kaoru kanzaki sees you every day in the hallway. he doesn’t think you’ve ever noticed him but that doesn’t stop him from looking. you always seem lost in your own world flipping through notes or walking with your friends laughing at something he’ll never know about. it’s not like he’s obsessed or anything but sometimes he wonders what it would be like to talk to you even just once.

today he finds you sitting alone. you’re completely focused on a manga and for a second he just stares. then he realizes what you’re reading. his favorite manga.

his heart speeds up and before he can stop himself he’s looking at you way too obviously.

then you look up.

he freezes.

you smile at him.

his brain stops working entirely.

“you like this manga?” you ask tilting it slightly like an invitation.

he swallows. “yeah i do” and then it’s over for him because suddenly he’s talking and he can’t stop. the plot the foreshadowing the way the protagonist’s development is set up from the very beginning. he doesn’t even know if you care but he can’t help it because this is his favorite and it’s rare to find someone who might actually get it.

then he realizes how much he’s said and immediately regrets everything.

“sorry” he mumbles “i probably just talked your ear off”

but you just grin. “don’t be sorry” you say and then you start rambling too.

kaoru swears his heart almost gives out.

you get it. you actually get it.

he listens completely absorbed nodding along as you go on about your favorite scenes and characters.

he thinks this might be the best conversation he’s ever had.

I started to read phantom busters yersterday and I LOVE IT the chapters i read was so funny!! And well....i was reading and then i was like..hmm..ehy just not shipp them all? And..thats it :v i was bored and decided to draw them

phantom busters blue exorcist au cause i can't stop thinking about it, here's what i have so far (a bit long):

Mogari is a knight and a nephilim (the shishikunos probably got involved with demons to become powerful quickly, and only those in the main family are born with demon blood)

The Shishikunos are probably affiliated with the illuminati

Mogari and Korekishi's meeting goes about the same, with Korekishi getting a temptaint in the process and deciding to sign up to become an exorcist

Korekishi definitely goes for a double meister as a doctor and aria, does really well as an exwire despite having zero experience, and is everyone's favorite student

Both Zaki and Tamon were born with the ability to see demons without needing a temptaint (this is not lore accurate to blue exorcist but idc lol)

Zaki is a dragoon, he sucks at any of the other meisters but makes up for it by being a Really good shot

I have no idea why he would want to become an exorcist, I think he possibly saw it as a chance to defend himself against the scary stuff he was seeing as a kid (and also it would be like being a cool manga character)

Tamon is a tamer duh, demons are his best friends and he lowkey feels bad about doing exorcisms

Refused to become an exwire until one of the demons he was friends(? with turned on him, basically just as it happened in the manga with angel

Korekishi would inspire him to try and become an aria as well after a while

Yotsuya is just a regular student (as well as the rest of the student council), and she for the life of her can't figure out why korekishi hangs out with the other three

There's a bunch of details that i haven't decided on yet but this was eating at my brain and i needed to put it out there

something about zaki and tamon having the exact opposite experience with their spiritual powers gets me ngl

zaki saw ghosts as a curse and something that only got him hurt by alienating him from everyone else while tamon, even though he still felt disconnected from living people, found solace in his friendship with ghosts and thought of them as the only way to have the "normal life" experience (like his date with angel in his introduction chapter)

these guys make me so sad thank you phantom busters for solving things through the power of friendship
