A Van Plan

So it's March. I can't believe it's already here and we're now one year away from when I'll be going full time in a van with Fynn and Yvevy. I've been doing almost non-stop research and have landed on a van, a build, a loose travel plan, and hopes for remote work down the road soon! I'm going to go with a Chevy City Express van, I'm going with Vanlab for my build, and my mapped out locations are below.

I want to spend six months in each state, March to September and then September to March. I've attempted to cover the us on all sides, and follow close to moderate (70°F ish) around the year. I'm excited to collect drivers licenses and tattoos. I'm eager to try new foods and cultures.

As far as Life currently, we've been spending a lot of time in the state park:

We've explored the camp grounds extensively and walked on the beach countless times. We've experienced rain, snow, and sunshine. I've heard more birds than ever before in my life. I've seen bald eagles, herons, seagulls, and so much more. I've made friends with people that see me for who I am and want to be. That already support and lift me up. I've made lovers I will remember for the rest of my days. I've ate more sushi than should probably be consumed in one month. I've talked on the phone with more people than I ever did before. I've written dozens of letters and sent packages and gifts. I've received letters, cards, and even a zine. February showed me a lot and I'm so eager to see what March has in store.

Birch Bay

My first impression of Birch Bay was quaint beach town in the off season. I found most people just want to help, most people hate the government, and most people just wanna mind their own business and be left alone. Controversly in Denver people don't have time to help, want to change the government, and usually people want your time and money when you're just trying to get groceries. This change in environment and energy has been exactly what I needed.

Now let's talk Tiny Home Living. I'm quickly realizing that the stuff I have stored away is just stuff and I might be downsizing even FURTHER before the end of my stay in this tiny house. I'm excited to announce I'll be continuing my journey with tiny living for my next stint in Bellingham, four months in a tiny "dry" cabin. More on this later, though. Some things I miss about living in an apartment in the city-not much. Honestly though, it's been a breeze keeping things clean, it's been nice not having a lot of space to even dirty in the first place, it's nice having everything accessable and close at all times, and you have to be efficient with your organizing which makes my Tetris loving brain happy as a clam. I do miss grocery pricing and options in the city. Being limited and expensive out here in the country is not ideal for saving money. But hey, I'm not eating out anymore either so maybe it's saving more than I realize.

The animals have been doing great in the small space as well. Fynn and I get out for long walks and I'm on the way to training yvevy to be out on a leash as well soon! They haven't had any issue being closer together, if anything it's helped them bond more! So far I'm loving living tiny, needed the reset of country livin', and can't wait to explore more of the area!
