why'd you zoom in on that particular detail like i cant figure out if theres anything significant with it
anonymous bosch this is going to get aggressively horny and for that i do apologize, but as soon as i saw that detail i thought "it would be very fun to run your hand under that wing. it's gotta be an erogenous zone or at least hiding one." does this say more about me than the artist? maybe. but
yk maybe mr. thoma thought the same
dream wife material, truly

You want a shorter version? The nice religious person and the mean religious person both base their behavior from the same source.
They simply do not, is the thing. The epistemology of an Orthodox Jew who believes the Torah to be the exact word of G-d and a Reform Jew who believes nothing of the sort are completely different. Moreover, since only one of those believes halakha is binding, they're hardly "basing their behavior on the same source."
Or, to use your example, the "nice" liberal Christian is not a biblical literalist, and thinks anyone who claims to hear G-d speak to them is either looney or an extremist. You clearly don't know what you're talking about, or you wouldn't say it on anon.

The reason a lot of atheists aren’t super on board with other minority religions is for one, we see what those religions are/where like when they’re in power, although a large amount of religious people agree with the separation of church and state
The other issue is the reasoning for a bigoted theist hating minority, and a progressive theist giving to charity, is the same
Both of these theists are doing what they do because of god, the homophobic Christian and the gay inclusive Christian both believe they are doing gods will, so while a minority religion is similarly oppressed by the religion in power and that is something that should be stopped, many atheists see no difference in their reasoning
This is three paragraphs of nothing but thanks for trying

When i see someone wearing jewelry i made its so sick.... I keep giving jewelry to work friends bc then if they wear it to work I WIN

I'm not 100% sure if salt bagels are definitively a jew thing, but a test I use to see if a bagel shop is jewish-owned is if they have salt bagels. almost all bagel shops I've ever encountered that have them are jewish owned. and I've yet to find a jewish owned one that doesn't have salt bagels.
ooo, that makes sense! it's a strong correlation, at least -- they can be jewish in our hearts <3

Is your tumblr icon a red fox?
I love foxes.
They’re such funny, endearing little creatures. Terribly misunderstood.
I think they’re amazing.
it is !! it's a transparent png that floated around in a post a while ago. i'll have to see if i can find the original post for you ^__^
i like them a lot theyre so nice and cool....... youve seen perhaps the video of the badger and the fox playing together? my best friendships are with foxes like that :D
i myself am the badger, and not terribly foxlike at all, but i like this avatar a lot, even if its false advertising :> Whenever i vote in a poll it looks like hes sniffing the numbers nicely

18, 20! 📚
hii avanti !! thanks for the ask :]
do you like historical books? which time period? well enough! i don't go out of my way to read them but i have read several i really enjoyed, especially the mask of apollo by mary renault. [and right now i'm reading a tracy chevalier book, which is good so far.] i think they have a really powerful ability to bring history alive in a way that is difficult or impossible with just academic texts, but there's the flipside that they can distort it in an equally powerful way. looking at you walter scott.
besides that, i don't super like romance, which is what most historical books are for some reason? so i tend to read fantasy rather than straight historical fiction :] that said i have been recommended a fair number of historical fiction books, and the ones i've read i've liked, so maybe i should get on that..!
none of this feels time period bound to me, but if i were to pick one, i'd say medieval europe :] its due to my medievalist nature.
val beat you to 20 sadly but thank you again for the ask!! :D

4, 19, 20 !
HII thank you nora 🌼🌻🌸🌺🌷 some flowers 4 you
what sections of a bookstore do you browse? in new bookstores, the SFF and nature writing ones, primarily !! at used bookstores (which i prefer), i look at all of them. it's just that it's hard to get good sci-fi used -- it's always pulp fiction from the 70s which is just not my thing LOL
most disliked popular books? i am still mad about uprooted by naomi novik. parts of it were so-so-so good, like i loved the description of magic as a work which people participate to make and must keep steady, but every time the male love interest had a line of dialogue...... yikes. i couldn't finish it.
what are things you look for in a book? so like. i mostly read books that my friends have recommended LOL but if i'm at the library or similar then i read the blurb for a good premise and read a page at random to get a feel of the prose. this has led to lots of stinkers though so don't listen to me
i guess like, re: recommendations, what makes me want to read a book is when the person says "oh this made me feel like chewing plywood btw." no matter what it's about.. i just want to read everybody's favorite books lol
