Chapter・1
Below the blue sky where the birds continuously flaps their wings, there are countless islands as if floating.
On the islands dotted with colourful and abounding castle structures, is another vast expanse of land that cannot not be seen even if one was to jump up to the point where the sky disappeared.
That is the Kiedrmani continent.
In a land where a hundred countries are interconnected side by side, the mysterious power of magic has taken root in each country, each with its own culture.
Just like whether the world is round or flat, there are many things that have yet to be proven.
In the center of the continent, in a place called “The Three Light Area” composed of countries in which three seasons flow, there is a kingdom called Doran. A kingdom covered with forests all along its borders and is rich in nature and blooming flowers.
The ruling king, Zerolight Bal Doran.
He is an intelligent and wise king, well supported by his people. Even after the crisis of the world and the kingdom had passed, the fact that he actively engaged in rebuilding the country and in maintaining the relations with other countries further boosted his popularity.
The vassals, those who help the king's government, knights who serve as his hands and feet, and the people who run the logistics in the economy.
In this country where people from all walks of life work, there is no one who isn't aware of the profession of mage, a position that would be second only to that of a knight in this country and world.
Their main job is to exterminate the demons that appear in the country, take on jobs that cannot be relied on by knights or ones ordinary people are unable to do, and to diffuse the root of any problems the people are troubled with—of course, it's a work that makes profit, so it's not a form of charity—the mages are warriors who can be relied upon to destroy the demons that plague the people.
Everyday, there are multitudes of people in need of their help; however, the numbers are often so overflowing, that except a few, most of the people are at a loss as to where to go or whom to ask.
For such people, the place that acts as an intermediary is the "Harré's Sorcerer’s Guild". An establishment in the Kingdom of Doran which receives consultations from the citizens and introduces these as jobs to mages.

Qualcomm and ZeroLight debut end-to-end 5G Boundless XR system
There were plenty of questions left unanswered when Qualcomm announced its 5G-ready Snapdragon XR2 mixed reality chipset last December, including the timetable for actual headsets containing both the core XR2 chip and its optional 5G module. Today, Qualcomm and ZeroLight are announcing a complete end-to-end solution that will use the XR2 and 5G for Boundless XR in enterprise settings.
The broad premise of “Boundless XR” is to replace the wires typically needed for mixed reality headsets with high-bandwidth wireless connections, giving the lightweight, low-power headset access to the photorealistic rendering power of a 300-Watt computer. While a somewhat obscure flavor of Wi-Fi known as WiGig or 60GHz Wi-Fi is one option, millimeter wave 5G is another, assuming there are 5G base stations nearby — something that enterprises are now considering with private 5G networks.
For this end-to-end solution, Qualcomm provides the reference design for XR2-based headsets and chips for 5G network hardware, while ZeroLight delivers the mixed reality application and edge cloud rendering server for the private 5G network. Millimeter wave frequencies will maximize the bandwidth and speeds between the headsets and servers, enabling the headset’s display resolution to be as high as possible, with nearly zero latency.
Rather than waiting for carrier-provided 5G infrastructure, this end-to-end 5G network will operate fully within the enterprise’s premises. Because of the tight connection between the headset and edge cloud server, realtime rendering can be split between them, with the headset handling input tracking and some latency-sensitive, low-power tasks while the server does heavier lifting.

