【⠀♱⠀】 AUTHOR’S NOTE. originally i was gonna add smut into this. mostly because i know fluff isn’t given as much attention & because i’ve been wanting to write smut for yuki. however, while writing, i noticed it would have not fit here. like at all. of course i still could have tried but it would have felt forced. anywho! this is a fic for the girls that fall for their best friends, hope you recover cause i sure haven’t <\3! as always please excuse grammatical mistakes & errors.
Tumblr media
Intimacy was funny when it came to women. A girl could kiss her friend on the cheek, cuddle with her, and maybe even see her naked; but never feel a thing. Some women, were able to hold such a connection without lust or romantic love tainting it.
But, this wasn’t always the case. Some had the misfortune of allowing that model connection to falter. The touches didn’t always seem as innocent, the comfortable atmosphere left whenever one withdrew their clothes, and the gazes no longer held that friendly warmth, but instead.. longing.
Yuki Tsukumo had believed she was immune to it all. That she, would never, fall for her best friend. That her love would never reach a romantic level.
She thought she was immune. Really, she did.
But as time passed, the woman began to see the signs she’s displayed to lovers in the past. The way you would breach her thoughts every single day, how your smiles would melt any sadness out of her body, or even how she would grow hot from even the most lightest touch on her skin.
Yuki Tsukumo had fallen for her best friend, you— and she didn’t have a clue on what to do about it.
Days were blurring together, passing far too quickly without an answer entering her mind. She was going mad, stressed that you would somehow find out about her sin. What would you do then? Would you hate her? Would the friendship the two of you formed go down the drain in an instant?
“I say, ruin it.” Gojo Satoru’s words were blunt, overshadowing the reasonable advice Geto was previously spewing. His dimples were deep, blue eyes gleaming with mischief as he stared at the blonde-haired woman who could only stare back. “You only have one shot Yuki and it’s gonna blow up either way,” He hummed, shrugging as if the answer that she had been searching for was obvious.
“So I say, screw it. Ruin your friendship.”
Those words stuck with her since that day. Was Yuki fully prepared to do such a thing? Once she did, there was no going back. Nothing could change the fact you would know the love she held for you was not like the one she held for Gojo and the others.
That the love she held for you, was far from innocent.
“Okay, you have to really listen to these lyrics for the next one,” Your words cut through her current train of thought, her chocolate gaze flowing from the ceiling and over to you. Air was fleeting each time Yuki looked at you, it was embarrassing really. You didn’t have to do a thing and she was starstruck, unable to think or breath. So while your lips moved, she didn’t hear a thing you were saying.
You blinked slowly, noticing the spaced out look in her eyes. “Yuki? Are you listening?” The smile you held was gentle, placing the device in your hand on the pillow beside you. You then reached over, hand finding her shoulder to gently shake.
That was enough to steal her away from her thoughts again, eyes focusing onto yours fully. Her hand rose, tapping against your wrist. “You uh.. said something about me paying attention to the lyrics?” Yuki forced a smile, cheeks tinted a soft pink as she watched your lips screw in playful annoyance. Oh, how she loved when you did that. All that movement caused her eyes to focus right on your mouth— the softness, how a hint of gloss was almost always staining them.
Yuki couldn’t help wondering how they would feel on her own. Would the gloss melt between the friction of the kiss? Would stickiness taint her chin? A soft breath escaped her, forcing her mind to shut off such thoughts.
And yet you were oblivious as always; hand lifting away from her and back to your phone. “Yes! You have to focus when it comes to Mitski songs. She’s, a lyrical genius.” You smiled, babbling about an artist you’ve loved for quite some time. It was entertaining watching you in such a state, and even more so when you would force Yuki to listen to songs or albums— only to talk about the meanings behind them afterwards.
Yuki chuckled softly, turning to lay on her side upon your bed. “I’ll pay attention.” She soothed, watching you come to lay down— facing her. The promise she had made just a second ago seemed to leave the moment her eyes rested upon your face, however.
You were completely relaxed; eyes closed and softly humming to the music that escaped your speaker just a feet away. What was the song’s name again? Yuki couldn’t remember, not with the dilemma running through her head.
In times like this, Yuki felt it all began to bubble; her feelings, her thoughts about you, and much more— all ready to overfill and spill right before you. Restraint was withering with each pass of her eyes over your form, and oh— a tight breath escaped the moment she heard you softly sing along to the song.
