MyCareer journey, these five teams provide the Buy MT NBA 2K25 ideal environment for a talented and ambitious Point Guard. Choose wisely, and make your mark on the court!

NBA Thoughts - Pelicans Focus
Reasons why the New Orleans pelicans will be the most exciting team to watch in the history of the league.
1. The back-court duo of Lonzo and Jrue. They will be the best defending back-court in the league. Lonzo is sensational in transition, and will pick up full court in situations and get easy steals. Lonzo has had troubles finishing at the hoop in the early part of his career and was about as bad as Justice Winslow was. However, Rondo started helping Lonzo work on his finishing and you could tell a noticeable difference in Lonzo’s finishing, instead of miss after miss. Jrue had a career year last year in 67 games averaging 21.2 pts, 7.7 ast, 5 reb and shooting 47.2% from the floor. Jrue will be a great copilot next to Zo.
2. Zion Williamson - nothing really needs to be said here as he is one of the most exciting players basketball fans have ever seen. The way he can move at the size he possesses has never been seen before. He is coming in to the NBA as the 2nd heaviest player only to the newest assassin in John Wick, Boban Marjanovic. The only worry people have with Zion is his outside shooting and potential injury risk with moving such a large amount of weight and playing the way he does.
3. Brandon Ingram and his crazy length. Brandon Ingram has been continually getting better on the defensive side of the ball since he entered the league and last season he was off the charts on defense. The Lakers as a team were very bad on defense but individually Ingram and Lonzo were superb defenders. BI started showing signs of becoming an explosive scorer the last month and a half before his season was ended with blood clots. If he can pick up from where he left off, the Pelicans should be in very good shape.
4. Youth and Pace - This team has athletes all over it, especially with adding Jaxson Hayes at the center position. They will be so explosive and the youth on the team will allow them to just run run run. The potential is off the charts with this team and they have a good chance of making the playoffs in a crowded western conference next year as long as they stay healthy. The bench is also going to be very young, which will help with the pace of play as well. One question I have is how slow footed Jahlil Okafor will fit into this team. I have seen the reports saying he has been working very hard this off-season, but everyone is working hard in the off-season, except Dion Waiters and Raymond Felton who are working hard in the buffet.
Let me know what questions you have or if you want me to elaborate more on anything to do with the Pelicans or the whole NBA.
