Love is in the air

Valentines was slightly a mess for her... especially with all the Roses around she was not having a good time walking around that day... mostly avoiding the festivities but one text on her phone put a warm smile on her face.

"I have a surprise for you, how about you meet me after class at my room."

Akio... at least she knew that he would probably have a way to get her a break from all these people trying to court her or get her attention... and so she made her way to his dorm for now, in hope to escape these messes.

Knocking at his room she was surprised to find him casually sitting down reading with an iced tea but before him was a whole set of Chocolate fondue and fruits... she sighed.

"You know how much I can't resist sweets, did you have to torture me as well? I avoided gifted Chocolates enough."

"I felt you need it given how stressful you seemed today... sit down for now."

She gave him a small smile but went quick into a blush as he took one of the strawberries, dipped it in to the chocolate and scooted next to her, taking her chin as if to feed her.

"Y-you don't need to. I c-can eat them myself."

"Oh? Your face says something else however, Ruby. Let me spoil you today, my love."

She pouted a little before opening her mouth, her cheeks felt warm as he held them a small satisfied noise escaping her mouth.

"Alright... I... can't thank you enough... just each year this day is just... I can tell them that I am taken and in a relationship and still they try that hard with things that.... bring up bad memories."

She rested her head on his shoulder. Her wings fluttered lightly hiding her red face.

"You can always lean onto me and tell me I don't mind it... I can be your safe haven."

"I love you so much..."

Even if she was still emberassed she accepted him feeding her more, making small chirp noises at each bite... at least now she could be happy about one thing this day. She rather stay here than deal with the troubles outside.

Valentines was stressfull enough given all the host work but at least after all that Asuna brought him to a party to get some rest, yet given it was still public he couldn't really settle down and just be himself... she meant well but still there was hardly a reason for him to enjoy this... so he stood in a corner, taking a drink and watched the people... predictable and dull.... many of them he was sure about how this night ends for them... these two would go up and endulge in things... the others will end their friendship over a man... he seen many times how ugly this world can be... how boring.

Yet among this dull lifeless crowd something catched his eye... something familiar... bright pink... crystaline eyes... he has seen her before.

Celestine was to him more of the oddity in this room... someone he couldn't predict this easy which made him curious even more. However as his curious gaze fell onto her she returned it... her expression didn't change but he felt her gaze piercing him.. he was called closer to talk to her. So he stood next to her and continued his drink.

"You don't seem like someone who belongs in this atmosphere."

"Do I have to?"

"Not at all. But its still good to meet some different people for once."

"..."

They didn't continue to talk much but they still looked at another as if trying to decipher the other and analyse them... sure his um could be usefull but that be too easy for him.. but before he could stradegize how to approach her... Asuna already swept in and put an arm around his shoulder.

"Yuzu, bestie, you need to try this- Oh did you find a new friend?"

"*sigh* Asu... this is not the right time..."

Celestine slowly walked up but showed one last gaze at him... even if her expression didn't change... he felt something softer about her... as if she knew he wasn't bad... maybe thanks to Asuna... still he sighed.

"Listen I like you bestie but... you really need to read the room more."

"My bad... maybe you will see her again."

"Yeah... maybe."

Royalty au

Once upon a time there was a prince of a Kingdom that was only covered in Night... many adored Prince Flynn and fell for his charisma and attitude however he only used the people who had some value of him and anyone who wanted to trick him got their life ruined in a few days... however he had his morals and people who deserved his wrath and those who he sparred and made his underlings. However that ball night that should decide for him a potential partner to rule the kingdom with him one day was for once not as boring as he expected... a sudden scream of a woman falling down from the top floor of the ball room landing flat on the ground put everyone to silence... the woman, a princess from the neighbouring kingdom, her throat slit, so she was killed instead of falling down. The masses panicked, Flynn however used the commotion to follow the cloaked suspicious figure on the upper floor... knowing his ways around the castle.

Eventually he caught up to it... yet hearing the guards he pinned them around the corner to the wall and covered their mouth... as the guards dissapeared he tried to lift the hood from the figure but as they tried to stab him he stabbed back.

"I would recognize those eyes anywhere, I am glad you are back my dear Crimson Murderer."

"Urgh of course I had to run into the bloodstained prince again."

"Bloodstained? Do you really believe in silly rumors, I thought you were part of assassins who wanted to bring justice to this kingdom."

She sighed in annoyance glaring at him.

"You may not be my target but... I know you are not as shining as you make yourself to be to the crowd."

However she did not anticipate him stealing that knife out of her hands and be pulled around the waist close to him.

"You say that like you didn't just murder a higher standing noble. But I don't care if you judge me... I still want you to think of the offer i made you."

"I won't ever give up my life for someone like you if I can't even trust you... you should throw away your delusions."

He chuckled and let her go.

"And what if... I tread the same bloody path as you and come with you.~"

"Are you an Idiot?"

He used the knife surprising her by cutting into his finger and smirked.

"Maybe... maybe I am a love fool but... I want to prove to you how sincere I am... that and this princely duty bores me to death... I rather start new."

What choice would she make... she knew he was gonna do something reckless and follow her either way but... kidnapping a prince would bring her to the gallows. Yet... she also knew it was useless to just kill him as well when he might have Valuable information.

"Just follow and don't say anything you Moron."

"As you wish, my dear.~"

"Only know... one day might be the day I stab this dagger into your heart."

"And I will gladly accept it."

She scoffed at his response turning silent before moving on.

Always the perfect daughter, always the perfect representative for the kingdom, this burden was placed upon Celestine but even then, she endured it... even if people called her a doll, a puppet for their own use to gain more influence... yet despite this empty purpose of a life there was one thing for continuing for... often times a young poor boy snuck into the castle to steal some bread since he was young and as she cought him once she often gave him food in return for him bringing items outside the castle... and so Yuzuha and Celestine became friends... however... one day the shock caught up to her.

