Fall in love all over again in volume one of the graphic novel adaptation of the global phenomenon AFTER! Uncover Tessa and Hardin's love story as you've never seen it before . . . Anna Todd's original story comes to life with breathtaking illustrations by Pablo Andres.
Blurb - There was the time before Tessa met Hardin, and then there’s everything AFTER . . .
Life will never be the same. #Tessa Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She’s got direction, ambition, and a mother determined to keep her on course. But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin, with his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, and tattoos. Good looking, confident . . . and rather rude, even a bit cruel. For all his attitude and insults, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does―until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites a passion she’s never known before. He'll call her beautiful, then insist he isn’t the one for her, making excuses and disappearing, again and again. He’ll turn away, yet every time when she pushes back, he’ll only pull her in deeper. Despite the reckless way Hardin treats her, Tessa is drawn to his vulnerability, determined to unmask the real Hardin beneath all the lies. A good girl . . . a bad boy . . . something undeniable . . . and everything AFTER.
Short summary - After tells the story of Tessa, an intelligent and conservative young woman who has been raised by an overprotective single mother. When she begins college she finds herself constantly thrown in the way of Hardin, the baddest, bad boy of them all who has cruel intentions.

Carol Young (Recurring character) - Molly Sanbels (Recurring character)
Tristan Thomals (Recurring character) - Steph Jones (Recurring character)
Nate Bryson (Recurring character) - Zed Evans (Recurring character)
-My Final thoughts (likes, dislikes and recommend for) are -
I love this book but I still hate the fact that Tessa cheated so many times on Noah and not only did he know about it but also kept giving her so many more chances. I also didn’t like the fact that Noah kept telling her what she could and couldn't do even telling her who she can and can’t hangout with. This graphic novel is one of my favorite graphic novels and the designs and colors that they have chosen to use in this graphic novel complements the storyline very well. I love the fact that they used Dark colors to show more intense movements and happy bright colors to lighter scenes. The drawings and graphic art in this graphic novel are amazing. The artwork stays true to the novels and the movie scenes as well which I love.
Just make sure you read the triggered warning first if you struggle with getting triggered from something that has happened to you or is still happening to you or someone you know. Then decide if you feel comfortable enough reading this, but this book is great for young adults and late teenagers since it explores relationships, friendships and college life. In my opinion the novel series is even more full on and the movie series is heaps less full on especially the first movie . In my opinion I would first start out with watching the movies series, of which there are five movies now. Then reading the graphic novels, then go onto reading the novel series just to make sure you won’t get triggered.
-Why I chose this book to do a book review on?
Reason one - Being because I love this franchise so much including the novel and movies. I also really wanted to get back into reading and so wanted to re-read this graphic novel in time for the second graphic novel after vol 2 release date.
Reason two - I also wanted to share with others the storyline and how there are good morels and things that you can learn from in this book, but also if you love the movies but feel like the novel series may be too full on for you now there is a less full on version for you to read. The graphic novel is between the movie and novel series more on the novel storyline but like the movie series in which it is heaps less full on.
Also in this series:

Quote #2 - “After everything, we made it. Whatever the hell our souls are made of, they are the same” - Hardin

1 - AFTER 2 - AFTER WE COLLIDED

You'll Never Need Me Again (You Look Happier Final Part)
Pairing: Trevor Matthews x reader, Hardin Scott x Tessa (current), Hardin Scott x reader (Ex)
Summary: Hardin shows up ready to make amends but is it too late?
A/N: The final part. I’ve loved writing this, and I hope you enjoy this last part!

