Our family doesn’t really do gifts at Christmas. We all have what we need and we all understand that we would rather not waste money and meaning on something none of us need. One year we all pitched in $20 and wrote down our favourite charity on a piece of paper and drew it out of a hat. One year we have done a gift exchange but the rule was that it had to be something you made, and other years we have done a $20 max and the gift had to be something you can use.
