ZARINA ZALES is based on ZARINA from PIRATE FAIRY She is a 27 year old FAIRY, ANTIQUES DEALER and uses SHE/HER pronouns. She has the power of FLIGHT, ELEMENT MANIPULATION, TALENT SWITCHING.

starting off strong !!! no family , at all !

she had a knack for experimenting with pixie dust, a life blood force to fairies like her.

she realized she could use her powers and abilities for good, but people always told her that her powers weren't to be trusted and went so far to forbid her from using them due to possible danger.

and then one of her experiments mixed with her powers,   destroyed most of pixie hollow. shocker. she was kicked out and then ran away

she thought of the pixie hollow gang as her family even though she was the odd bird out, constantly walking instead of flying, being too inquisitive for her own good.

when she ran away she found james(hook) and his group of friends(pirates) and she  felt at home and trusted them instantly, even living with them.

then she started baking her revenge plan on pixie hollow.

with practice she realized she can manipulate elements and even rearrange peoples powers, she felt limitless and she grew resentful because she never knew what she was capable of

she doesn't want to be in evermore, feeling constrained and stuck is a personal nightmare and probably has frustration towards people that don't want to think about it, or that have no memory at all

sooOO zarina very much hates being in evermore, and finds things very much wrong since she ran away from her home and is now back with the people she ran away from(+plus she was working on a revenge scheme). her memory is partly there but it's foggy  and she has a bad resentful feeling and is constantly trying new things and new ways to figure out why they're there and maybe leave. but her experiments, even with her powers, literally blow up in her face 

she works as an antiques dealer and has sold amazingly rare pieces and thats very much bc she steals them... shhh and she pockets some of the cash from important buyers and the shop for her experiments in hopes to find a way out.

zarina likes to get reactions, wether its experiments or people, she loves to see things bubble over.

impulsive ? yes. reckless? you betcha. cranky? yusss

she's roguish feisty fiery, curious but loyal, honest to a fault, spontaneous, and unapologetically herself

she hates disloyal people, liars, being told what to do, and being taken advantage of. 

she's sassy xoxoxo but does have a big soft spot but she's in her manipulator era so she doesn't like people knowing

also , very much a fairy, very much uses it to her advantage to steal things so she keeps it hush hush !!  only flies when she’s stealing, running away, or in crisis.

3 Obscure headcanon and 12 Crack headcanon about Danny. For Sam it's less headcanon and more gimmie dat weird lore

3. Obscure headcanon...

For Danny, I’m honestly struggling a little bit to come up with one for him that I haven’t previously mentioned. I feel like my sexuality headcanons that I’ve mentioned in more depth previously are kinda obscure, if only because fandom tends to depict him as very sexually focused from what I’ve mostly seen. Conversely, I kinda dropped the sexual part out and have him focused more on the violence…. With him being a little bit alienated from his sexuality in some ways, although certainly not shy about the concept itself. 12. Okay, this is maybe less of a headcanon...exactly... but when not shipping Danny/Sam or Danny with other survivors (Meg, Yui, Zarina primarily) .... I am partial to the concept of Danny/Entity. I don't know WHAT this would look like exactly in concept which is why I view it as a bit of a crack concept... can Spider Mommy even manifest a body??? Anyways I think she's his #1 fan but also like... part of the reason he murders. She's the pin keeping the moth pegged to the board. I wanted to explore this concept a bit through dreams originally, with Danny having nightmares that involve spiders.

For Sam, the weirdest thing about her (from other people/her family’s perspective) is her borderline obsession with morbid topics. Writing about the cold case murder of a teenage girl for over five years is weird even if it’s ostensibly for her job, becoming a sort of friend to said murder victim’s elderly father is even weirder. Becoming a regular at the last place said girl was seen is weird. Her mother is embarrassed that she can’t say Sam writes for the social column or something more “respectable.” She thinks it’s gruesome to always be covering crime. How can she stomach to write about a mafia hit happening in a local neighbourhood in the early hours of the morning? Joan Riley would be thrilled if Sam suddenly wanted to cover city politics, she would be even happier if Sam suddenly got married and then decided to give up journalism for good. Her older brother Chris, despite being a cop, struggles to wrap his head around it because unlike being a cop he doesn’t see journalism as having a major use when reporting crime, particularly murders. He views it as sensationalizing. He would rather the police handle dissemination of what they view as important info.