Maybe Gojo was right, maybe she should ruin it all.
“[Name]..” The words were sudden, a soft tone hugging them; a contrast to how the woman usually spoke. Your eyes fluttered open the moment your name was spoken into the peaceful atmosphere. They widened, however, as you recognized a serious glint in her gaze.
You slowly sat up, hand pressing against the bed to steady yourself. “Is something wrong?” You asked sweetly, watching as she rose from her previous position as well. “Do you not like the song?” You urged again, fearful you had upset your best friend in some way or another.
Despite your inquiries, Yuki was silent. Completely. Another trait that you believed she wasn’t capable of. Instead she moved suddenly; hand rising and ghosting over your form before finally settling onto your cheek. You weren’t given a moment to breathe, to react, before she moved again— eliminating the distance between you in a single moment.
Your eyes widened, body stilling as the unfamiliar feeling of her lips covering your own warped your being. They were soft, yet unsteady; fear clearly treading within the blonde-haired woman before you. Her hand was clammy too, yet firm against your chubby sun-kissed cheek.
Silence passed through the room for what seemed like forever before Yuki moved away, feeling her heart fall to the pit of her stomach. She’s ruined it, finally— she has. But the rush of fear wasn’t faltering anytime soon. On the contrary it increased the moment Yuki looked at you.
Your expression was unreadable, lips agape and gaze lost completely. You continued to sit as still as a statue, clearly still surprised.
The false sense of courage was escaping her body slowly now, hand rising from your cheek carefully. But to her own surprise and happiness; you quickly took her wrist to halt her movements. Once you achieved that, your hand rose to cup the back of her own, putting it right back on its previous spot.
You moved closer, light finally shining back into your eyes as you stared at her. “Kiss me again.” You spoke on hushed breath, eyelids already lowering before she could move.
Fortunately, Yuki didn’t need to be told twice; closing the distance with more enthusiasm then before. Her lips no longer moved against yours in hesitation or uncertainty— because the answer was clear now.
You loved her, just as much as she did you. And ruining the friendship, was definitely the right thing to do.
Yuki would have to thank Gojo later.

Mistletoe Hung Where You Can(t) See
You stood right next to the door frame that you didn't know had the mistletoe right above your head. All your other friends, Nobara, Yuji, Megumi, Yuta, Maki, and several others along with your old teacher were on the furniture in Gojo's living room, telling jokes and stories as each hour passed by. (The party started at 4:30 for that exact purpose.)
Soon enough midnight was about to roll around, and nobody seemed to be ready to leave yet. But, he is who he is, and Gojo demanded that everybody find a partner (if you didn't have one, then just kiss your hand) and kiss next to every mistletoe in his mansion. You, on the other hand, had no idea he'd placed that mistletoe on the door frame you were standing at since he knew that's where you liked to stand during hangouts since being in too close proximity of a bunch of people was not at all your thing.
As you were about to take a sip of your hot chocolate, you felt another presence standing right next to you. Yuki Tsukumo, one of the few people besides you, Nanami, Shoko and Maki that wasn't wearing a god-awful Christmas sweater. You glanced over to the side and noticed that she was in grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt. You didn't know how she wasn't freezing since it was basically Sub Zero outside, and even with the fire and the hot chocolate, the wet cold air still clung to your body.
"Good evening, Yuki." You said quietly before taking a sip from the red mug in your hand. You did like the color red, but not during Christmas time. And Gojo hid every single mug in his house and replaced the normal ones with Christmas themed mugs to drive everyone who went over here crazy.
The blonde haired woman looked over at you with a smile. "Evening, Y/n. I see you aren't with the others." You rolled your eyes at her statement, "Good observation." You grunted, earning a chuckle from her. While everybody was scrambling to find a partner to kiss around the mistletoe, you enjoyed your peace and quiet here by yourself, even with Yuki standing right next to you. Though you wouldn't really call it peace and quiet, the Christmas music blasting through the house was almost giving you a headache.
You took another sip after blowing on the beverage. "I didn't really think you're the type of person to go to Christmas parties?" Yuki asked, now with her back leaning against the door frame. You shifted your gaze over to her. "I always go, it's just this is probably your first year that you're here for Christmas in Tokyo." You said while setting the mug in your two hands. She chuckled, folding her arms. "Shush. I like taking breaks, too." She said, smiling. Rolling your eyes, "That break just so happens to be every year on Christmas." You took another sip. She lifted a brow and smiled before tilting her head lower. "And why does it matter to you?" She asked in almost a teasing tone. You frowned before turning to her with your back against the door frame as well.
