How do you feel about Capheus and Zakia?

I still haven’t managed to get through the whole season because I have lots of assignments and it’s exam season, but from what I have watched she seems really cool and I’m glad he’s got someone he seems happy with!  

PLUS CAN I JUST SAY i am very happy she explicitly said she loves both men and women, and also that Capheus just accepted that as a normal like!! BI REPRESENTATION WHERE THE WOMAN ISNT DEMONISED OR SEXUALISED BECAUSE OF IT? YES PLEASE? I looove that, like that kind of thing is really important to me so it made me so happy 

i also just love the whole realization of Zakia’s world in general, like the contrast between her life and Capheus’ is really interesting and generally a show showing that not all places in Africa are ‘undeveloped’ and all those generally bad stereotypes is also really nice to see 

Like just her existence in general is great and anything and everything to do with Capheus being happy has my approval honestly

Ten Questions Writing Tag Meme

Thank you, @dreamywritingdragon, for the tag! This was a while ago (like, MONTHS ago, oops) but it took me a while to come up with the questions for the people I’m gonna tag so. Yeah. I enjoyed answering it though!

Who is your OTP for your current work?

Well in Veracity I dabbled in all the ships besides Zapheus (because I was focusing on Capheus’ relationship with someone else, an OC). Honestly I can’t pick one OTP for Sense8 because every ship is amazing and there’s no love triangles (but there is an OT3 and they’re amazing, just sayin’). Though my fic has more Blueski and Kalagang scenes just because these two ships are the most... should I say, dramatic? Angsty? You get the idea.

How many OCs do you have?

OH BOY. Not counting my original works, I have more than twenty, nine of which have quite important roles in the fic, three of which have very very important roles. In my original work (currently titled Untamed) I ended up with a shit ton of characters too. About 30 characters who are important enough for me to consider them mains. It’s gigantic and I haven’t even started writing it and I’m scareddddd.

If you could change one thing in a story you wrote/are writing?

Hmm. Maybe if I treated Veracity as a personal story instead of a fanfic I’m posting online regularly, I’d have cut a character or condensed characteristics into fewer OCs so it’s easier on my poor brain. But the thing I really wish I could’ve known before was grounding each scene in a character’s POV (I have this problem where I jump from one POV to another without realizing I’m doing it). This way the characters who got less “screen time” would’ve gotten more love and my fic would’ve been more whole, all around. 

Something to tell your past-self?

Perfection doesn’t exist in a story, and good writing is relative. Having something written is always better than nothing, and a shitty draft today may look like an okay draft tomorrow. There will be productive days and slow days, but the important thing is to never stop considering yourself as a writer. 

Also, a more general advice, things are always the most terrible at the moment you’re experiencing it (or, I suppose, the days right after, at least for me). You might feel like it’ll never get better - and it might not, it might stay as a permanent part of your life - but you will grow to accept it as part of your life, and the thing that upset you will dwindle in its destructiveness over time, and that is a noteworthy development too.

Something to tell your future-self?

If you ever feel like you can’t write something, remember that fucking 200k fic you wrote for Sense8. If pulled that shit off with relative success, given it’s your first fanfic, and you’re still alive today, maybe give yourself more credit?

Would you like to see a movie or tv show adaptation of your work?

Not my WIP at the moment, though if some of my OCs there make it into the actual show I’ll die happy (and also be super freaked out because that means the people working on Sense8 read my fic like AHHHH!). But when I get around to finishing up my original fantasy series I would LOVE to see a TV show adaptation, on the condition that they don’t whitewash my characters or change my original plot so much that it has a whole different feel.

What do you struggle most with as a writer?

I am an over-writer by nature and I struggle with keeping things “off camera”. By that, I mean I ramble, and I over-complicate most of my stories and that gives me anxiety because afterwards I don’t know how much to cut out, and I have a hard time cutting out scenes. Sometimes I’d revert to my 14 year old self and State the Obvious. That also goes for how many characters I put in, or how many subplots, or how many clues I leave as an author. Because in my mind it’s so easy to fit them all into my Grand Scheme of things. They’re all pawns. But they’re slowly seizing control from my cold dead hands. ARGH.

Which OC would you like to hang out for a day with? What would you do?

Ahh okay. I can’t pick among all my Veracity OCs so I’ll choose someone from my original series. I’d love to hang out with Raven for a day (and yes, she’s named after the animal). In a way she’s the version of me I want to be, but she also has a version of herself that she’s trying to become, and her idealism is a double-edged sword. (Mm, it would appear I’ve inception’d myself.) Plus she’s a mindmaster, meaning she can communicate telepathically and read thoughts and memories. I’d love to hang out with her in the middle of her arc because she goes through a hella character development that’ll turn her world upside down, and it’d be cool to get an outsider’s view on how she’s making sense of her world as it’s happening.

Share your favorite scene you’ve ever written. 

From chapter 3 of my Sense8 fanfic WIP, Veracity. One of my many favorites but the least spoilery one since it’s close to the start of the story.

In their shared consciousness, the drizzle turned into a storm. Her lips quivered and she drew back from the kiss, soft brown eyes brimming with tears. He felt a tightness in his own right hand before he realized she had clutched hers into a fist, and pressed it against his palm. She gritted her teeth so hard, he felt a slight crackle under all the pressure.

When he looked at her again, there was lightning in her eyes.

“Kala,” he breathed, hoping to drown out the tempest that had taken over.

Kala’s gaze softened at the sound of her name, and when they locked eyes again she smiled, her warmth pouring over him like sunshine. But gray clouds hovered near the periphery of their minds. She put a hand on the side of his face and traced circles on his cheekbone with her thumb.

“Wolfgang,” she said, voice quivering, “I’m not ready to say goodbye.”

I think Capheus and Zakia's ship name is Zapheus? That's the one I see the most. I think Zakeus would be cool too tbh. Sun and Mun I've seen as Sunmun but idk I always thought it should be like using Kwon-Ho/Gwon-Ho because that's his first name so Swon? Kwun? Kwon-Sun? Sunho? idk what do u think lol

Zapheus seems really nice for Zakia x Capheus but I don’t know about Sun & Mun. Whichever way you put it, It’s gonna end up being one of their names and the other alternatives seem so complicated. I may start tagging ‘Character x Character’ instead of ship names to not complicate things lol.