I wonder if it would be beneficial to make some sort of “introduction” post about Sam, containing some general info about her background that would be covered in the first few intro chapters (so hardly spoilers).

GI: HEADCANON — LUNA GELIDA STORY QUEST TIMELINE.

This meta is created to give people an understanding of when Zarina’s Story Quest happens in the story to give all muses included in those story quests to know when and how certain events may change their opinion of Zarina. I always stage first interactions with Zarina WAY BEFORE Traveler appears in the game with characters who are NOT Traveler. She’s someone who’s quite (in)famous within the lands of Teyvat. This is something people can use for our interactions without asking as long as you give me a timeline. Certain events would greatly change perception of Zarina by some of the parties included in her story quests. Especially Traveler’s and Nahida’s. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Any discovery regarding Zarina’s involvement, her true nature, and everything else is NOT known to the general public of Sumeru or Teyvat (aside from those who can know based on her involvement, like Fatui and Abyss Order). Nahida keeps everything that happened hush-hush due to how negatively it will affect the public, especially after 3 Sages have betrayed the region of Sumeru. Due to how big Zarina’s name is and how much she contributed to the lives of 'common folk,' it’s expected that a massive backlash and distrust will start to cause chaos within Sumeru or other parts of Teyvat; thus, only a select number of people know about Zarina’s true nature past Intro Quest and Acts I/II. 

ARCHON QUEST / INTRO QUEST TO LUNA GELIDA STORY QUEST LINE → SERPENTINE DANCE OF EPICUREANISM happens AFTER Nahida’s and Alhaitham’s quests.

Zarina herself appears AFTER the main Sumeru Archon quest finishes, which gives time for the Traveler, Nahida, and Paimon to meet with her and speak with her, get to know her, etc. Well, the ‘Zarina Sokolova’ that’s seen as a hero, as a helpful presence, as a person who is known for her help around Akademiya and as someone who’s the strongest contender to become the Amurta Darshan’s next Sage after Azar’s downfall. 

Active characters who take part in this quest: Traveler, Paimon, Alhaitham, Kaveh, Tighnari, Nahida (appears at the end). NPCs who make appearances: Current Sage of Amurta Darshan - Naphis, Abyssal Serpent.

LUNA GELIDA: ACT I → THE DREAMSCAPE OF THE ABYSSAL DECADENCE happens right after the Intro Quest and is available ONLY after the Archon Quest is done. It starts immediately after the introduction quest but a certain amount of time passes between the intro quest and this act. 

Active characters who took part in this quest: Traveler, Paimon, Alhaitham, Kaveh, Nahida, Cyno. NPCs who make appearances: Humanity, Entertainment, Love, Abyssal Serpent, Victor Sokolov, Aleksey Sokolov. 

BETWEEN ACT I AND ACT II, Zarina remains in jail and is interrogated by Matra… without much success. No one in Sumeru knows that Sokolova is even in jail with how hush-hush it is. Only Cyno (as General Mahamatra), Nahida (as the Archon), and Alhaitham (as Active Grand Sage) are aware where exactly Zarina is held. Some of the characters who have taken part in Intro and Act I are able to visit Zarina by asking either of the three above.

Characters who can visit Zarina in jail: Traveler, Paimon, Nahida, Alhaitham, Kaveh, Tighnari, Cyno, Naphis. Several characters may be given new knowledge about Zarina’s whereabouts and her involvement due to how close they are to Traveler: Dehya. 

LUNA GELIDA: ACT II → THE TRIAL OF META THINKING MALICE AND SUBJECTIVE RIGHTEOUSNESS happens AFTER Caribert Archon Quest, the Traveler will seek out Zarina’s answers as someone who’s now the closest person (aside from Dainsleif and now seemingly Kaeya) who they can make speak about the Abyss. Well, or so they thought. Act II also includes the [TRIAL] that is done in a very small mumber of participants who are written below.