The deal makes sense given that ZeroLight has specialized in creating premium automotive mixed reality experiences, and long planned to enable car dealerships to offer tetherless walkarounds of digital vehicles — or digitally augmented real vehicles — in real spaces. Current solutions require a tower-sized computer and/or a long wire to occupy physical space inside each area the dealership wants to use for demos; this solution moves all the hardware except the small headset off the show floor, freeing customers to move around.
ZeroLight is using Nvidia PC-based rendering hardware and CloudXR streaming to a 5G network. The initial retail demonstration uses multiple Pagani vehicles, including a choice of paint colors, alloys, and interior trims.
Equipped with this solution, a dealership will let a customer select all of the customization options for the vehicle, then walk around a photorealistic, fully customized vehicle even if there isn’t one sitting at the lot. This will help customers make on-the-spot purchasing decisions that they might otherwise pass on, absent the chance to see things up close. Since over 35 companies are now participating in Qualcomm’s XR Enterprise Program, there’s a greater likelihood that similar applications will become available soon for remote collaboration, training, health care, and industrial use.
Qualcomm also says that it’s making a “superset” Snapdragon XR2 reference design broadly available to developers, including most of the major features the chipset supports, including 60GHz Wi-Fi and Ericsson-validated 5G wireless abilities, seven cameras, twin high-resolution LCD screens, 6DoF controllers, foveation, eye tracking, and hand tracking. Qualcomm is currently working with partner Goertek on streamlined industrial designs, showing how purpose-optimized VR and AR versions of the hardware will be at least as small and light as well-known existing solutions.

Amazon drives deeper into cars with new Alexa partners, Echo Auto expansion
Amazon is no longer content trying to dominate the home. The ecommerce giant made several announcements Monday ahead of CES 2020 that target the car, including partnerships with Lamborghini and Rivian, new auto-specific skills for its Alexa voice assistant, a market expansion for its Echo Auto device and a plan to bring its latest Fire TV edition into future BMW and Fiat Chrysler vehicles.
Amazon has been honing in on the automotive industry for the past several years, a strategy that has included a direct investment in EV startup Rivian as well as a push to bring its Alexa voice assistant into vehicles either through integration or through its Echo Auto device.
Now it’s ramping up those efforts — and from every angle.
Rivian and Lamborghini made separate announcements Monday about bringing Alexa into their respective vehicles. But that’s just the tip of Amazon’s latest push into automotive. Amazon will launch Echo Auto into new markets outside of the U.S. year, starting with India on January 15. Other countries to follow later this year, the company said.
Amazon said it will bring the latest Fire TV edition into car infotainment systems, beginning with future BMW and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles vehicles. The company also announced new auto-specific skills to its voice assistant, including the ability for drivers to pay for gas at all 11,500 Exxon and Mobil stations by saying “Alexa, pay for gas.”
Amazon is also targeting other voice-driven experiences in the car and announced new integrations with companies that offer navigation services like Bosch, mapping companies HERE and TomTom, Telenav and MELCO.
Amazon is even selling automotive companies such as Blackberry and Unity Technologies on using Amazon Web Services. AWS and Amazon Vehicles are also partnering with Cadillac and ZeroLight to demonstrate a new car-buying concept featuring the Cadillac XT6 at CES 2020. The showcase uses personalized digital experiences to guide a customer through each stage of purchasing a vehicle.
Earlier this year, General Motors said it is adding Amazon Alexa to the infotainment systems of its Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles in the first half of 2020.

Customise Your Audi with Oculus Rift
German car maker Audi have long been regarded as one of the companies on the forefront of technological development. The Audi brand is associated with luxury, quality and business, so fitting it alongside Oculus for Business seems to be a natural fit for both companies.
Audi have previously used virtual reality (VR) technologies for technical development, design and training, but now the company is going further and offering a customer-facing experience that will soon be rolled out to various dealerships.
As demonstrated in the below video, by donning the Oculus Rift headset, customers can view their dream car sitting on an idyllic beach at sunset, the sound of waves crashing in the distance. The user can then use the controls to customise every aspect of the car. Change the paint colour from blue to red, alter the interior from black to red to match the exterior. Add a body kit, pop the top down on a convertible, change your engine preferences, add or remove options and even sit inside the virtual recreation to drink it all in.
The VR experience was created for Audi by Oculus and ZeroLight with collaborations from Intel. The carefully crafted VR recreation of the Audi reacts to the user’s position and lighting, granting it an impressive amount of realism.
It is expected that the VR experience will soon be rolling out to Audi dealerships in Europe, though an exact date has not been set and it is unknown if and when it will appear at Audi dealerships in North America.