"It doesn't matter much to me. Just like seeing a friend here for Christmas." You mumbled before partially hiding your face behind the mug. Yuki took the time to glance upwards and notice the mistletoe with a smile. You didn't notice as you were busy staring at the floating marshmallows in your drink.
"Your cheeks are red," She pointed out, staring at your tinted cheeks. You frowned as you felt your cheeks heat up even more. "It's because of this damn hot chocolate." You grunted in response. She chuckled again before slightly leaning closer to you. "Yeah right. I'll bet you anything it's not." She teased. You lifted a brow, "What other reason would it be, then?" You shot back, slightly raising your voice. She perked up her eyebrows playfully and shuffled her hands in her pockets. You huffed before looking back at the happy crowd in the living room. Everybody smiling, laughing (well, mostly everybody) and then there was just you.
Standing with your old high school crush.
She chuckled before replying, "Will I ever know before this night ends?" Both of you giggled after that. You glanced over at the living room to find Gojo standing on a table and clapping his hands.
"Alright, everybody! Midnight's just a minute awayyy! Hope everybody found their partners!"
"Gojo, you literally don't have one!"
"SHUTUP!"
You and Yuki both chuckled again at his reaction. "You got a partner?" She asked, turning back to you. You looked at her. "Pfft. I'm standing here alone with you. Do you think I have one?" You snickered before taking a sip from the mug. She chuckled before shrugging. "Never judge a book by its cover." She answered. You looked at her with a judging look, "Who even says that anymore? You nerd." You shook your head before taking yet another sip. You thought that Gojo could never cook for his own life but his homemade hot chocolate was one of the few exceptions.
Yuki took a pause for a minute.
"...I was wondering if I could be a suggestion for kissing under the mistletoe." She said quietly, flush painting her cheeks a deep shade of red. You looked over at her before most of everybody cheered and started making out near every mistletoe.
"What?" You questioned, looking up at the mistletoe before Yuki leaned closer, snaking her hand up to your neck and slotting her lips against yours. Your eyes widened at the contact and you almost dropped the mug. You were careful to set the mug down on a nearby table and not break contact with her.
You finally shut your eyes and wrapped your arms around her neck while her hands slid down to your waist, pulling you closer.
A few minutes later after everybody stopped sucking face, they all turned to you and Yuki still making out under the mistletoe.
"Hah! Would ya' look at that! Y/n finally got to kiss her high school crush after all!" Gojo chirped, pointing his finger at you. A moment later, you and Yuki both pulled away for air.
"You had a crush on me in high school?" She asked with a smile, resting her forehead against yours. You scoffed then chuckled, "Shut up. I just thought you were cute." You smiled before going back in for another kiss.
Everybody else in the room clapped and you and her. With a soft huff, Yuki pulled away for more air.
"Personally, I think we could move on from just high school crushes."

Putting their hands on you when they come in from the cold
Tumblr media
Toji absolutely knows what he's doing. If you get startled he starts cackling like a damn maniac and running his hands over the back of your neck and stomach (he says cause they're the warmest 😓). He's not gonna stop till his hands are as warm as you are, So good luck 🤐
Geto would come up behind you and put his freezing hands on your face without saying anything bc he's a menace to society. If you swat his hands away he just has this innocent smile on his face like he didn't just nearly give you a heart attack 😭. "You can do it to me, I don't mind." The most annoying part? He really doesn't mind.
As she arrives from a long overseas trip, You and Yuki lock eyes when she steps into the house and she's immediately sprinting at u and laying down them hands when she gets ahold of you 💀. The best thing you can do is NOT humor her, please put on a poker face cause her she thinks it's so funny. your neighbors probably can't stand y'all fr
Choso doesn't even realize his hands are freezing till he does it, And when he sees you jump he feels like he's looking at a kicked puppy omg. He's refusing to initiate any kind of contact with you after that until he's sure you don't hate him 😭 but dw he bounces back quick (and does it again oops)
Gojo would put his cold ass hands under your shirt while you're focusing on something and then start looking around like he's innocent so annoying . He's like "Who did it bae I'll look with u" what's even worse is that u can't even get him back cause he has his infinity on 😑
Yes Shoko does it on accident, no she doesn't feel that bad about it. She'll walk up to you and cradle your face (so sweet) and she doesn't realize what she did till you recoil, but she thinks it's kinda funny 🤭 She'll laugh off your protests and apologize but she still does it every time...