Active characters who took part in this quest: Traveler, Paimon, Alhaitham, Kaveh, Tighnari, Cyno, Nahida. NPCs who make appearances: Naphis, Several Matras (as guards), ▉▉▉▉▉▉▉.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT THE ENDING OF ACT II: Based on plotting, Act II can have 2 endings. Either Zarina is forced to take on the mantle as the Amurta Darshan’s Sage to be ‘under the supervision’ of Nahida and others or… she will [disappear] after the end of the Act II. 

Zarina is only able to become the Amurta Sage as a ‘punishment’ because Sages are the closest ones to Nahida as the Archon and they do not have as much freedom as researchers. Basically, Nahida makes the public happy that Zarina became the Sage since they love her and she keeps Zarina close to not let her escape and do more of her experiments or to extract more information her during her 'observation.'

Was I the only one (pleasantly) surprised that Ayesha was queer? Legit thought Saira was a lesbian and she’d be the only gay character though I’m not ruling out that they make her bi in the future.

How cute is Ayesha having no chill when she likes someone? It feels so unlike her and I kind of like that it unravels her (though obviously she deserves better than Zarina).

You are making me wanna rewatch the series haha. No you’re not the only one, I knew one of them was gonna be queer but I also thought it would be Saira (from the jump) but after the intro character montages I knew it was going to be Ayesha. Glad it turned out to be her tbh. Tho I’m lowkey shipping Saira with Noor 😏.

I think the creator hinted that there’s gonna be new characters in S2 so I’m hoping someone better for my girl. Honestly I don’t ask for much in S2. Just more of the same, girls hanging out, playing maybe a couple more original songs, throw in some light drama and we good.

I think it’s hilarious that Ayesha is usually the tough one and can be somewhat mean to others except the girl she’s crushing on. Zarina is kinda hard to read, I think she likes Ayesha but to what extent idk. It’s the influencer aspect and the “talk” they had that made me side-eye her a bit. Zarina was born in pixie hollow. She always had an eye for adventure. She wanted to prove herself as the best dust keeper fairy around. 

Still even the other dust collector fairies were hesitant around her, arning her not to tamper with blue pixie dust. Zarina tried her best to not tamper with it but she did. 

Her experiments started small, making a squirrel’s fur fluffier or trying to give herself some extra speed.But her experiments went a bit too far and she was banished from pixie hollow.  But not before taking all the blue, pink, and golden pixie dust she could find

Angry and confused she opted to join a young James Hook, someone she believed appreciated her talents. 

She assisted in raids within neverland and pixie hollow, her ideas were revenge for those who hurt her. James appreciated her like no other thats why she stayed 

But she was finally talked out of her own power trip by tinkerbell and the others. Finally seeing the error of her ways and that James was in fact using her. 

Zarina came back home and became the first dust keeper alchemist, showing her abilities and how to make use of pixie dust 

Still Zarina can’t stay from the water for long

Other Information

Zarina is very determined and headstrong, this can be good in terms of her alchemy adventures but not so good when it comes to her interactions in pixie hollow 

Zarina can also be very reckless 

There are other fairies in Pixie Hollow who are still hesitant to accept her because of her previous alliangance to Hook, but she tries to prove herself everyday 

 Zarina is a sweetheart but can be in her own head at times 

She was the first fair to know how to cultivate more pixie dust by planting some within a tree

She prefers walking over flying unless necessary

hi everyone. i’m zarina, i’m 26, and i wanted to write up a little writeblr intro since i plan to start using this blog to talk about writing and my wips. writing is a huge part of my life & i think it’s time to just be honest and stop writing in secret over on my nearly anonymous side blog, haha. 

i received my MFA in creative writing with a concentration in fiction in 2019. i write across several genres--fantasy, science fiction, and realism. i also dabble in poetry and prose poetry. here is a list of my works in progress (this list won’t include novels/stories/other things i’ve finished): 

1. LOVELY, DARK AND DEEP--main WIP. intro is here. adult realism with YA crossover appeal, novel, two drafts completed. Seeking betas!! tag is #ldd. the title comes from the robert frost poem. dark academia. margot carmichael goes to her dead aunt’s alma mater to figure out what drove her to suicide in the year 2000, uncovering horrific crimes against the school’s student body. 

