Thanks to you and this wonderful blog , im super super super into Hiromu Takahashi!!! Your blog really highlights his crazy antics and awesome wrestling. I just really LOVE his shenanigans with ospreay
aww, that’s so great!! i’m glad you’ve really grown to love him, i do too!! (hence all the reblogs, i guess, lol, but that might have something to do with the fact that i follow so many lij blogs because theyre my fav faction in njpw) and omg, yes, his feud with ospreay at the moment has been absolutely amazing.

How obnoxious is sombra? does she play pranks on you constantly?
Reaper put his face in a palm. “VERY. DAY AND NIGHT, A TV WILL TURN ON OR AN ALARM WILL SOUND. AND WHO’S JOB IS IT TO CHECK IT OUT? MINE. SHE’S CONSTANTLY INTERRUPTING MY WORK. If we had anyone else who could do what she does, I wouldn’t have kept her around this long.”

Who do you think should win the iwgp heavyweight belt from okada? And who do you think is the worst choice?
hmmm...i mean, there’s a good handful of people that i wouldnt be upset over winning, but if i had to choose one person, it’d probably be naito. i know, i know, it’s the generic choice, but at this point, with all the story behind it, it’s the most satisfying one (in my opinion). for some wild card choices i also wouldn’t mind seeing omega or ibushi, but i don’t think it’d make sense in the story at the moment given that they’re really caught up in the whole bc drama and not really the title picture. tanahashi as well, maybe, but he’s still so broken down and running at 50% at best; i want him to take more time off (or feud with, like, yano for a while, lol).
worst choice...i mean, obviously this would be someone fuckin’ random like taichi, lol. but if we’re looking at the realistic options, if zsj wins the cup and beats okada i’d be piiiissed (altho, on second thought, i don’t think even that’s very realistic, ahahahah). oh, and i just remembered cody exists, so cody. definitely cody.

What do you think wwe should do with Ambrose once he returns???
my heart says feud with seth rollins, because seth vs dean is one of my fav feuds of all time. both of them are at their best when they’re with each other. i’ve seen some people suggest that dean should turn heel on seth when he returns, which would be cool and fresh, and i think if seth rollins is ever going to become the fleshed-out babyface wwe want him to be, heel dean ambrose will be the one to draw it out of him.
my brain says...hmm, probably turn him heel, because, like i said above, it’d be something new. wwe have so many mediocre to average heels tho and so few good babyfaces, and dean has always been one of their most consistently good faces. i also don’t know how good he’d work as a heel, because wwe don’t like their heels to do anything too ‘edgy’ and especially not the guys who are well-liked by girls and kids and sell a lot of merch (like ambrose is...this is also why i dont think heel finn balor will work at all in wwe, but thats a whole other post, lol). so...i dont know. i’d love to see him go for the heavyweight belt...oh, and ever since their surprisingly good match at fastlane a few years back, i’ve really wanted to see him have a proper, fleshed-out feud with triple h.