“Hardin?” He looks like shit. He hasn’t sleep at all and his hands are trembling. For a second you wonder if he’s drunk, but his eyes seem focused and clear. Not the usual glazed look when he’s been downing shots.
“Nice office,” he states looking around.
“What are you doing here?” you ask feeling like you just entered the lion’s den. He could strike at any point and you’re defenseless. Everything in you is screaming but you stay calm on the outside.
“I wanted to, no. I needed to see you. And then I found out you were working for Vance now.”
“So, you just showed up without telling me first?” you ask trying to buy yourself some time to figure out why he’s here. Did he get tired of Tessa already? Perhaps he realised he made a mistake. But if that’s the case, were you prepared to take him back?
“I’m sorry. I guess I’ve messed up a lot of stuff lately.”
“You think?” You’ve spent so long crying over the boy standing in front of you that you haven’t been able to feel all the anger too. But now you feel it. You feel the humiliation of being cheated on, the anger of his betrayal, the utter defeat of losing him. In some ways, it’s liberating to feel angry instead of heartbroken - though some may argue that it’s the same thing.
“I know I have. I messed things up with you and I’ll never not be sorry about that, Y/N. You have to believe me.” He’s stepping closer to you with clear desperation in his eyes. He means it but you’re not sure you’re ready to hear it.
“I moved on, Hardin. I picked myself up after you broke me and I moved on. You can’t just come here and say things like that unless-”
“Unless?” The hope in his voice is evident.
“Unless you mean it.” You’re angry and hurt, but Hardin was the one person you thought you were going to spend the rest of your live with. And now he’s standing in front of you saying everything you’ve wanted to hear for the last couple of months. Your pride wants you to yell at him and tell him to go, but your heart is not ready for that yet.
“Of course I mean it. I wouldn’t be here, if I didn’t mean it. I messed up. I got complacent and I forgot how good you and I work.” He’s mere inches away from you and you’ve forgotten how to breathe. He’s all you see and he’s all you feel as he wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you close.
“Kiss me.” His eyes have gotten ten times darker. So you kiss him and it’s like breaking through the water surface. Like the world had lost all its colour, but now you see them again.
“I missed your lips,” he gasps as if trying to inhale all of you in one breath. You kiss him again having completely forgotten everything else.
“So this is it, right? You pick me. You’re done with Tessa?” You have to hear it. You have to hear him say that this is the part where he chooses you.
“I’ll tell her as soon as I get back,” he replies not even realising the reaction his words create in your mind. He hasn’t broken things off with her before coming. He kept her as a backup plan in case you said no. If he truly wanted you, it wouldn’t have mattered if you said yes or no. He should’ve ended things with Tessa before coming here. Suddenly, the colour fades and you’re back to normal. In horror you remember Trevor, who’ll be here any minute now. How could you do this to him?
“I want you to go, Hardin.” It feels good to say. Like a sort of closure you never got.
“What? Baby, I’ll take care of everything when we get back home. We can go back to how things were before.” The change in your mood hasn’t registered with him yet.
“I want you to walk out that door and never come back.” You say it slowly, tasting every word as they pass your lips. There’s a liberating feeling in finally being done with Hardin. You needed this last thing before you could truly let him go. You’ve held onto him for far too long and he’s done nothing but pull away. The two of you are not the people you were, when you first got together.
“Don’t say that. Baby-”
“I’m not your baby anymore, Hardin. I’m not yours anymore. You couldn’t even finish things with Tessa before coming here. You didn’t believe enough in our love to risk being alone rather than being with the wrong person. I need someone who’s sure of me and who’ll never hurt me the way you do repeatedly.” With his perfect timing this is the moment Trevor walks through the door.
“Ready for lunch?” He looks up to notice Hardin visibly distraught and you tense and uncomfortable. “Is everything okay?”
“Who is this?” Hardin asks as if Trevor didn’t say anything.
“This is Trevor. We had plans to go for lunch, so I really need you to leave now.” You don’t want him to cause a scene, but you know Hardin so your hope is pointless.
“Fucking Trevor! Is he the reason you don’t want me anymore?!” He’s yelling and you’re horrified by what your colleagues out in the hall thinks.
“Buddy, I think she asked you to leave,” Trevor says calmly putting his hand on Hardin’s arm. It’s the wrong thing to do when dealing with Hardin.
“Please don’t,” you say noticing his clenched fist. He knows what you’re asking but it’s not in his nature to respond in any other way than violence.
“Don’t make me call security,” Trevor says sensing what’s about to happen too. The threat of security seems to wake Hardin up. He rips free his arm from Trevor’s grip and turns to me.
“If I leave now, I’m not coming back, you hear me. If I walk, I’m done with your ass.”
“Fine.” Four letters, one word, a thousand hidden goodbyes. He walks out the door leaving you and Trevor alone.
“Friend of yours?” he asks breaking the silence.
“Ex actually. I’m sorry you got involved in that kind of drama,” you reply hiding your face in your hands.
“Hey, look at me,” he pleads slowly removing your hands, “let’s talk about it over lunch.” And you do. You tell him all about Hardin and the years you’ve spent with him. In the spirit of complete honesty, you tell him about the kiss in the office and your brief moment of misjudgment. You tell him that there was a time when you thought Hardin was the one you’d spent the rest of your life with but now you don’t feel that way anymore. Everything gets laid out on the table because you’re tired of drama and secrets and if things are ever going to work between you and Trevor, you need to play with open cards from the beginning.
“That’s a lot to take in,” Trevor says when you’re finally done speaking.
“I understand if you never want to talk to me again. But I just want you to know that I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you.”
“Well, there’s much more to tell so you’re not done yet.” He smiles warming your heart.
“Just promise you won’t be kissing anymore ex boyfriends, yeah?”
“I promise not to kiss anyone who isn’t you.”
“Good.” He leans in and kisses you softly. You don’t know why he forgives you or why he gives you a second chance, but you’ll be forever thankful that he does.