2. NOCTURNALIA--side chick. intro is here. magical realism prose poetry novella, 8.5k words into the first draft. #nocturnalia. V--. stays up all night to do drugs and sleeps all day. her dead boyfriend is haunting her, and her guardian angel wants to keep her alive. 

3. BRAND NEW GODS--adult science fiction novel, just a wee 4k words in. it’s the year 2099. bounty hunter orlando knox tries to hunt down a prophet called cassandra wyn and instead gets wrapped up in her techno-religion, only to find that their gods are lost souls who need saving.

4. HEAVEN BELONGS TO NO ONE--adult urban fantasy, 40k words into the first draft. this was my graduate-level thesis. (reviewed positively by emily st. john mandel! my crowning accomplishment!!!) iman and zach, a goddess and an angel reincarnated as humans, drink the liquefied flesh of apollo to become divine again and take over heaven. 

i’m really interested in following other people who write dark, contemporary fantasy, urban fantasy, and dark academia. bonus points if there are angels, gods, or demons involved. please like or reblog and i’ll check out your blog!

BATTLE THEME: YEHOSHUA

BATTLE INTRO:  “Disappointed? Yeah, I can tell... but I’ve got my reasons, and I do not think you will ever understand. Regardless, I’m going to tell you anyway.” Sigmund stood, though bloodied, battered, and bruised he may be, the soldier ignored the pain that wreaked havoc on his body. This was not the first time he came out of a battle so severely wounded.  “Do you know why I don’t go all out? You say you’re hiding your cards, you say I hide mine in return because I don’t want to show them to you -- but that is where your assumptions of me end. You think you’re playing a game of poker. You fight to win, but me? I’ve got a DIFFERENT problem.” 

     Sigmund charged, disappearing before the woman’s eyes as he appeared before her once more, pummeling her with his fists over and over. The shockwaves of his punches leveled the ground, uprooted trees, and sent wild gusts of wind flying before he sent her her flying through several treelines with a kick.

“Do you think I’m afraid of dying and losing to you? I’m a person who doesn’t have a single heartbeat in his own body. I died the day the Moon almost fell on this world. Unlike you, I do not have the same luxuries. I’m not afraid of losing, nor being proven better. I’m more afraid that I will hurt those around me, that if I lose control, SOMEONE could die. Yeah, I’ve lost a lot of people that way, because I hesitated, because I could not do anything. I can’t always be right!” 

“But YOU. You can take it, can’t you? So tell me, Zarina.....” 

“Have you EVER felt what it is like to be on a receiving end of a super-condensed nuclear blast that can collapse parts of the reality, and cause black holes as a result? Me neither, but you’re going to know.”   

VICTORY: “Leave you for the wolves? Do you think of me that heartless? I’m a Beast, but I’m a different Beast than you. You’re a Wolf, and I’m a Lion who unsheaths his claws when he has to. That is all there is to it. You’re not dying here.” 

DEFEAT:  “.....” 

ASSIST:  “Don’t act so coy. I will help you just this one time. Remember that we just share a common enemy.” 

TAUNT:  “Do you think I’m about to taunt you?” 

REACTING TO TAUNT:  “It’s going to take more than that to piss me off, Zarina. I’m not playing around anymore. Why? You already pissed me off long time ago.” 

FLEE:  No FLEEING

REACTING TO FLEE:  “Do not think you can get away from me, Zarina. I’ve already given you a chance to do so!” After loading a bullet into his gunblade, he pulled the trigger as he slammed its razor-sharp edge down to the ground. The superheated, miniature nuclear blast sent the air pressure upwards in a form of infernal storm of all-consuming spiral column of hellpyre. Before Zarina could get away, she was sucked in as he grabbed her by the throat. “We’re finishing this for real.” 