1: Favorite current male wrestler?
Ooooh...hmm. Probably Kenny, Naito, or Hiromu. I don’t feel like any of them have had any great matches that really live up to how awesome they can be lately though...all three had great WK matches, but I feel like I’ve seen better from all three (Kenny and Hiromu kind of suffered from their matches being kind of gimmick-y, and I liked Naito and Okada’s past matches more than their WK one). Kenny has been doing more dramatic stuff with the BC lately, Naito and YOSHI-HASHI were never going to put on a classic (their match was actually better than I expected though, lol), and I still have mixed feelings on Hiromu vs Ospreay. In terms of who I love to watch actually wrestle the most though, it’s gotta be Naito. His wrestling is magical; he can do a simple arm drag and make it look so good and smooth yet powerful that I’m still fucking impressed, lol. Everything he does looks good.
4: Favorite all time female wrestler?
Bull Nakano. She’s a fucking amazing wrestler and an absolute badass. Plus, as a chubby girl and one who’s style definitely skews more towards the weird and punk-y, her look totally inspires me (basically, I wanna be her, lol). Manami Toyota, Akira Hokuto and Megumi Kudo are very, very close though. I’ll also always have a soft spot for Lita, Trish and Victoria (I wanted to be Lita as a kid and I kind of still do, and I had the biggest crush on Victoria).
17: Best championship design?
I loooove the IWGP Heavyweight title design. It’s very classic and grand looking. The WWWA World Single Championship was really nice, too. Also - and I’ve had a lot of people disagree with me on this one - I like the modern Cruiserweight title. It’s cool and unique looking, and the purple strap is subtle enough that it doesn’t look like a fruit roll-up like the Universal title, but is still noticeable and offsets the silver nicely.
23: Worst gimmick?
Ugh, I hate the Bludgeon Brothers gimmick right now. Why not just leave them as they were as Harper and Rowan? Why turn them into a shitty knock-off 80s tag team? And if you wanted a shitty knock-off 80s team so bad, why not use the Ascension? Ugh, I just...idk. WWE, right. Worst gimmick of all time has gotta be Bastion Booger, [del Rio voice] but you already knew that. I also can’t stand Jinder’s heel foreigner thing because it’s just so overused, but it’s not so bad now that he’s not the world champion. Oh, and does YOSHI-HASHI have a gimmick? Or is that just how he is? Because it’s not really working for him, lol.
I’m also really not a fan of...idk what you call it...’meta’ gimmicks, I guess. Where guys are always using insider terms. You know...the Young Bucks’ gimmick, lol. I would hate Kenny for doing it too if he didn’t make up for it, in my eyes, by being such a great wrestler and great character in wrestling, hahah.

I find it very weird that tanahashi is treated like the old veteran who's past his prime. Like every new up-and-comer who feuds with him always goes, "Your time is up, my time is now". But its completely different for Suzuki. Eventhough hes older than tanashi. Like no one dares go for the 'new gen vs old gen ' schtick with him. I find it hilarious?
lol, i guess it’s probably because not only has tanahashi been around for ages, but he’s also been the top guy in njpw for ages, while suzuki has been all over the place and has never really be the ace like tana was/is. like, goldust has been in wwe for longer than john cena but nobody wants to push him out of his spot like they do with cena because goldust has been a midcarder for that whole time. plus, suzuki is legit as hell and scary as fuck. if i had to choose between calling him or tana an old man, i’d definitely choose tana, lol.

Do you think Kenny will be fired from bullet club? Cuz it kinda looks like it. Kinda feels like Cody is taking over??
hmmmmmmmm......it definitely feels like theyre leading towards that, and i could see it happening. i guess it all depends on how much faith njpw have in cody, and the prospects of a bullet club without kenny (who is far more popular in japan than cody and pretty much everyone else in bc in japan). bullet club is, after all, still one of their most popular factions and i dont think theyd want to risk slaughtering it by replacing one of their most popular guys with someone the crowd hasnt fully warmed to. that being said, they may well be willing to risk it, given they have the massive popularity of los ingobernables de japon to fall back on now...
if they do end up kicking out kenny, i dont think he’ll go alone. it’s been said a lot, but i could definitely see the elite splitting off to become their own separate entity and feuding with the bc for a while. kenny, the bucks, marty, chase owens maybe, vs cody, the tongas, fale, yujiro. that would be the obvious guess for where this whole bc inner tensions thing seems to be going. personally, though, i’m not sure if njpw would pull the trigger on it completely. the bucks + marty aren’t as full time with njpw as guys like fale and the tongas are, and factions are such a cornerstone of njpw’s booking and shows that i’m not sure if a faction made up almost entirely of part time guys would work...and i, for one, dont want to see kenny tagging with chase owens for the next few years, hahaha. that’s just my personal thoughts though...if there’s one thing gedo is good at, it’s factions; i’m sure he could make it work.
so, tl;dr: probably. shake the magic njpw 8-ball, and all signs point to yes. whether it’ll be permanent, or just a short term civil war type storyline, however? i’m not sure.
on another, semi-related and more of a personal opinion note, i honestly think, if given another year or two and more matches/time with njpw, marty would make a wayyy better bc leader than cody. he connected way more with the njpw crowd in his debut match than cody (and i don’t hate cody as much as some) and still does, and he just seems to...fit better, i guess? but that’s just my personal opinion. he reminds me of omega when he was in the jnr division back in ‘14/’15.