You Broke Me First (You Look Happier Part 3)
Pairing: Trevor Matthews x reader, Hardin Scott x Tessa (current), Hardin Scott x reader (Ex)

A/N: I’m aiming for one more part which will be the last one. I hope you enjoy!

“Thank you so much for your time,” you say shaking Vance’s hand.
“Of course. I’ll have my assistant send you over the contract. Sounds good?” he asks with a smile.
“Absolutely, sir.”
“Please, it’s just Vance. Sir makes me feel a tad too old,” making the two of you laugh. You can feel your hands shaking slightly out of pure nerves but the hard part is over now and you did it. You got the job. In a moment of pure stupidity mixed with giddiness you decide to stop the elevator on the 3rd floor. He did say to come find you.
“I’m looking for a Trevor,” you say by the reception and a nice lady points you to the office down the hall.
“Knock knock,” you say standing in the doorway. Trevor looks up from his computer and smiles.
“What are you doing here?” he asks removing his glasses.
“Well, you did say you hoped to see me around. And I just wanted to let you know that you’ll be seeing me around a lot more.”
“That’s amazing. Congratulations!” he stands up and moves to hug you. The hug is just right. Warm, soft and short.
“Thank you! I didn’t really have anyone to tell. I just moved here, so I thought you at least were a friendly face.” It’s a bit of a stretch. You have Zed. But in this big city you’ve come to find that a good social network is crucial to survive. And Trevor seems like a guy you want to know.
“Actually, I just moved here too. I transferred when the department opened. So I know how you feel.”
“Really?” That’s when you learn that Trevor’s been working just a half hour away from you for the last couple of years. It’s a small world indeed.
“Well, listen. I’ve got some things I need to finish up, but would you like to meet for dinner maybe?” Your hesitation last only a second but he catches on.
“Just as friends, I promise. Like you said, it’s nice with a friendly face.” You’re saying yes before you let yourself think too much. Hardin would hate the guy standing in front of you. Mainly because he’s everything Hardin isn’t. And that’s not a good or bad thing, but Hardin’s always had trouble dealing with his image.
“I’ll be here around 7 then?” you ask to confirm with Trevor.
“Sounds perfect. I know just the place.” You wave goodbye before heading home. Zed is overjoyed that you got the job and frankly, you are too. It’s the small steps in the right direction. Slowly, but surely your heart weighs less and less. You even catch yourself singing in the shower that afternoon which you haven’t done in a long time.
“Who’s got you in such a good mood?” Zed asks when you return from the bathroom. He’s flipping through the channels on the tv.
“We don’t have to,” you say knowing that if the roles had been reversed you wouldn’t want to hear anything about Zed’s love life. If you could even say that Trevor was part of yours.
“I listened to you whine over Hardin for more than a year. I’m okay,” he jokes and when he sees your face, he adds, “Really, Y/N. It’s okay. I have to get over you at some point.” Every trace of humour has left his face. You know it’s stupid but you tell him anyway. He was your best friend before anything else.
“His name is Trevor. He works at Vance. We’re just meeting as friends,” you reveal not being able to keep a smile off your face. You’d forgotten how good butterflies in your stomach feel. It’s been a long time since you’ve had any reason to get excited for a dinner.
“I’m really happy for you. I think it’s great you’re putting yourself out there. And I hope it works out, but even if it doesn’t then it’s a baby step in the right direction.” He gives your hand a little squeeze to let you know that the two of you are good.
“Thank you.” You’re not just thanking him for now but for everything he’s done. He’s been your rock when you thought you were falling.
“I love you too. Now get going!” He shoos you towards the door making you laugh.
“I’m going, I’m going,” you say grabbing your purse.
“You look great,” he calls after you. Thankfully, it’s only a short walk to the office where Trevor is already waiting by the front lobby.
“You look beautiful,” he states fidgeting a little with the knot on his tie. You notice it’s a new one from earlier.
“Thank you, Trevor. You look quite dashing yourself.” You blush not knowing where those words came from but Trevor seems too occupied with his own thoughts to notice.
“So did you know a place?” you ask to break the silence.  He nods and gestures to take his arm. He holds the door for you creating a feeling in your stomach that you’ve never felt before. Gentleman through and through. The dinner is better than you expect. Trevor is easy to make conversation with and it turns out that the two of you have more in common than you thought. He’s so laid back and calm that it makes you feel calm too. There’s nothing forced, so when you’re standing outside your front door at the end of the night, you don’t think twice when you lean in and kiss him.
“That was nice,” he whispers clearly surprised that you’d been bold enough to make the first move. He leans in for another kiss making you smile.
“We should say goodnight,” you reckon. You want to take things slow and make sure it feels completely right. The wound from Hardin is closed now but the skin is still fragile. You can’t take much more hurt right now.
“Goodnight,” he whispers placing a kiss on your forehead before turning around. You watch him drive away. It takes you a moment before you go inside. The ghost of his kiss is still there making you smile. The remainder of the week you and Trevor text back and forth constantly and when you see him at work Monday morning the butterflies flutter in your stomach once again.
“Hi,” you say getting into the elevator with him. Thankfully no one enters other than you two so when the door closes you immediately turn and drag him in for a kiss.
“I missed you.”
“I missed you,” he whispers back kissing you. The days spent apart made your crush even worse because they allowed you to pine after him. Sometimes distance does make the heart grow fonder.
“Meet me for lunch?” you ask and he agrees before getting off. You’re so caught up in your own thoughts that you don’t notice him until you’re standing in your office.
“Hardin?”

