Okay hi so I’m not quite dead
I barely post but I tend to lurk around here a whole lot, and last night I decided to read WAYYY too much into CQ show lore and made up some theories??? Kind of a wall so it’s under the read below
So, to start off. Let’s look at the pitch for CQ that’s apparently floating around online, as some of my theories derive from it
(Yes, it’s really hard to read but bear with me it exists on only one site) Aside from the really obvious design changes and arc changes, I want to highlight the mentioned “swamp witch” in the scrapped “a boy and is dog” I think that this could’ve been Dorsilla or her and her family, altered for the show. It’s mentioned in CQ2 that there’s a family of witches in the swamp guarding from grubbins from repugnia invading, here we see a young dorsilla.
As we know, Dorsilla switches sides in the first game to the side of the repugnians Given her dialogue in the first game it also doesn’t seem all too unlikely that she would know and actively try to harm a line of “traitors” (I.e norm’s family) Okay first one done, now onto one that has more evidence because it doesn’t come solely from a pitch. Also, if you haven’t watched the final episode yet. SKIP THIS ONE! In S1 part 2, and for a shot during ghosting in S1 part 1. We see Bob Dickerson’s grubbin form, also in S1 Part 2. We see him consume a small amount of nougat and from what we can glean from this scene is that his monster form skin is a dark green
BUT the “monster form” we see has reddish orange skin (at least partially) and still differs in hue to the peak we see in the previous episode (O Grubbin, Where Art Thou?)
So I theorize that perhaps grubbins have a 2nd more powerful eldritch-like form, maybe it’s exclusive to higher ranking grubbins (Judging by how the pitch seems to imply Bob as the general) or for all monsters. This leads into how I think there’s definitely some higher ranking grubbins in repugnia we could’ve seen that were even more dangerous than Bob This is further evidenced by the monster in Breaker Breaker becoming more...well monstrous after licking the nougat And finally, a pretty small one. I think that the costumes or at least a prolonged use of them expands the wearer’s lifespan/strength to some degree, this is based on purely the timeline and one off dialogue in Monsters In Our Midst about Oona. To start off, it’s implied that Oona is over 100 years old in Monsters In Our Midst, it’s entirely possible that this was exaggeration because it was on a tour bus. But this becomes less likely when you see Norm’s flashbacks, given that Oona is meant to be the predecessor to Wren. It’s safe to assume that she was Wren’s age at the time of the first all out battle with the costume warriors, this puts her around 111-113 years old. Now someone CAN get that old, but Oona’s able to survive a dry cleaner collapsing, jumping off of platforms and various other things a 110 something year old lady would probably keel over from. So maybe the magical costumes kinda...pass on their magic and stuff? If that makes any sense And that...concludes some rambling okay bye
