How would you describe their personality?

Zafyna's personality is largely based around desperation. The things she's desperate for usually manifest in different ways such as a need for security, for accomplishment, for power. She comes from nothing and any foothold she's ever gotten just disintegrates and leaves her worse off (Naadja's attention, her sister's presence, the Duskryn's support) it all fills her with a hope that is quickly lost and all that's left is the space it used to occupy. So she desperately grabs at whatever she can to fill it again.

What brings your character joy?

I'd say academia but on a larger scale she likes to have purpose and importance. It's why she was such an adept soldier in the Mizzrym ranks that she earned her name. It's also why she committed herself to being an assassin.

What does your character strongly dislike?

Any type of self pitying behaviour. Zafyna definitely has a “pull yourself up by the bootstraps” mentality. Because she managed to crawl her way out of misery once she expects that anyone can. And of course this hinders her because she's constantly berating herself for not being able to do it again lol. 

Is your OC scared of anything?

Abandonment. Zafyna hates relying on others because they always seem to leave. But she's not confident enough in herself to be completely self-sufficient. It puts her in a difficult position of always needing others but never trusting them

What is their alignment?

Lawful Evil. She doesn't take any joy in causing harm to others, it's just necessary work. She does get satisfaction from being praised for the work she does but she aligns herself with an evil Goddess and society

Naadja cannot swim lol she was correctly under the impression there was evil lurking under the waters of her home. She likes running water and hotsprings she just never learned swimming (also where her fear of krakens stems from)

Naadja:

You gotta take these all with a grain of sand because she was raised dysfunctionally so these traits are all pretty standard in her upbringing BUT

Neither of them prioritize family. Zafyna had been influenced by the Duskryns because they had said she'd be like a daughter to them if she brought Naadja home but that was very clearly a lie. They both prefer the company of trusted individuals, never blood family

😖 CONFOUNDED FACE — is your oc an introvert, an extrovert, or an ambivert? do they let people in easily, or are they more reserved?

Naadja is a complete extrovert she loves attention and idle chatter. She lets almost anyone into her circle but that doesn't mean they're trusted friends

Zafyna is a total introvert and incredibly reserved

Im a fake fan lmao i do not know dnd holidays SO speaking on behalf of modern holidays, Zafyna would definitely be a Halloween fan

After leaving the underdark and swearing she'd kill Naady she also got blasted by the sun. She brought a whole team of assassins and looked really amateur so she (at night) went to a nearby village and commissioned enchanted spectacles (sunglasses) she wore for the majority of her hunt

Also she was offered A LOT of money to sleep with someone bc she's a very unique looking drow. She declined.

My girl is an absolute gym rat she's constantly exercising and training

Very… dedicated lol that goes without saying

I'm not sure just how much I've yapped about Naadja so hopefully these facts are new to you all lol but:

Naadja has very high CON which prevents her from getting wasted but for a time pre-game she was a functioning alcoholic. The only reason she really stopped was because she wasn't getting access to alcohol that could actually affect her while she was on the run. Her favourite drink is green wine. Once she got to last light inn she spent the nights drinking herself into a stupor so the tadfools had to step in and stage a well-meaning intervention (this is also when they insisted she bathe more)

She prefers to eat surface food even though it makes her sick because she sees it as a status symbol but her regular tastes are pretty bland

Naadja enjoys textile art (i've talked about her embroidery before) she also likes weaving

Zafyna:

Originally I'd put a rose tattoo on Zafyna’s neck, i think im gonna retcon it rn though lol it's a brand from her time in the black pits.

Zafyna has a medical proficiency! Seeing as she's a healer (very funny, in hindsight) it makes sense she'd have a medical background. It just happens that her knowledge of anatomy comes from her history of torturing darthiir. 

Zafyna was far more interested in the studies surrounding demonic summoning, she's a pretty cautious and astute scholar but she did do a whoopsie and got herself possessed. No one noticed what was happening for like, a week they just thought her silently standing around and looming was normal. Then she started crawling backwards on all fours And it raised some alarms

Naadja was born in the Duskryn compound in Menzoberranzan. Once bg3 ends i hc she usurps her mother's place and becomes the matriarch of house Duskryn. She looks at it with disdain which is why the first thing she does is basically gut the place of any reminders of her past and fills it with what she wants instead.

Zafyna was orphaned so she has no actual answer for her beginnings, only that she was in the fighting pits for most of her childhood and barracks as she grew older. She no longer lives in those conditions, she becomes the Mistress of Arach Tinilith instead. Her childhood left a very bitter taste in her mouth, she doesn't like to think on it

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 — How many people are in your oc's immediate family? How many people are in your oc's extended family? do they have aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc? Who in their family are they closest with? Are they close with their birth family, or do they have a found family?

Naadja has a deceased twin so we can technically count them as a sibling but aside from that she has her brother, mother, and a sort of paternal figure so 3-4 however you wanna look at it. Then she has aunts, and a cousin who is a drider. There's a pretty significant amount of extended family as well as just the general population of her house.

She is not close with her birth family, they sought to severing that connection themselves. Naadja hates her mother more than anyone else.

She's incredibly close with the tadfools and of course her diabolicule. Not all of them get along with her but they're bonded regardless.

And Zafyna had three “sisters” none of which she was actually related to. Each of them left her for varying reasons until she was completely on her own. It's why she joined the ranks of house Mizzrym and eventually made a name for herself on the battlefield