You Look Happier Part 2 Preview
Sitting at a cafe trying to finish part 2 and I figured I’d give you a little sneak peak. Also there might be a part 3, because I have a lot to write, but I’m not sure yet. Let me know what you think. ❤️
______________________________
“Make me forget him.” It’s cruel really because you know he’s had a crush on you since you started college but the world is cruel and you just don’t have it in you to think about feelings that aren’t your own right now.
“Y/N, I can’t.” It’s meant as a rejection but he doesn’t mean it. You can tell that he wants this to be true and real. He wants you to want him the way he’s wanted you for a long time but now you’re this broken puzzle that might be too hard to solve.
“Please.” The word comes out as a whimper and if you’d been more cohesent you’d probably by mortified by how pathetic you’re acting right now. But you’re not and Zed is fighting a losing battle.

Can You Keep A Secret?
Pairing: Zed Evans x reader, Hardin Scott x reader (related)
Summary: You’re Hardin’s cousin and followed Hardin to America. You’re friends with molly and the other but Hardin doesn’t want Zed to be around you because he’s afraid they’re not good for each other. That causes some drama. requested by @find-another-place
A/N It’s set while Hardin has the bet thing going in but Zed is obviously not a part of it.
Tumblr media
“I should get going,” you say loud enough for Hardin to hear but not loud enough to alert everyone sitting around you. It’s yet another night of partying at the frat house and while you would normally enjoy a night of fun with Hardin and Molly, tonight you have something else planned.
“Where were you going again?” he asks clearly suspicious. He’s been that way ever since he found out you and Zed went on a date.
“I have a deadline to finish, Hardin. I’m going straight home,” you reply. He can’t really argue with that since he’s the one who got you the book deal. Without your knowledge your dear cousin submitted your work to Vance who was ecstatic about your writing style so now you had a book deal and a deadline though that wasn’t the real reason why you were leaving tonight.
“No detours?”
“No detours,” you sigh, “but it’s not like it’s something you decide anyway.” Getting up from the couch you nod to Molly who immediately follows you.
“What’s up?” she asks. Even though Molly has a bad reputation of being a complete bitch, you don’t really care since she’s never been anything but a good friend to you.
“I need Hardin to be distracted. Think you’re up for it?” you smirk knowing that it’ll be no problem for Molly to distract Hardin even now that he’s been spending so much time with that Tessa girl. Without another word Molly goes to sit on Hardin’s lap and while he looks slightly annoyed about it, he still allows it. For a second, you wonder how long it’ll take for him to admit that he likes Tessa. Then you remember that you have other places to be, so you grab your stuff and head out to where your new favourite car is parked.
“Hi,” you smile getting into the passenger seat.
“So, where do you want to go?” Zed asks giving your hand a light squeeze before turning on the engine to the car.
“Your place. I figured we could cook together.” Before pulling onto the road he raises your hand and kisses it. The gesture turns your cheeks red so you look away. You’ve never been very romantically inclined and the closest thing you had to a boyfriend back in England was a guy you hooked up with twice rather than just once. In that perspective you resemble Hardin a lot but when you came to America and met Zed, something changed for you. Suddenly, you wanted all that cheesy romance that you normally only saw in films. The sweet gestures and whispered promises. You want it all and Zed gives it to you. If only Hardin could see that instead of being so bothered about the fact that you want to be with Zed. You know there’s some history between him and Zed, but Zed would never intentionally hurt you. And with the bet concerning Tessa, you don’t really feel like he has a leg to stand on.