Jujutsu Kaisen: Gojo Satoru X Reader (Rothschild-Shiba Y/n)
(Chains Series)
Tumblr media
[To delay the forthcoming.]
[Notes & Warnings: mentions of human experiments, curse technique of the Shiba Clan, angst, fluff by the end. Word Count: 1.8k]
Moratorium
Tumblr media
I.
"I've heard you've been looking for me?" You sip from the tea without looking at your guest.
"It's hard to have a piece of your time, not to mention the barriers around the Shiba Estate make it hard even for me to find the right way." The woman with blond hair and thin brows sheltering her brown eyes smiled amicably despite your cold reception.
"Why don't you take it that I have no intentions of meeting you? Tsukumo-senpai."
"How cold, and yet you still let me in." Yuki laughed and followed your gaze. On the meadows are children of the Shiba clan playing with their kites.
"What do you want?"
"Why are your tea black and mine green?" Yuki hums and searches for your eyes. "Just a speculation, but that is not just tea. Am I right? Shiba-kun?"
You've never disliked Yuki, and at the same time, you never liked her as well. Years ago... You were there listening to her and Suguru's conversation. And for a period of the time hated her guts for suggesting those words to Suguru. But as years passed, the hate waned. Those things are unavoidable and even if Yuki never said those words Suguru would still defect, with his initial belief already wavering. It was already just a matter of time.
"Black tea is good for the heart... Don't mince words with me Senpai. Spit out what you want to talk about."
"How cold. Shiba Clan is the home of many mysterious sorcerers. No one knew where they came from or when did they join the jujutsu clans. To be honest I had a hard time finding out information about Shiba Clan with minuscule information recorded about their history. However, I stumbled upon a strange thing."
Perhaps you should've thought twice before letting Yuki inside the Estate. Neither affirming nor denying any of her words you let her continue without looking in her eyes.
"None of them died in any mission. And none of their remains could be found. They all died in silence."
"That's not strange, we cremate our kin." I should find those papers and burn them. You thought.
"But there are several of them who were injured. All those who tried to help the injured Shiba died on spot from touching their drops of blood. Was it from an infectious disease? Impossible, even for a virus it would take an hour or a day before dying. A binding vow? That kills any person who touches a Shiba. Possible but there was no curse energy left in the bodies of the deceased. But poison... It would explain why all sorcerers from the Shiba clan mastered the reverse curse technique. That is to keep themselves alive despite the poison coursing in their veins."
"Then? It sounds interesting, why don't you continue?" You smirked but not an ounce of amusement in your voice.
"My deduction is that the Shiba clan sorcerers have contracts embedded in their bodies that cannot be revealed to outsiders. No one from Shiba Clan died in the eyes of the public and they were cremated to protect this secret. That poisonous blood is also one of the defense mechanisms of your body to protect your secret. What do you think?"
"Excellent hypothesis, however, insufficient and baseless. How can you explain these so-called contracts you mentioned?"
Yuki's eyes wandered to the plaque on the hall.
"Say Shiba-kun, you've been titled as the Asura in the jujutsu society, based on your temper and strength in the missions. Asuras are half-demons and yet they worship one god. The Auspicious One—Maheshvara... Your clan venerates him. The name of your clan is honored to him as well, Shiba... and Shiva. As for the contracts, it's just a guess, but to attain cursed energy, Shiba sorcerers make a pact with the asuras. As for what that price is, I wasn't sure but you confirmed it for me earlier."
"Do tell," you sighed. Indeed it was a mistake to let her in. You should've let the guard dogs chase her down the mountain. If only you never regarded her safety...
"Your heart... Or perhaps, even your soul." Yuki took a sip from her tea, her throat a little parched from talking.
"Do you know, that by finding out all of this, I will have to silence you?" Narrowed eyes stare at Yuki's calm face.
"Don't get me wrong Shiba-kun, I'm a researcher, not a gossiper. Rest assured only I know all of this and as you say all of those are baseless."
