Today national women’s day has been a whirlwind. I so meant to post early and to celebrate all of you with image and words. I had such a great shot in my mind's eye. But like so many of you wonderful women out there, omg my day ran away with me. Before I opened my eyes I was already running behind. Every layer of my life went off the rails. Fighting kids, an overwhelmed technologically challenged husband with a printer issue and a deadline. A wheelchair with a stuck toy in the wheel just as the handy bus pulls up. All the while my phone will not stop, a broken hood fan, the dairy is late and we are out if cream, my trunk, frozen shut and it's my day to do the deliveries. Did I mention my dog got out and I had to catch her in my nightshirt? I have four kids and every doctor in my life called to book an appointment today before 8 am? So went the day I had scheduled so very carefully, hijacked and I just an unwilling passenger before 8:30 am. So for you women out there who get this post. Those women trying to be a mother, wife, daughter, friend, responsible pet owner all well having a Career. I want to say Bravo!!! Good on you for taking a big bite out of life, knowing you are going to get juice on your face. A women life can be messy and always on the day, you can least afford it. But the truth is it's ok. Only a woman could juggle all these balls and end up smiling. That quite knowing deep down, ”it's all worth it”. Women day is over in most of the world by the time I post this but, after my day, better late than never. Heads high ladies, it's a privilege to be a woman. We are a wonder each of us, a force to be reconded with. So it's a total Calgary day, started with snowing Charlie Brown snowflakes in the early am. Then the dark sky's that threatened buckets if precipitation at around 8 is. Then sunshine and spring-like weather that makes me believe I can still get my bulbs in. I just Love CALGARY weather. I also do have a solid favourite pie. It is our #sourcherrypie this is always on our menu and always a top seller. The reason is the blend of your bush cherries that we bring in from a co-op of farmers in Saskatchewan and now Alberta. It's the blend of these sweet-tart cherries wrapped in our all-butter crust that makes this pie a winner every time.