TIE:  No ties. It’s either a win or loss. 

PERFECT VICTORY: What perfect victory?

     The flash of blue lightning carved and burnt through the once lush greenery, filling the air with superheated ozone as the mana around Sigmund condensed, gathered, and manifested into the single point of his hand. As infinite heat and cold clashed against one another, another source of burning heat began to fill the air, his very own soul. It was like a blue meteor bathed in blue flames, forming and swirling in his hand as the very ancient words he whispered began to bleed into reality. The words of power, powers that shook the Valga to its very core, and once ruled it with its iron rule.

     For in ancient times, words were power.  

     The world around Sigmund thundered, skies turned grey, the very space around him began to crack and shatter at the very words he spoke as he took steps forward against Zarina’s ice, cold imprisonment that threatened to turn his very being into some sort of a popsicle. He could every bone in his body freezing, yet the heat he generated drove back and clashed against the woman’s infinite, eternal winter. However, this Sun was not ready to die just yet. 

     Sigmund’s eyes closed, then opened once more. 

“M̶̝̚a̴̪͗n̷̠͛ĩ̴̯f̶͖͂e̶͈̅s̵̟̿t̷̜͠, ye who art from the hate-scorched sky, Twist and turn in thine chains,  And open the gates of infinity! I call ‘pon thee, the one who tears Demons, and gnaws the flesh of the Gods:  CALADBOLG!”  

     Followed by an explosion, Sigmund lept forward, ignoring the below-freezing temperatures of infinite sub zero that attempted to destroy his body. Even if it broke him, he would drive himself forward, for he was such a man to do so. Even if it was suicidal, even if it took his life, he vowed for himself to stop her. If she was infinity, he would simply go beyond his own limit.

          Sigmund’s gunblade slammed against her body violently like a comet, and in a singular, powerful slash - the woman’s armor made of ice tore itself asunder against the force of the infinite number of weapons being rammed against her being from all the possible timelines into that EXACT same spot. His fingers froze, the air he breathe began to freeze, so much so that he could see his vision being frosted over. However, with the last pull of his trigger, the space around them exploded. 

     The air crackled, the singularity gave way against the heat and weight of Sigmund’s attack and formed a temporary blackhole before collapsing and converging in on itself. The result was an absolute devastation that could be seen for miles, a large, massive metropolis-sized crater and at the middle were two figures, collapsed on top of another.

yo what’s up, i’m siren. I play your local trash kids. in corner 1 we have flaming pile of trash, ZARINA. she’s small and angry. in corner 2 we have daisy garbage, RAPUNZEL, she’s sweet but can still kick your booty. and last but not least. IM baCK AT IT AGAIN WITH NUMBER 3. this is dash, you know him, you love him or hate him, but my god –– he’s the best and i’m tipsy so let us pray that this goes sorta well!! 

dash is the middle child, personality on the more annoying side of things as his siblings are a bit more... mellow? 

he’s always in the mood for a good laugh, i mean come on... it’s fucking dash parr for god sakes. so i really want this fool to be in tune with his prank like abilities. 

he’s into running. no shit. and is usually always on a morning run and also one right before bed. running is this kids life. 

but things aren’t always so sunny in the parr life. 

while he has the persona of a five year old and the mental capacity of a ten year old, he still has a lot of demons laying under the surface of his smiling face. 

for a long time he has dealt with being alone, always feeling sad when he in fact, is alone. when his friends leave, when his family goes to bed –– it’s something he’s not used to. 

so he pushes it away by cracking jokes and running.. obviously. 

so it goes without saying that when things get too emotionally involved, he dips. if it’s a wise ass joke or a trip in the opposite direction for a five mile run, this boy literally would rather do that than talk about feelings... because.

DASH DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO TALK ABOUT FEELINGS. 

so.. but he likes friends, running, sports, his family... memes.. vines. pranks.. that stupid shit because has the mental and responsibility level of a five year old. cheers. 