She just thought it was a simple court meeting where some random criminal was judged for his crimes but... as she saw who walked in she didn't want to believe it. It was Yuzuha... he seemed much more worn down, his face was beat up, his body injured... he seemed more like a victim than a criminal... as one of the judges recited his crimes.

"Manslaugther of 5 people, including his own brother, unknown murder weapon... their faces were burnt off."

He saw her look at him and avoided his face... something was off for sure but... would she speak up... she would ruin everything...

Later in the prison cell however she asked her servants if she was able to talk to him.

"Tell me what really happened."

"...."

"Yuzuha please.... I know you are not capabl-"

"What do you know... all you know is what I told you... you never really been outside her... only manipulated to not see the outside world how could you understand-"

As he grew louder he felt her suddenly hold his hand as he calmed down... this wasn't right, they were friends, he wanted to push her away and give up his life, solely to make things easier on him but... it was only fair to tell her.

"My brother... he became a dark magician and... it ended in this tradegy... nobody would believe me and I don't care if you do either but... this is my truth."

"I believe you... I read enough about magical contracts to know it could be possible... but-"

"You can't help me... its over for me. But-"

He took something from behind his back and handed it into her hand... it was a small music box with a pink flower on it.

"Yuzuha..."

"It was the last gift i could give you... I am not afraid of losing my life but... promise me you stop just listening to others... and actually do something on your own... alright."

"But if you are gone... what reason to live have I then?"

He leaned forward giving her a small kiss before leaning back.

"You can keep me in memory. Life on for me. This world was useless to me but maybe you can give me the hope in the afterlife. "

This was the first time the emotionless facade, the tough shell of her broke... to see her friend moments before his own excecution still only think of her... not only that... that he cared that much... how was she supposed to stop this...

( SECRET ) arriving where they both agreed to meet in secret in the dead of night.

He sighed in annoyance about all the messes this dorm was again.. Ferdinand tried to calm him but he needed a break.. eventually Rouge was the one giving him a hint that someone dropped a note on his desk... a location and a time... from the handwriting he knew right away who it was and grabbed his small bag escaping through the window in hopes to not be questioned where he was going.

The moon was bright... making him think back to his brother befor trying to ignore the pain and press on to the forrests... eventually seeing Venomia stand at a small lake looking back at him.

"You made it. I am glad to see you."

He noticed her hold her head and walked close putting his arms around her.

"Still headaches... maybe my old trick can help."

"No its all good Fennec... its enough you stay with me for a while."

He nodded and sat down with her on a tree log.... she leaned her head and body against him a little to settle down and showed a small smile resting as he gently placed a kiss on her head.

"You can always lean onto me... after all... you are the reason I... didn't just dismiss this world and move on. "

He looked back at the lake, the small shimmer of the moon light, the pretty flowers around it before looking back at her.

"Its beautifull."

"I am still unsure what you are thinking but... I am gratefull to have you as well."

"Maybe I should show you then."

He sat down more upright and pulled her close for a kiss... soft and tender... it felt like the first time he was on that island back in the dimension he met his friends... the wonder of it. As she leaned back accepting it it felt like her head cleared up more... was this part of his icarian magic as well.

"Thank you Fennec, I feel much better... I was happy you took your time."

"Anything is better than the noise in that dorm...."

"But you do care about your dorm mates, right?"

"I ... do even if I hate to admit it."

They both held hands looking back at the lake and chatted... he did need someone to listen and some quieter atmosphere.... he made her the promise to be there for her each time he can but similarly... she kept this promise the other way around as well... and without the clue of their dorm mates... they made this their secret hideout to keep to another.

He didn't really get why he had to be here... just an overly fancy party where he seemed like a worm compared to the others... he hated many of the guests... just thinking high and mighty looking at his gloomy face in dismay... however he came here to make fun of those very same people where he could... but also because at least to this lame RSA party he could invite someone... he did choose to ask Celestine to come so at least someone will listen to his annoyances or distract him but... he didn't expect her to distract him that much seeing her come in... this pretty pink dress... the calm gaze... sure she looked as monotone as usual but this was how he liked her. With a smirk he took her hand.

"You know you don't have to play the perfect girl to go with me here... you could have just come in a sweater and I liked you all the same."

"I best not risk it, you know I have to keep my image as much as I do."

"True that... then how about one dance before we spend some time alone away from the others."

She nodded and followed his steps... many looked at the unsual pair... some knew how infamous Yuzuha is, others were in awe how Celestines dress looked as the two followed through...

Just for Yuzuha to after the dance pull her away to a corner where nobody could see her cause he blocked the view and lean closer.

"You really can't hold back, Yuzu... you had to show them off."

"I need to prove these rich morons I am worth as much as them but... well there was another thing I didn't want to share with them."

"That would be?"

As she asked him she felt him lean closer to kiss her, slightly licking her lower lip leaving a playfull bite as she looked at him not budging in her reaction.

"Still nothing... hmm guess I have to go stronger but for now I am satisfied enough."

"Your trying really hard to prove I am not just a doll without emotions?"

"I just want to see what I can get out of you, after all you know I am not the most predictable person either."

"Before I met you, you hated the world really."

Yuzuha smirked still cupping her cheek.

"It became a little more entertaining... but you are right in that regard... I like sharing stories with you but I would be curious to how deep your feelings and thoughts go... so I just keep continueing to stick around you."

She nodded and took both his hands.. maybe it was good nobody could see her among the crowd... it was far more quiet and soothing thanks to that.
