A Basque shepherd dog in Ziga (Nafarroa).

This dog breed is autoctonous to EH and sadly endangered: there are less than 1,000 of them. This number has been growing these last years, however, so there's hope we won't lose it.

These dogs are very smart, hard workers, and eager to please, historically known for having taken care of flocks, herds of horses and cows, and even gaggles. They are also fit to be a family dog, flat-friendly due to their medium size.

So if you're looking for a puppy and can find one of our beloved shepherd dogs, give them a chance and help take their breed out of danger!