WANTED CONNECTIONS:

childhood buddies: this is clear. someone who was either close with just dash or all of the parr kiddos. 

probably an ex: clearly it didn’t go well because dash is a fucking child and he doesn’t know how to deal with emotions like a normal human and when things went bad, he kind of fled? he doesn’t mean to be a bad guy, he just doesn’t know how to respond to his own feelings, let alone anyone else’s. 

prank bud: someone who can fuck around with him from time to time? someone that knows all of his little twisted tricks when it comes to bother people because how else could he get the attention he wanted? 

running buddies: dash has never been one for using people then leaving them but he also has never been one to openly trust someone. this person has to be someone who can keep up with this speedy little fuck on his runs. this person is VERY close to dash. 

ride or die: this is dash’s best friend. someone he’s protective over, just like they were his family. anyone is up for this role, but they are super duper protective of one another. like no one can call them an idiot unless its each other. 

confidant: probably the most important one. dash doesn’t know how to talk about his feelings.. like literally at all. he can’t tell his siblings or his parents because he’s scared they would react in a way that would shut him down for good. so for now, he keeps smiling. but this person is the one he’d go to at 3 am and tell all his feelings too. this connection needs trust and honesty. basically like the promotion of a ride or die.

Hey! What TB characters would you use for the Friends intro? I was thorn between the OG gang (Tink, Fawn, Sil, Vid, Dessa and Ro) or mix the OG with the new, change some of them for Zarina, Peri or Terence

Ooh, there are a few ways you could go about it and that’s actually why I only made one of the little screencaps with the Friends font, because I couldn’t decide who besides Tinker Bell would get the spotlight!

I was thinking it should be the original 5 girls, ‘cause idk if it’s fair to put Vidia in there because she didn’t actually become their friend until halfway through the series. But to go in Friends style and have 3 guys and 3 girls, it would be like Terence, Bobble, Clank, Tink, Silvermist and Iridessa for example.

Or if you wanted to do it this way: the 6 main characters from all of the movies, which would be Tink, Terence, Vidia, Periwinkle, Zarina and Fawn...

Or just do more than 6, since it doesn’t have to match the actual Friends intro exactly. There are too many options!

‘backend’ is beginning as a series of events at four locations around the UK (Glasgow, Liverpool, Wakefield + London) about the lack of accountability specifically in artist-led organisations.

During the sessions we are looking at the logistics and processes of how artist-led organisations work - our “backends” - because they are important for systemic change as opposed to performing short term solutions. Through sharing practice, experiences and aspirations, together we aim to devise some sort of collaborative “code of conduct” that can be used as a public resource and to hold ourselves accountable.

The aim of the events is to get people who run and work with artist led organisations into a discussion to develop specific policies that they all collaboratively create, subscribe to and can therefore be held accountable to. We recognise that there is already lots of amazing institutional critique, research and work on institutional inclusion. It is not our intention to redesign the wheel but to draw on that research.

The events are led by facilitators and contributors whose research, work and experience are directly related to key issues in artist led organisations including inequality, structural racism, harassment, accessibility and transphobia. They lead discussion on actions that artist led orgs can be held accountable to, because outside of larger institutions, there are very few mechanisms to build this infrastructure. Cis, white, non-disabled people (who mostly dominate the artist led scene currently) need to be taking action rather than bystanding,  together using the privilege, power and platforms available to support structural changes in the artist led scene.

It is intrinsic to the success and sustainability of the project that it is fundamentally collectively and equally devised with all the organisations, contributors and facilitators that participate throughout the process and its outcomes are tangible and action based.

Funds to start up the project were initially obtained by 12ø ( who initially at the beginning of the project were three people who held white, cis, non-disabled privileges) these funds are used to cover fees for facilitators/contributors at each session who are already doing this work for systemic change as well as travel costs. This included an ACE grant and funds from ArtQuest to cover costs for 4 sessions. Paying 3+ contributors (£150 each) to lead the discussion at each session getting the ball rolling by sharing their experience, opinions and expertise as well as facilitating group discussion.
