It's so disheartening how lonely it is to write a book. You'll be so proud of reaching a certain goal in your writing but when you talk about it with other people they'll be like "ok, cool." and change the subject. I don't know if it's because most people don't grasp how hard it is, or that it isn't as material/visual as a painting or something, but it still sucks.

I know that I usually keep my rants to myself, but I really needed to get that out.

Honestly, things like that are why I'm reluctant to get my books published by a publishing house and even more about them being adapted into movies or whatever. I want to keep the rights from my stuff. I want artists to be allowed to draw and sell fanarts and merch without being scared that they will be threatened with a lawsuit for making a few bucks. I feel like it's an honor of having such a positive, creative community that creates from your product.

I started Voltron because I keep seeing fanarts and they looked cool. I received the Shiro funko as a gift and I even got a friend to watch it too.

I started How to Train your Dragon because I saw fanarts. I bought the movies multiple time, bought funkos, but also fanarts.

I started Miraculous because of the lovely fanarts I kept seeing and the cute fics I read. I bought the Chat Noir funko and I've been more active than I've ever been with my fanarts and I even started writting fics because I love Miraculous so much. Honestly, I'd have bought one of Chat's figurines if they were in shops in Quebec.

I started RWBY because I saw some fanarts and it was popular at cons (same for Miraculous). I bought Jaune's hoodie and his figurine on their website.

Some off us can't afford your 300$ statues, insane shipping costs or are too old for those child toys you make (when they aren't downright ugly), but we still want to show our love for your content and support those amazing artists we meet at cons and online.

I'm sure that by threatening fanartists, cosplayers, authors of pursuing them in justice because they make a few bucks out of your franchise will only hurt everyone, no one will profit of it. That amazing fandom that you have? It will probably die because the content creators that allow a fandom to survive during those long and painful hiatus will have left for a franchise friendlier to it's community.

Sorry for that rant, I needed to get that out.

1. Your favorite fic that you’ve written (or just one you want to give a shout out to).

Phantasmagoria (Lukadrien) is always going to be one of my favourites. XD 

I’m really proud of Serendipity: Fifty Marichat and Adrienette Kisses, though. I thought that story was going to kill me, but I finished it.

2. Your favorite fic title that you’ve come up with.

Honestly, I suck at titles and summaries. XD Isn’t it enough that I wrote the story? No? XD I genuinely thought that Paw de Deux (Marichat) was clever, and I was surprised it hadn’t been used yet. 

I thought The Adventures of Off-Brand Ladybug and Chat Noir (Adrienette) was kind of cheeky and cute too. ^.^

Drunk Ladybug on My Balcony? Yeah. This is Fine. (Love Square, Platonic Alyanette, Platonic AlyAdrien) was a low point in my life. XD I couldn’t come up with anything, so I was like, “Yeah. Fine. Whatever. It’s just a one-shot”. But then it turned into a multi-chapter story, and I was stuck with the name. XD It was bad.

3.  How do you get inspiration to write?

How do I come up with story ideas or how do I make myself sit down and write? If the latter, I just do it. I really enjoy writing, so I regularly make time for it. It’s how I process emotions and things that happen in my life.

If you’re asking how I come up with story ideas...I’m not sure. They just come to me. A good way to get inspiration is to go for a walk outside. Somewhere with greenery is best. I also get inspired by listening to music, looking at art, seeing theatre performances, and reading. Learning new things is also a source of inspiration. I find inspiration almost everywhere.

4.  Your favorite genre/subgenre of fic to write.

I think I like hurt/comfort with a fluffy ending best. I like empathizing with characters who are hurting so long as they get a happy ending. It’s a bonus if there’s mutual pining and platonic bed sharing.