"What do you want from my clan?" You can't let her continue digging up more. Yuki is a special grade, and if your father finds out about this, you will also have to do the job of cleaning up. The clashing of two special grades is already large damage, but you cannot let it happen. Yuki is still integral to the jujutsu society. And she shares the same perspective with you—dissatisfaction with the jujutsu administration. At some point, she would be useful to the rotten society of jujutsu.
"If you can attain curse energy from a contract. Then if you break those contracts then you can break free from the curse energy. It's just a possibility but I want to know if it's viable."
Did she forget? Binding vows to oneself and binding vows to another person are vastly different. In binding vows imposed on oneself, the rules and merit are made by the same person, and breaking that vow will only result in losing what is gained. Unlike the binding vow to another person, the penalty of breaking it is far greater, and unknown. It could be losing what is gained and even death. If she already hypothesizes that you are in contract with Asura, her saying that breaking the contract is the same as suggesting suicide.
"As you said if our heart and soul were placed as the ransom for attaining curse energy, do you think we can break those contracts? Death is the only thing waiting if that plan is set in motion."
"Is there a proof to these?"
"I am the proof you're looking for." Your eyes landed on the black tea that has grown cold. "Just as you said, it's not just tea. It's medicine. I broke my contract and I'm paying the price... whether by suffering slowly or sudden bad luck both will lead to death. You could say right now, I'm in the state of a moratorium."
"Is there no alternative?" Yuki's face morphed into a rare look of astonishment.
"I have no idea."
"At this rate, you'll die!" Her hands slammed to the table.
"Don't we all? It's just a matter of sooner or later. My turn. Why are you interested in this? For the sake of your crusade?" What do they say about it? To die trying would be better than to die without purpose. Such ambitiousness is needed.
"A world with no curse energy, people will break free from that never-ending cycle. Don't you think we should cure the root instead of cutting off the fruit?"
"Theoretically, in this case, that's correct. In practice? No, I don't agree." You look into Yuki's eyes. She's neither wrong nor right. It's just that when it comes to this concept your ideas are not aligned. "I'm sorry." You close your eyes and sigh. "If that is your goal for visiting me, I have nothing to offer you Senpai. Please forget whatever you said and heard today. I will kill you the moment another soul knows this."
A world without curse energy? It's not impossible, at the same time it's hardly what you could call a free world. Cursed energy is born from negative emotions such as grief and anger. These negative feelings are common in human society so almost everyone possesses cursed energy. The world lies in a delicate balance between black and white. Even if one asks you how those two could co-exist, you also don't know.
"Even without your threat, your clan's secret is safe with me. I will get going then." Yuki retrieve her helmet and you followed to see her out. "Shiba-kun?"
Yuki stopped and turn back to you.
"Have you told Gojo-kun about your condition?"
The nights of coughing up blood flashed through your mind. You've done your best to hide it. You don't want his pity, nor do you want Satoru to worry about losing you as well. You know it's selfish, but... Just a bit more, you want to bask in the days of normalcy with him, the days that you don't have to think about your condition and he doesn't have to add burden on himself worrying about you.
"Call me if I can help you with anything." Perhaps understanding your silence Yuki slip her card into your hand and waved goodbye, riding on her motorbike she made her way down the forest of the Shiba Estate.
II.
"Sugarplum!"
You fiddle with the small box in your hand.
"Hey! I was gone for two weeks and this is how you greet your best friend?" Satoru's face appeared before you. "I won't give you the souvenir I got for you, bleh!" He stuck his tongue out but plops his head on your lap.
"How was your trip?" You smiled and made space so he can extend his long legs on the couch.
"Easy, the travel was longer compared to my mission." he shrugs and notices the velvet box you are playing with. "What's that?" Satoru pulls up his blindfold and stares at the box.
You extended it to him. "It's for you."
Satoru eyed you and accepted the red box. He pops the lid open, and a shining chain bracelet is neatly tucked inside.
"You got this for me? Wait did I forget an occasion?" He carefully brought up the trinket and marveled at the craftmanship, there are engravings on the chains, but it's so small that he has to squint and yet unable to read it still.
"I just thought it'd be nice to make one for you." You asked it the bracelet and gestured for him to roll up his sleeves so you can put it around Satoru's wrists.
"You made this?" Satoru smiles as you clasp the lock, the bracelet fitting perfectly. "Sugarplum," he whined and pouted cutely.
"So that even if we're both far away, you still have a piece of me," you chuckled and push him off of you. "Now give me my souvenir."
