Why does steel need to be galvanized? What is the price of galvanized steel?
Why does steel need to be galvanized?
Hot-dip galvanized steel is a composite of steel and zinc that combines the advantages of both materials, including the strength and plasticity of steel and a corrosion-resistant coating, and is widely used in industries such as construction, appliances, and automobiles.
The main process of hot-dip galvanizing: Hot-dip galvanizing refers to the relatively large difference between the melting points of steel and zinc. We know that the melting temperature of pure iron is 1534 degrees and the melting point of zinc is only 419 degrees. The strip steel thus treated can be directly dipped into the molten zinc for galvanizing.
After annealing the strip enters the zinc pot and up to this point, the galvanized strip leaves the pot under the isolation of air. We can see an air knife to control the thickness of the zinc layer and then we can see four small red holes. This is where the strip should be reheated to obtain a 7-15% iron content in the coating if an alloyed product is produced, this is the alloyed product and the subsequent step is cooling.
Hot-dip galvanized steel sheet has an attractive surface, good corrosion resistance, and good processing properties.
Galvanized steel sheets have two types of appearance, one with normal zinc bloom and one without zinc bloom. In the past, because the lead in the zinc solution could not be refined very pure, there would always be some zinc bloom on the surface of the hot-dip galvanized steel sheet, so our old idea was that there was zinc bloom in the hot-dip galvanized product. With the demand of the automotive industry, if the hot-dip galvanized automotive sheet was required to be painted, the zinc bloom would have an effect on the painting. Later, by reducing the lead content in zinc ingots and liquids to a concentration of a few tens of ppm, we were able to produce products with no or very little zinc bloom. For special applications, such as buildings that still prefer large zinc blooms, we can obtain large and beautiful zinc blooms by adding elements such as lead or antimony to the zinc solution.
Today, galvanized cold-rolled sheet and galvanized sheet prices in northern China fell by about USD3 per ton and USD1.4 per ton respectively; 1.2mm cold-rolled sheet prices were USD589 per ton and 1.0mm galvanized sheet prices were USD638 per ton. Today's galvanized steel market is not very volatile and is relatively stable, with falling prices dominating the market. It is reported that the current market transaction environment is neither cold nor hot more usual, as the Chinese New Year is approaching, most downstream industries' demand is also gradually reduced, now the epidemic is also more serious in the surrounding cities of Liaocheng, the market sentiment is still cautious wait-and-see.

ERP for Metals Industry
There is a growing awareness of the need for enterprise resource planning (ERP) for the metals and minerals industries. This is because the industries are increasingly dealing with complex and large volumes of data, which needs to be managed in a secure and reliable way. ERP for Metals Industry can help to streamline operations and make it easier for companies to monitor their performance. They can also help to improve efficiency and coordination across the whole supply chain.
The metals and minerals business has a significant economic value. Mined metals and minerals are sold at high market prices, and there is a huge demand for them. Copper, aluminum, steel, and zinc are base metals that are utilized in a variety of sectors, including building, manufacturing, and technology. Copper and steel are in high demand since they are widely used in manufacturing. Metal trade, metal production, and metal investment are all common activities in the metal industry. Metals are mined as market demand increases over time.ERP for Metals Industry is an investment for several metal trade enterprises.
Since its inception 35 years ago, Lighthouse ERP software has been continually changing to meet the needs of today's industries. Mining is used to obtain a variety of valuable commodities, including metals, minerals, and oil.
Calcined Coke & Met Coke Metallurgical coal is a form of coal used in the metallurgical industry. It's a black or brownish-black coal with a high iron and manganese content.
Logistics & Coal Washer Before coal is utilised in power plants, it is cleaned and stored in a coal washery. Workers at the coal washery load coal into trucks and transport it to various areas of the facility.
Plants That Produce Energy A power plant is a mechanism that generates energy by turning a collection of moving parts using electricity.
Cement Cement is a type of construction material that is made up of tiny pebbles combined with a binder. When the cement is poured, it hardens and sets rapidly.