5.  Do you have other hobbies?

I read a lot, and I like studying. Like, I love learning about a wide variety of subjects from astronomy to art history to music theory to philosophy. It’s really interesting to learn a little bit about a lot of different things. ^.^

6.  A fun fact about you that a lot of people may not know.

I was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes (Type I) when I was in high school. I had to be rushed to the hospital because my blood sugar was in the nine hundreds, and I almost died. My anniversary is March first, so every year I celebrate my diagnosis because that’s another year that I’ve survived thanks to the doctors who saved me.

(Is that a fun fact? ^.^; I think I have a weird sense of what’s fun and or interesting.)

7.  Pick one character to self project onto, go!

8.  Favorite genre of music.

Mostly, I like Japanese popular music. I’m not much of a fan of the super popular boy and girl groups, but I like Japanese punk, rock, and alternative. I also really like “classical” instrumental music. My favourite period is the Romantic Period in the eighteen hundreds.

9.  Your favorite singer/band.

I don’t usually have a particular band whose music I like. My phone is full of one or two songs from a bunch of different artists. In general, I do seem to like UVERworld, Fall Out Boy, and Vocaloid, though. Panic! At the Disco also has some cool music, and I like video game music by Toby Fox (Undertale) and Kondo Koji (The Legend of Zelda). Kajiura Yuki also makes gorgeous music.

10.  And finally, how has your experience in fandom been?

You know, I’ve been lucky, and I’ve had a largely positive experience with the fandom. Everyone’s been very supportive of me and my work. <3 ^.^

Oh great, I have a lot. ^_^; Most of them have already started to be posted, since I’m more focused on finishing my WIPs than starting anything new. I have been in a bit of a writing slump lately, though.

Aside from the WIPs mentioned below, I also have another hidden WIP that’s a MLB for BLM commission so I won’t disclose any details yet. To the person who requested, if you read this--I’m so sorry it’s taking me so long! I’m working on Quantum now because that’s what’s inspiring me and I feel like working on it is curing my writing slump. I promise I’ll finish it soon. (This secret fic will become an audiofic, too.)

Quantum Entangled (Lukadrien)

This is a soulmate, no-powers AU. Soulmates are marked by some point of synchrony in their lives. Between Adrien and Luka, this manifests as them both having composed a fragment of a song that can’t be completed without the other person’s part. Adrien hears Luka play his part and realizes they’re soulmates, but he doesn’t know what to make of that and keeps it from Luka at first, opting to get to know him better instead. There are currently three chapters out, and two chapters coming. I’ve written most of Chapter Four (all but the last couple pages), and done a detailed outline for Chapter Five, so it should be done soon.

Graine de toi (love square)

This was inspired by Kimi no na wa (Your Name)--Adrien and Marinette have temporary body swaps. The reason for the body swapping, and the events that transpire, are different from the movie, so I wouldn’t really call it a crossover. In this AU, Adrien never went to public school, but he’s still Chat Noir and everything else is mostly the same, so the love square dynamic is a little different. There are five chapters out, and the rest of the chapters exist in varying stages of completion (some are fully edited, some are drafted, some outlined, and at least one needs to be rewritten). Not sure when I’ll be finished, but it’s the next multichapter fic in line after Quantum.

The Water Was Never Afraid (Adrigami/Marichat)

In this aged-up fic, Adrien and Kagami start dating. Their relationship isn’t bad, but Adrien is dealing with stress at home and work that Kagami can’t necessarily support him through, and dating her also puts pressure on him, so he starts visiting Marinette as Chat Noir to relieve some of the stress.

Rêveries, Passions (love square)

Music AU. Adrien is a piano prodigy and Marinette is a violinist. They go to music university together, and Adrien plays at a jazz club as the masked Chat Noir to get away from the elitism and competition of the classical music world. Marinette and Adrien are best friends, and he invites her to the jazz club, but she’s struggling to keep her head above water at school and thinks a side hobby will be a distraction, so she says no. She ends up going in disguise as Coccinelle once, though, and gets caught up in a flirty relationship with Chat Noir. It’s a story about secrets--the ones they disclose and the ones they keep.

