The last word Information to Setting up a MotoVlog Welcome into the motovlogging guide. This informative article is for any person thinking about producing motorcycle video clips on YouTube. It doesn’t subject for those who’re just beginning and only want to make a few films for pleasurable or if it’s one thing you would like to take more very seriously, you’ll locate lots of facts listed here on ways to get heading, what tools to purchase and my major guidelines which have assisted me Develop my channel. Below we go!
What on earth is Motovlogging? Vlogging is video running a blog, and moto-vlogging is vlogging about bikes. In essence, it’s just An additional method of film generation, but with shorter shorter videos determined by stories advised from a motorcyclist’s standpoint.
They can be on everything bike connected from vacation to mechanics or niche biking subjects. There’s a little something for everyone as us bike fanatics can enjoy and take a look at bikes all day lengthy!
youtube
Why start off MotoVlogging? I only bought into this industry 4 years in the past when I purchased my Honda Dominator.
There are so many distinct ways to making movies, but in my scenario, for the last two a long time I have lived and breathed YouTube. I love film producing and dedicate almost all of my time and energy to it. I choose to recuperate at what I do And that i’ve normally been this way with everything I’m passionate about.
But, that’s not to convey you need to be all in to make it happen, nor do you want the most effective and most recent tools both. Anybody having a phone can make a start. I built my initially European journey series with one action digicam and edited it on my iPhone!
If you want to choose it additional significantly and make a dwelling out of creating motorcycle films for YouTube, then that’s if you’ll have to dedicate your full daily life to it. It’s the hardest position I’ve at any time had.
So, the very first thing to contemplate is what you want to receive out of this journey. For me, I desire to assistance myself and my spouse and children purely from producing movies and videos – and see the world when carrying out it.
Your explanations could be distinctive, so to aid you determine exactly where to start out, how you can setup your devices and produce video clips, in this article’s what you need to know…
Getting ready and Scheduling Your MotoVlogs Target audience You’ll hear quite a bit of folks saying ‘figure out who your target market is’. And while that might be excellent tips, why Restrict on your own? Concentrate on Everybody! I want all of my movies for being satisfying and entertaining for everyone seeing. If I get bored for only one next, I’ll re-edit. So don’t get worried too much about who your viewers is, focus more on making fantastic material than any person would observe.
Do your very own issue I’m just a standard male on an previous motorcycle that virtually anyone who wants to ride can afford. I don’t do crazy things, in its place it’s the journey that issues to me. I really like seeing things, likely spots and I don’t mind the overwhelmed path. I’m a tourist who reveals persons my perspective.
So, take into consideration what you want to try and do and go from there. Don’t stress about Competitiveness possibly. I don’t believe in it. Individuals just want to look at videos and might’t get adequate. There’s extra need than source. I personally like viewing YouTube and check out every one of the YouTubers my viewers watch plus much more – virtually just about anything. Every single creator is inspiring and unique and that’s what’s so good relating to this platform. There’s area for everyone.
Branding I’m Marc and I journey – Marc Travels. Uncomplicated. Keep it basic and noticeable and people will don't forget it. Anyone has social media presently and it’s very simple to set up a brand new account on your model identify.
As for Web-sites, I just set mine up with WordPress, that is cost-free. You should utilize drag and fall builders like Wix much too if you prefer. But none of that really issues for YouTube though…
If you wish to be successful on YouTube, just make the most effective movies it is possible to plus the algorithm will do The remainder. Don’t waste excessive time on another stuff. Think up a reputation and start out with all your YouTube channel.
MotoVlogging Set up: Cameras, Equipment and Products MotoVlogging gear Much like within the workshop, only buy the resources you'll need whenever you need them. It’s the same with motovlogging.
It normally relies on the reason and Whatever you’re carrying out. I would like modest, lightweight equipment that’s user friendly and access, but simultaneously, state-of-the-artwork. As an example, not everyone will require a drone, but I do because it’s vital for my video clips.
What’s the best motion digicam for MotoVlogging? The last word Guide on MotoVlogging - Building Motorcycle Video clips for YouTube GoPro, DJI, Insta360: they all make good stuff. And I use all in their cameras as Every have their own distinct purposes in my movies. Picking out an action digital camera for motovlogging is a really private final decision because it fully depends on what you would like to try and do with it. For instance, I don’t use a true 360 degree digital camera for the reason that I don’t require it. I usually understand what I desire to shoot and concentrate on that shot specifically, but other people swear by it.