Manufacturing and refining of lead The process of extracting lead from ore and turning it into pellets or ingots is known as lead production and refining.
Aluminum Profiles & Extrusion Aluminum extrusion and profiles are used to make goods ranging from lightweight to extremely heavy-duty. Extrusion, for example, may produce complicated profiles for shells, aeroplane components, vehicle bodywork, and a variety of other goods.
Casting and Aluminum Alloys The process of casting a material from an alloy of two or more metals is known as aluminum alloys and casting.
Manufacturing of refractories Refractories Manufacturing is a discipline that employs technology to create materials for things like furnaces, ovens, and kilns.

Architecture’s Afterlife
PHASE 1 : COPPER’S FLOW
Shiny, reddish copper was the first metal manipulated by humans, and it remains an important metal in industry today.
This video will clearly show the flow of copper.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1MId_7RnXHysDKn9utAatrRjigng7W3Jk
Extraction [VIDEO]
The copper is extracted from the earth in an extensive process that turn rocky copper ore into pure copper. The copper ore is put in various processes that refine and purify it. The copper is crushed to bring the minerals down into a workable size. Next the copper goes to a smelting process which uses heat and chemical reaction to extract the copper from the ore. And these are the chemical reactions that happen in the smelting process. After that pure copper is formed from a copper cathode and rod.
Processing [VIDEO]
These are a company which is located in most of the countries that can process metal including copper into different form. The process of making wire, cable, and sheet are similar. All the wire, cable, and sheet products are made of copper. This product is used to transmit the electrical energy. Some general cable plants have rod breakdown machine, where copper rod is break down in size for the next step in the manufacture process. Other cable plant purchase the copper in size they want to begin their wire making process.
Brass can also be formed with a combination of copper and zinc. Brass are commonly used for decoration because of its gold-like appearance .Brass is often used in situations in which it not near flammable or explosive materials.
Bronze also formed with a combination of copper and tin. These additions produce a range of alloys that may be harder than copper alone, or have other useful properties, such as stiffness, ductility, or machinability.
There are also a waste that left over from the copper smelting process which called copper slag. This material has a similar property to a sand grit and can be used to mix with concrete as an admixture to form a concrete block and can be used as a road construction material, insulating in house, and drainage system.
Transportation
There are so many choices of transportation for copper depends on it state. For example, Copper ore are transported from a mine to an ore crusher factory by this mining ore haul truck. And after its crushed it will be transported by ship to the processing factory. After we got a pure copper product it will be transported to the site or a store by a truck.
Right now Copper in Thailand have been imported from Letpadaung Copper Mine, Myanmar by a truck to a smelter factory in Thailand.
Construction & Installation [VIDEO]
This is the construction process of how the processed copper sheet have been installed as a roof.
Maintenance
Copper is a material which resists corrosion. So it doesn't need maintenance. For example, This Statue of Liberty is made from copper which faced the rain and sunlight. So, it gets rusted but it doesn’t lose it quality.
Demolition
Copper is an element which will be removed before demolish a building because of its price and it can be used to recycle. Copper is commonly found in an electrical wire, water pipes, electronics, door knob, and others.
Recycling [VIDEO]
This is the old copper pipe from a plumbing system which is going to be recycled by melting it down. So, After the copper are melted. Its was poured into a block to form an ingot then he use a rolling mill to transform it shape into a copper rod.
And this one show how the copper pipe transform into a sheet.
So,This recycle process displayed both ideas of processing copper into a new form and how to recycle the copper.
PHASE 2 : NON - STANDARD PRACTICES
Nowadays 50% of a copper product come from recycle process which use 40% of energy for a new one. So, In this phase I would like to propose an idea to recycle copper product without casting it and remake it again which is going to reduce a lot of energy usage and also an energy for transportation.
This a copper element which is basically found in our daily life. And each form of it can be transformed by heat and bend it. For example, Copper sheet could be heat up and fold. Copper wire and rod are able to bend. Copper pipe can be used to bend or cut and turn into copper sheet. And these are the list of product and form which copper can be transformed into.
