New Fic: The Long Way Home

Summary: Captain Carol Freeman’s first mission since her promotion out of the California class is to track down her missing security officer and deliver a cell's worth of well-known Maquis renegades to the Federation. Instead, she finds herself on the wrong side of the galaxy with a mismatched crew that includes an untrustworthy (and distrustful) new commander, an engineer with a malfunctioning implant, an eager-to-please ensign, and a convicted criminal who happens to also be her own daughter. Seventy thousand lightyears away from everything they’ve ever known, Captain Freeman and her new crew must learn to work together to find home.