In either case, it’s wonderful staying a creator these days as the technologies obtainable is so Innovative and provides you the liberty to become as Imaginative as you can. And that’s what actually matters – not what gear you’re utilizing.
So, start with something basic or perhaps a camera you’re cozy employing and as you development and when you choose you should upgrade, then get it done then.
My favorite camera is my 4 12 months previous DJI Osmo motion digital camera – and I prefer that to any GoPro. I think it’s however the top action cam out there. But, as outlined in advance of, they’re all adequate to movie vlogs and it doesn’t seriously issue which brand you select.

Spotlight: RCA RPC100
I put up a long post on snooze buttons yesterday, and I needed to include a photo of an RCA alarm clock, but I couldn't remember the model number. (It was RP5620 if you're curious.) So I Googled RCA alarm clocks and scrolled through the images, trying to find it. And then I saw this little guy and was like "OH MY GOSH!!! I REMEMBER THAT ONE!!!"
This little guy is the RCA RPC100, and though I had completely forgotten it existed, I remember that in the past, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. And having refreshed myself on how it works...I still do! It's an amazing combo of intuitive design and clever features. And I'm going to tell you about it today!
Tumblr media
Great design...
Some alarm clocks just utterly fail at being easy to use. Maybe the manufacturer tries their darndest, but the thing just has too many buttons and display icons and people get overwhelmed, no matter how specific the instruction manual is. (I feel like a lot of Sony clocks fall into this trap, though I still love them so.) Or maybe the manufacturer doesn't try at all and the clock is just utterly nonsensical. (The Zenith Z250 is a great example.)
In contrast, the RCA RPC100 is almost a model of simplicity. Hmmm...I wonder how you set the clock. Well, I see a "Set" switch, and there's a clock icon I could slide it to. Okay. And then maybe I press the "Reverse" and "Forward" buttons to change the time. And then maybe I slide the switch back. Is it that easy? Yes, it is!
Another example...setting the alarm. I wonder if that "Set" switch has an alarm position. Oh wait, it does! With a little bell, you know, like an alarm. And then maybe I use those same "Reverse" and "Forward" buttons to set the alarm time. But how do I turn the alarm on...oh, wait, is that what the "Wake Mode" switch is for? And I slide it to the bell for a buzzer alarm, or the music note for a radio alarm? Yes!
A third example...playing the radio. I'll bet that "Radio On" button turns the radio on. Wild stuff. And do "Reverse" and "Forward" change the radio station? Hmmm, they don't. But I see two giant dials on the right side, are those...yes! They're the "Tuning" and "Volume" dials! And there's a "Band" switch on the left! And do I turn the radio off by pressing "Off"? Why yes, I do!
Tumblr media
I'm being a little goofy, but seriously, how easy is this to use? There's no holding buttons down to enter different modes. You just slide the obvious "Set" and "Wake Mode" switches to do what you need to do. There's no "Hour" and "Minute" buttons that only adjust time forward rather than backward. You've got easy "Reverse" and "Forward" buttons instead. And the most important buttons for the time, alarm, and radio are placed right on the front of the clock, and emphasized by the (groovy) two-tone design that separates the glossy black display from the metallic silver controls below it.
It's especially interesting, because this clock actually has more controls, kind of all over! It has "Snooze," "Sleep," and "Nap" buttons on the top. And it's got buttons and dials on both the left and right sides, as shown below. There's even a few switches on the bottom! But by splitting the controls into different regions and putting the most frequently used ones in the most prominent place, RCA tricks you into thinking this clock doesn't have many controls. Which makes it seem easy to use, and thankfully, it actually is!
One last usability detail that's not about controls: RCA includes a small secondary display to the right of the clock display that shows the alarm time, or reads "OFF" when the alarm is off. That way, there's never any confusion about when the alarm is set to, or if it's actually on or off!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And great features!
The simple, straightforward controls of this clock would make you think that it's fairly no-frills. But it's not. IT HAS ALL THE FRILLS. And I love that about it!!!
First, this clock has the battery-backup-based auto time set system I explained in my second post on this blog. Basically, the RPC100 comes preinstalled with batteries, and if you were to buy it now, it would have been keeping the current time since it left the factory. When you take it out of the box, you slide the "Time Zone" and "Daylight Saving Time" switches to the right positions (see the photo at the end of this post), and the correct time pops up as soon as you plug it in! (Unless the batteries died during transit.)