I have a series of short drabbles in this universe, a few long drabbles, and a couple of chapters out. I’m not sure when I’ll get back to updating it.

Project Repo (LuXY)

Team Miraculous knows each other’s identities and communicates regularly through a group chat. When they lose the fox miraculous and XY picks it up, Luka gets assigned to get it back from him. It’s supposed to be humorous, but I suck at writing humor. XD I was having fun with this series, though. Someday I’ll get back to it.

Nowhere Else To Go (Marichat / love square)

Chat Noir runs away from home and seeks refuge at Marinette’s house, but he won’t tell her why. A story about the pain of not knowing how to help one’s suffering friend, and dealing with the emotional issues surrounding a Hawkmoth reveal. (I hope that’s not a spoiler, but I mean... it’s pretty obvious, and the point of the story is not to surprise people with why he ran away.) I’ve been debating about whether to post this on AO3 or not, because it feels so old and badly written to me. People on YouTube seem to like it, though, so once I finish other WIPs I might give it a thorough round of editing, finish it, and start posting on AO3.

When I first wrote the series, I finished it. However, since there are so many loose ends and emotional issues to tie up, there was a lot of content that I later decided to add, which expanded the chapter count. Since then, though, I’ve decided that it isn’t necessary to resolve everything and extend the story beyond its natural ending point; I can always write more drabbles in the universe or a sequel later if I really feel like it, but it’s more important to keep the story concise and finish it. So I think there will only be three more chapters. One is already written, one is half-written, half-outlined, and the last is written. The end is in sight.

UMS Online (love square)

An AU where Marinette is a 3D artist and Adrien is a developer, the son of a gaming company CEO. His father is trying to push him into management, but Adrien prefers coding and gaming. He secretly plays UMS Online, an online fight game, as Chat Noir, the second-best player on the leaderboard, while Marinette secretly plays as Ladybug, the top player. Marinette gets hired by Agreste Co. (the gaming company) and doesn’t realize her boss’ son is Chat Noir. I thought the premise was fun and I have the whole thing outlined, but who knows when I’ll get back to this haha. It’s very low on my list of priorities.

Taking a break

Just a heads up, but I'll take a break from social media (or at least try) for the coming weeks (not that I was that active to begin with lately anyway). Everything just bums me out from the AI stuff to the shitstorm that is twitter and everything. I'll try to focus on working on my novel and maybe eventually webcomic, well, mainly whatever I'll want to do.

I might log in on desktop from time to time but I'm not sure, I'll see.

Ready to disapear from the world tomorrow once I get my hands on tears of the kingdom in less than 24 hours. It feels surreal, can't wait to have it in my hands.

The Sound of your Voice (lovesquare, probably reversed)

It's my deaf! Adrien AU I started in the begining of the year?? It feels like more though. It started as a retelling of Origins, but I wanted to do more original akumas. I was working on chapter 3, which is The Bubbler if I recall correctly. I think I was halfway through it. I do plan on continuing it, but I'll rework some stuff first.

Kwami Karting (it doesn't really have a main ship, but it has most of the regulars like adrinette, djwifi, etc.)

Post Hawkmoth defeat, Ladybug organizes a small party with the heroes so they can say a last goodbye to their kwamis before most of them go away for school and to follow their dreams.

La forêt maudite (lukadrien)

It's based on the oneshot I wrote for Lukadrien June. Basically, there is a forest that is rumored to curse the people who get lost and to never let them leave. Gabriel hates the forest's inhabitants, believing they kidnapped Emilie. Adrien meets Viperion and helps him get free from the hunters. As he runs away into the woods, Adrien enters a new world.