“What’s on your mind?” Zed asks bringing you back to the present.
“Just you and Hardin,” you reply staring out the window, “I wish you could get along.”
“Don’t put that on me though. I tried to talk to him.” And you know Zed tried. You tried, Molly tried, even Landon tried just to help. But there’s no talking to Hardin when he gets like this. He just wants to have it his way but you won’t let that stop you.
“Turn the car around?”
“What?”
“Turn the car around, I’ve changed my mind.” Zed pulls over on the side of the road with a look that clearly says “you’ve lost your mind”.
“We’re going to the party. I don’t want to sneak around anymore.” Hardin does not get to decide who you date. If that were the case, you’d tell him to drop Tessa immediately.
“Are you sure? Last time he saw us together didn’t exactly go well.” He scratches the back of his head, A reflex he has when he gets nervous.
“I totally respect if you don’t want to, but I’m so done sneaking around. I don’t want Hardin to control my life.” He’s kissing you the second you finish talking. It’s rough and passionate and you love every second of it.
“Let’s do it.” Half an hour later you’re back at the house where the lawn is filled with people either making out or puking their guts out. It’s a disgusting scene and you can’t believe you were once one of the people on that lawn.
“Ready?” Zed asking and when you nod he gets out the car to open your door. You silently pray that this will not go as badly as you imagine it. But of course no one’s listening because you only just make it through the door before Hardin has Zed pinned against the wall.
“What are you doing with her?” he demands to know.
“Hardin, stop!” you yell trying to get him away from Zed but he’s not budging. Thankfully, Zed is standing completely still instead of provoking him. You make eye contact with him and he gives you a slight nod.
“Hardin, listen to me! We’re dating, okay. We have been for a few months now.” His fist connects with Zed’s jaw making you cry out. Tristan grabs hold of Hardin and pulls him away.
“Are you okay?” you ask searching Zed’s face for any kind of injure. It’ll definitely bruise but he seems alright.
“Look, Scott, I like her. Okay? This isn’t a bet or petty revenge or whatever you may think.” Grabbing hold of your hand he gives you a reassuring squeeze. It’s all that keeps you from jumping Hardin yourself. It’s so typical that he wants to control everything and everyone. Even now with three guys holding him back, he’s still trying to punch his way free and get to Zed.
“You will accept this or I tell Tessa!” You don’t really mean it, but he’s leaving you no choice. If he refuses the accept you and Zed then this is the alternative.
“You wouldn’t,” he spits and you can tell the anger coursing through him. Maybe it’s a bad idea to agitate him right now but the problem is that you’re getting angry too.
“Are you willing to risk that?” You shouldn’t have come. It was a stupid idea so you spin around and drag Zed with you out the door. Before you can get in the car Molly comes up to you.
“Thank you for making this an interesting party,” she laughs and you can’t help but laugh a little yourself. Why you ever thought this could go well is beyond you.
“Y/N!” You turn around ready for round two but he seems more relaxed now.
“I don’t do apologies.” Raising your brows you wait for him to continue.
“If you truly like him then I guess I can leave it alone. But don’t come crying to me when he breaks your heart.” He points his finger at Zed but you smile anyway. This is the closest you’ll get to acceptance from Hardin and you’ll gladly take it. You engulf him in a hug which he returns slightly hesitant.
“Thank you,” you whisper before letting go of him. You walk over to stand beside Zed and he places a kiss on the top of your head.
“Don’t do that shit in front of me,” Hardin warns making both you and Zed chuckle.
“Then don’t look,” he says before kissing you properly. It’s sweet and short but enough to stir alive the butterflies that have taken residence in your stomach since you started dated Zed.