Second, this clock has analog radio tuning with a digital frequency display, which I also previously explained on this blog. The gist is that there's an analog dial to tune the radio, but unlike typical analog tuning that has a dial scale or physical indicator of the radio station, the RPC100 shows an estimate of the radio frequency on the clock display. (You can see that happening in the first photo of this post!)
Third, in addition to playing AM/FM radio, this clock also has an aux-in jack, so you can connect an MP3 player or cell phone and listen to your own music! The manual suggests this clock launched in 2008, and this would have been a handy feature in the days of iPods without built-in speakers. The aux-in jack is on the back of the clock, toward the right (see the photo at the bottom of the post). (One weird tangent is that I think there may be two models of this clock, one called RPC100 without the aux-in jack, and one called RPC100-A with the aux-in jack. But I could be wrong!)
Fourth, this clock has a nap timer, which is what the "Nap" button on the top is for. I haven't explained nap timers before, but they're so useful. Let's say it's 1 PM and you want to nap for half an hour. Normally, you'd need to do mental math (ew) and decide you need to get up at 1:30, then change your alarm time to 1:30, then remember to change it back to 8 AM (or whatever) before you go to sleep that night. Instead, with the RPC100's nap timer, you press the "Nap" button repeatedly until the clock display shows 30 minutes. Then you nap, the clock counts down for 30 minutes and wakes you up with the buzzer, and your alarm time is the same as it ever was. So neat! There are many alarm clocks with nap timers, particularly ones from GE, RCA, and Sony, but it's still delightful to see it here.
Fifth, the buzzer alarm on this clock has a feature called "Grad-U-Wake," which increases the volume of the beeping sound gradually, to balance not scaring you but still being loud enough to wake you!
Sixth, I discussed yesterday how this clock has a feature called "SmartSnooze." When you want to snooze the alarm, you can just whack any button on top of the clock. Even if you hit "Sleep" or "Nap" instead of "Snooze," the clock will still know you want to snooze, and will act accordingly!
(By the way, I remember someone online pointing out the absurdity of clocks with "snooze," "sleep," and "nap" buttons, which all mean basically the same thing, but all do totally different things. The "sleep" button is for sleep timers, which I explain here.)
Seventh, this clock has a display brightness control (also called a display dimmer). That's not unusual in and of itself. Most clocks have that, so you can make the display bright enough to see but dim enough to let you sleep. Most clocks have a digital control for brightness that lets you choose between a few (usually three) preset brightness levels. But what if all those presets are too bright or too dark? The RPC100 solves this by including an analog dial for display brightness, so you can choose your perfect brightness from an infinite selection between the two ends of the dial. (You can see the dial in the image above of the clock's left side.) This is a pretty rare feature! Only a few clocks, like the Sony ICF-C492, have it too.
Eighth and finally, this clock has a built-in night light! So whether you want your room pitch-black-dark or totally illuminated, the RPC100 has got you covered. The night light is amber and located underneath the silver panel with the buttons, and you can see it glowing in the second image of this post. (You can also see the amber strip of the light in the image below!) The "Light" switch on the left side of the clock lets you turn the light on or off, or set it to "Auto." In "Auto," it lights up when the alarm is sounding, and you can whack the snooze button to turn it on for five seconds (like if you need to quickly grab something off your nightstand). Brilliant!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Isn't this thing great?
I love this clock so much. It looks so unassuming and archetypal, like the epitome of "alarm clock." And it leans into its archetypal design with intuitive, straightforward controls that I hope tempted potential buyers. But then this clock surprises you with all kinds of clever and unusual features, ensuring that even if your goal was to buy a boring, basic alarm clock, you're still going to be delightfully surprised by how this thing makes your life the tiniest bit easier!
I'm very glad I got to bring this clock to your attention today. Here's one more photo of it to close us out:

The Suzuki 50th Anniversary RM Graphic Kits Offer Retro Cool
Retro isn’t just a trend— motorcross is truly embracing the retro vibe. Yamaha kicked things off last year with a line of throwback dirt bikes that had me feeling like a kid again, reminiscent of my first motocross machine decked out in similar vintage graphics. But Suzuki upped the ante. In celebration of 50 years of motocross domination, Suzuki’s RM-Z250 and RM-Z450 models are now available…