Zelda AU (still unsure, but will probably have some marichat, lukadrien and marigami)

It's pretty much only an outline, but it's a Zelda AU in a BotW inspired world. The Bourgeois took over Hyrule Castle in a coup, helped by Gabriel and Nathalie. Adrien was born with the mark of the Triforce of courage, but he's not allowed outside the mansion so no one knows a new hero has been born and to allow Gabriel to keep one part of the Triforce under close watch. He ends up running away and takes the name Chat Noir, with his fairy companion Plagg, Nino the trainee and Luka the Zora bard. Meanwhile, Marinette grew up in a bakery in Hateno with her parents, until the day a young sheikah by the name of Kagami comes to bring her to Kakariko.

Top 4 ships:

Lovesquare (Miraculous), DJwifi is great too, but the irony and the shenanigans of the lovesquare win. I have a slight preference for Marichat stuff, but all sides are valid and great (even if snekmouse is clearly the best and has so many canon scenes to back it up). Adrien and Marinette are just pawsome! I usually lean towards mlm or wlw ships, but other than Marc and Nathaniel (who have some great fics and fanarts), none really caught my attention in Miraculous and the lovesquare is funny, full of love and trust and simply miraculous.

Spierfeld, Bram and Simon from the Simonverse by Becky Albertalli. I loved the books and the movie and Simon allowed me to accept my homosexuality, so I'm a little biased, but they're both so relatable, I was scared sometimes because I had similar thoughts. I'm a mix of Bram, Simon and Leah honestly. She was so relatable in Leah on the Offbeat.

Sidlink, Link and Sidon from Breath of the Wild, though Zelink is really close. Like, I still remember meeting Sidon and spending way too much time at Zora's Domain looking at him and following him.

Arkos, Jaune and Pyrrha (RWBY), though I ship Jaune with Neptune, Sun or doggo guy from Vol. 8 (I can't remember his name and I feel so bad). Marrow! Arkos is wholesome and Bumblebee is god tier too!

A bonus one but it's platonic: Toothless and Hiccup from How to Train Your Dragon. It's top tier friendship and you can't convince me otherwise. They made me cry so much, it's unreal.

Last song I listened to: Indomitable from RWBY Vol. 6's soundtrack. It's really good and always make me feel a little better. Le mur qui nous sépare is pretty neat too, but I grow tired of it after a while.

Last film I watched: Big Hero Six. I was in a Baymax mood (he's the perfect robot, don't sue me). I'm satisfied with my care.

Currently reading: Miraculous fics. Adrienette month is ending, but we were fed so much good content, it was purrty clawsome. For books, I recently finished Red White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuinston, it was really good! It felt like reading a fanfic, but it's a "real" book. The relationship between the character is well written, and I'd pay so much to live in that alternate universe. Gimme the miraculous, I'll wish for it XD.

Currently craving: Affection Something sweet like chocolate chips and banana cookies. I'm a Tikki at heart... or just for my cravings because I'm probably more like Plagg.

I'm only missing Zamazenta to have a full living dex (the 890 of them) but everyone asks for legendaries you can't trade on GTS. I forgot how fun it was in previous games (I'm really sarcastic).

I'm working on my finals up to friday this week and then I'll be on break until september! I plan on doing more fanarts (let's be real, 90% of it will be Adrien/Chat) and continue Sound of your Voice. I'll also be working on my Turtle Noir Cosplay, though I'm not in a hurry since both cons I planned to go are very probably canceled or delayed.

By the way, I'm a bit sorry that I've been spamming Miraculous stuff recently, but it's what interests me most right now so I understand if it's not your stuff.

I may be a little less active in the near future with all that is happening and I'll start working on my Turtle Noir cosplay soon. I'll make sure to continue to draw and write in between.

I've been wanting to cosplay Link for a while now and since I managed to do Jaune Arc from RWBY, I guess it won't be that hard but now I'd like to do Chat Noir too, but since I'm not comfortable wearing a skin tight suit, I'd like to redesign him in a way that I'd be ok cosplaying. Luckily I don't need them to be ready until july/august, but I'd like to start working on it earlier.

My goal this year will simply to try being happier. I could have said draw more, write more, see more people (as if I could with covid), but even though those things could do it, I'd rather focus on myself and loving myself.