On the bottom is the pattern which I think it might be good to create a strength and be a structure for a copper sheet itself. The process of making this pattern is to stamp on the sheet which is the same process of making a coin texture and a ceiling panel.
The last atmospheric drawing represents how the copper sheet which past through the recycle process going to attach to the building as a facade.

Plated Coins on the Rise
Canada recently released a commemorative 2019 $100 gold wildlife conservation coin on which a portrait of a lion by Robert Bateman appears on the reverse. The coin is struck in proof, has a diameter of 76.2 mm and a weight of 311.5 g. This follows a Canadian 2019 gold-plated silver $8 Pandas, A Golden Gift of Friendship coin. What makes these coins different from so many other non-circulating legal tender coins is that each is actually a 0.999 fine silver coin with a thin layer of gold plating.

Canada is going one step further than most other nations by offering plated coins to collectors. The Canadian coins include the framed letter P below the obverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II to identify the coins’ true metal content.
Plated coins are not something new, but they are becoming increasingly more mainstream, some at prices at which coins of pure gold or pure silver used to be offered.
How far back do plated coins go? It depends on what you define as a plated coin. Precious metal content coins have been debased by governments almost since the time of the invention of the coin. Sometimes this has been out of economic necessity. Other times it may have been a convenience to the issuing authority.
At the time of the Roman Empire silver fourrée copies of the then circulating silver denarii and drachma coins existed. The fourrée was usually a base metal counterfeit plated with silver to look real. The praetor M. Marius Gratidianus developed a way to detect these fourrée before 80 BCE. This was later replaced with serrated edge coins similar to those today on which a reeded edge appears.
The fourrée doesn’t end there. What about our Lincoln cents beginning in 1982? Rather than having a sandwich composition of metals as do the pre-1982 issues the coin contains zinc plated with copper. Likewise, the 1-, 2-, and 5-cent euro coins are copper-coated steel fourrées.
Plated coins are a form of debasement, but they are not the same as a coin of lower precious metal content than of a previous issue. Canada’s 1976 $100 Olympic Games coin was issued both in 0.916 pure and 0.583 pure gold, the difference able to be detected by a minor difference in their weights and diameters. This is a debasement. Had the coins circulated the lower purity coin could have been used deceptively.
But what about the Japanese nishu gin of 1832 to 1858? These ingot-shaped coins appear to be gold but are primarily made of silver.
Don’t forget the US racketeer nickel made by gold plating an 1883 No Cents Liberty 5-cent coin, then attempting to pass it as a 0.900 fine gold composition $5 half eagle. Today gold-plated Statehood quarters occasionally appear in circulation. These are copper-nickel sandwich composition coins plated with gold by such private enterprises as the Merrick Mint. (The Merrick Mint does not plate quarters with the intent of the quarters being used deceptively.)
Coins that were legally plated, typically in gold, are becoming more commonplace. According to the privately owned Mauquov Token Company NV, “In general, gold- and silver-plated coins are used for collectible coin purposes, limited editions, and other exclusive markets. Gold- and silver-plated coins look similar to solid gold and silver coins, but they can be offered at a fraction of the price.”
Even the modern concept of plated coins has been around for some time. In 2006 buying-gold.goldprice.org posted, “There are many gold plated coins available to collect, some from mints such as the Perth Mint and Royal Australian Mint, the British Royal Mint, and other lesser known mints. A good example is the gold-plated silver coin pendant produced by the Perth Mint, Australia. This is a 24 carat gold plated 99.9 percent pure silver…there are 12 of these, each representing a different sign of the Zodiac.”
So if plated coins made for collectors are not new, but on the rise why should this raise eyebrows? Do the math. If the Canadian 2019 gold-plated silver $8 Pandas, A Golden Gift of Friendship coin contains 7.96 grams of silver (0.256 ounces actual silver weight) this isn’t exactly a bargain at $40. Where will prices go from here?