what are your thoughts on Kenny as the champ ???
hmmmm. well, in all honesty, i havent actually watched that much njpw since he became champ. nothing to do with him being champ, life just got hectic as hell, lol. i think him winning the title was good because they had to pull the trigger on him at some point. i maaaaybe would have liked to see someone else take the title off okada but i dont think they really had the time to build someone other than kenny up to it adequately, and i think they wanted to get the title off okada before the g1. the match was amazing, of course.i dont think he should have had cody as his first defence, but i wasnt surprised that it was him. it was a u.s. show and njpw's booking in regards to their u.s. expansion has been...odd, to say the least. he had some amazing matches during the g1, of course. i think now that the g1 is over, though, is when he's really going to have to prove himself as a champion going into wrestle kingdom. we'll see, i guess. ask me post-wrestle kingdom and my tune may have changed, lol. :p

What's the deal with Elgin? Is it an inside joke, is he a garbage wrestler or does he actually really suck as a person???
ohohohoho, no joke. he’s been known for attitude problems in the past, especially in regards to considering himself better than he actually is, but it’s all really come to light recently after a woman came forward and accused one of his (elgin’s) students/wrestlers for his promotion of sexually assaulting her. lots of drama went down following this (i dont know if you use twitter, but i used to and wrestling twitter is drama central hahaha) but to make a long story short a bunch of dms from michael elgin were leaked which were pretty awful and really rude to the woman in question, and a whole conversation where he talked shit about jeff cobb, who was his tag partner in njpw for the world tag league at the time. if you want to know all the details, it’s been pretty well documented by dirtsheet sites, so a quick google will help out. but that’s the gist of it.

marty was somewhat of a jealous jeremy in that match. guess thats his motivation to side with cody in this bc civil war thing
i think that’s what makes this whole bc breakdown interesting to watch, that there’s so many varying motivations for everyone involved. like, while cody is just a straight up dick to kenny now, marty still likes kenny and doesnt what to fight him, but doesn’t like kota (jealousyyyy). and then it’s different again for the bucks, and different again for the tongans. it’s super cool and interesting.

I don't know why but I'm very optimistic of Chase Owens after that six man tag match. He's bland but an okay wrestler... he's like corn flakes
i feel the same way, pretty much. he’s not putting on five star classic, but he’s not bad. i enjoy him as the ‘just happy to be here’ guy in the bullet club bubble (i say that because at this point theres no, like, ‘bullet club’, its like five different little groups of people hahahah). he does what he’s supposed to. he works well with the golden lovers, which is a sentence i never would have imagined i would be saying this time a year ago, hahahah.

What's your all time favourite finisher??? And if it's used by countless wrestlers, who did it best??
i love the kudo driver, and of course the og hardcore queen megumi kudo herself did it best. its one of those moves that i rarely see anyone else see do as well as she did it. i also really like manami toyota’s japanese ocean cyclone suplex (and her victory star drop, lol, if you hadnt guessed from my user). i also really like strikes (knee strikes, especially; kenny omega’s are beautiful) but nobody really uses those as finishers anymore. :(

Did ya enjoy the royal rumble? Imo the smackdown tag match was a bit underwhelming. The whole show was neat though
i really enjoyed it! thank you for asking! tbh i think all the non-rumble matches kinda fell flat, but i always feel that way about matches on rumble cards that arent actually rumbles. with a few exceptions, of course, but most of the time the crowd is only there for the rumbles and the rumbles are the center of the show, so any other matches just arent given any real importance. though, i don't really see that as a bad thing; i only watch it for the rumble myself, lol. anyway, i thought the men's match was fun (i cried when rey mysterio came back!!! and laughed my ass off at hurricane) but i wish they had more surprise/nostalgia entrants. i really think they need to make it a 40-man rumble with how big the roster is now. so happy shinsuke won!! (i wore my shinsuke shirt in celebration today, hahahah). and the women's match was amazing. wwe totally blew my expectations out of the water. pretty much everything about it, from the structure of the match to the entrants, was perfect. it should be held up as an example of what a good rumble should look like, imo. i was pissed off initially at the nonsense that went down following the rumble, but at the end of the day, asuka won and the women looked awesome and that's what i wanna focus on.
