A queer & disabled (ignoring the 2nd season) magical girl or "Hero" as the story calls them, she's good with computers and is well liked by her peers. She tries to destroy the world to keep her friends from suffering and clearly has some trauma she forgot about, she has a homoerotic relationship with her old friend Nogi (Sonoko) and a crush on her best friend Yuuna, she's goofy and passionate and dedicated to her beliefs and ideals. She loves her country and once pretended to be a masked vigilante even though her identity was super obvious. She loves baking and will trick her friends into behaving by bribing them with sweets.

oh! okie!!

um imma start with nogi bc she wasn't included in my initial ramble, her full name is nogi sonoko (last name first name) and her and tougou met alongside another girl named gin in the tail end of their elementary school years when they were picked to be a hero team, nogi was picked due to her families connection to the taisha, which are the people who watch over the worship of the shinju (world tree) which is sort of a collection of gods as one entity referred to as shinju-sama usually. both nogi and tougou were picked due to their connection to the taisha, while from my current understanding (i could be wrong here) gin was picked due to her having noble qualities that would make for a good hero. nogi is, as ive referred to her in the past, a ditzy genius, being extremely smart but also kinda airheaded, she's particularly noted as having a tendency to daydream, which her parents allow after she proved that despite her daydreaming she was still well aware of her surroundings. nogi is along with tougou one of the most developed characters, the other ones being fuu and karin but we aren't talking about them rn, nogi is usually classified as a comic relief character, dressing up in funny outfits and playing with things like her cat pillow which she brings practically everywhere (it's also a hand puppet!) but her true greatness shines during things like her and tougou's, at the time washio sumi (called waashi by nogi) final battle together as a duo, where she went mankai TWENTY TIMES losing most of her bodily functions and becoming hospitalized as a result (fun fact! one of the first things she lost function in was her heart!) she did all this for tougou even when she (tougou) forgot her! then she told tougou the truth of the shinju and the vertexes even when tougou still didn't remember her! also her and tougou's dynamic is so cute and silly <3 her dynamic with the rest of the Hero Club is also so good i especially love her dynamic with yuuna

I think you'd really like Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero!, especially if you liked Madoka Magica. It's a dark magical girl show in the same vein, but swap out "Faustian bargains" for "classical Japanese mythology".

It's best going in unspoiled, but a couple things you might want to know before you watch:

Yuuki Yuuna has a lot of cutesy slice of life moments. This is deliberate. It's horror movie pacing, and the show uses it to make sure the gut punches you get later feel earned. It might not seem as immediately fucked up as, like, Berzerk, but keep watching. I promise it gets emotionally brutal.

Yuuki Yuuna has three seasons. The first season is a twelve-episode standalone story. The second is split into two six-episode stories: the Washio Sumi chapter and the Hero chapter. The third season is kind of an anthology show, trying to mix together a couple of short stories set in this universe that were originally told as light novels.

I'd strongly encourage you to watch the TV release of the second season and not the recap movies- the pacing in the TV version is better. I'd also encourage you to watch the recap episode in between Washio Sumi chapter and Hero Chapter- usually you want to skip those, but this one's really well done and shows you the first season's story from a different narrative perspective.

There's a spinoff 4koma anime that exists to promote the gacha. It's better than it has any right to be and makes a good palate cleanser.

What other really dark and fucked up animes there are beside Devilman, Madoka Magica, The Promised Neverland (first season was so good and the manga was entertaining, although it did lose it's darkness) and Made in Abyss? Berzerk is still on my watch list for this very reason, and I need to watch Devilman Lady, but anything else?

I have no triggers and content warnings are more like invitations for me, so no need to worry if something is "too much" for me.

I'm looking for really messed stuff that no one would usually recommend for anyone. Not really any well-known stuff, well-known classics or Shonen Jump stuff where the messed up stuff is some psychological little mind game as a side note, or lots of blood (I'm fine with blood but a series being bloody is not messed up for me).

Webcomics are also welcomed! Like Korean web comic Papi Nyang.
